  • This paper proposes the development of a method for assessing the system reliability of an unmanned control robot system for an excavator. It then shows the results of the reliability qualification test based on the proposed method. The robot system functions to ensure the safety of the workers who control excavators in dangerous working environments, and the system reliability was calculated by integrating the reliabilities of the system components. Thus, test equipment for the three key units of the robot system were constructed and used in accelerated life testing. From the life testing results, guaranteed mean time between failures for the chosen confidence level was estimated, and the reliability qualification testing method of the robot system using small sample sizes was proposed.

  • Human error is often in part in the cause of accidents and the result of various factors in an organization. Accidents should be investigated to elucidate all causes. Therefore, to reduce accidents, it is necessary to identify which factors affect human error within the organization. In this study, five groups of influencing factors on human error were selected using previousresearch, and operational definitions were made based on them. In addition, a questionnaire for measuring latent variables by operational definition was developed as an observation variable, and responses were received from employees of chemical companies in Ulsan. Based on SEM (structural equation modeling) analysis, 1) confirmatory factor analysis of variables in the human error model, 2) reliability and validity of latent variables, 3) correlations among latent variables, 4) influencing coefficients among influence factors, and 5) the verification results of the paths that these influencing factors have on human error are introduced in this study.

  • This study is to develope the quantitative risk assessment program for consequence analysis of fire and explosion (PML-Chem), which is applicable to the chemical plants. The advantages of PML-Chem is easy to use and acquire results. Especially, PML-Chem was embedded real weather condition database for major chemical plants in ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ complex in country. Also, reliability of PML-Chem was verified through comparing PML-Chem with PHAST-Professional which is already commercial.

  • This paper proposed a method for solving the nonlinear integer programing problem to get easily the best compromise solution while holding a nonlinear property by using the genetic algorithms. Also, this paper reported that the optimization problem of systems reliability as was solved by using the preposed method, and the numerical comparison experiments between the 0-1 LP/0-1 NP formulations were demonstrated, and from the quantitative evaluation the efficiency of the proposed method was demonstrated.

  • Around two years have passed since the beginning of aptitude test required by 2006 Rail Safety Act. At this point, it is necessary to evaluate the validity of the aptitude test. Through this study, the structural system for all the tests would be overviewed, which will show the correlation among each tests or its importance. Also, although it is rough, reliability and validity of the tests would be overviewed by their retest and education materials. This would contribute, in the future, to setting up for the standard of upgrading or integrating the tests.

  • This research estimated decreased vibration level as quantitative according to change of track system on Seoul Subway Line No. 1 from existing ballasted track system(Pandrol type clip) to concrete track system(Youbgdan type isolation rubber clip). Following change to concrete system, vibration level at tunnel floor decreased between 4-8dB(V). Vibration equations suggested in this paper consider the velocity of train and can estimate quantitative vibration response. These are divided by ultimate limit state($\beta$=0), serviceability limit state($\beta$=1.28) and safety state($\beta$=3), respectively. The reliability index, $\beta$=0, means 50% data line obtained by least squares best-fit line. The reliability index $\beta$=1.28 and 3 represent boundaries below 90% and 99.9% respectively.

  • In this study, an attempt is made to apply the concept of fuzzy-bayesian theory to the integrity assessment of structure system, and uncertainty states are represented in terms of fuzzy sets which define several linguistic variables such as "very good", "good", "average", "poor", "very poor", etc. Especially, the concept of fuzzy conditional probability aids to derive a new reliability analysis which includes the subjective assessment of engineers without introducing any additional correction factors. The fuzzy concept are also used as reliability indexes for the condition assessment based on the proposed models, the proposed fuzzy theory-based approach with the results of PEM and AFOSM are applied to retaining wall.
