대각선 철근이 있는 PC 벽체의 강도 (Strength of PC walls with Diagonal Reinforcements)

  • 대각선 철근이 있는 PC 벽체의 강도를 단면해석을 이용해 구하고자 한다. 대각선 철근의 변형률은 PC 벽체의 주철근의 변형률을 이용해 구할 수 있으며 이러한 변형은 벽체에 추가적인 인장력을 발생시킨다. 대각선 철근에 의한 추가 인장력은 주철근 간격의 1/3지점에서 발생한다고 가정한다.

직접전단시험모델에 의한 뿌리말뚝의 탄소성조인트 유한요소해석 (Elasto-plastic Joint Finite Element Analysis of Root-pile Using the Direct Shear Test Model)

  • The stability of slope using root-pile like to the reinforcements is affected by the interaction behavior mechanism of soil-reinforcements. Through the studying on the interaction in joint of its, therefore, the control roles can be find out in installed slope. In study, the stress level ratio based on the insert angle of installed reinforcements in soil used to numerical analysis, which was results from the duty direct shear test in Lab. The maximum shear strain variation on the reinforcements was observed at insert angle, which was approximately similar to the calculated angle based on the equation proposed by the Jewell. The elasto-plastic joint model on the contact area of soil-reinforcements was presumed, the reinforced soil assumed non-linear elastic model and the reinforcements supposed elastic model, respectively. The finite element analysis of assumed models was performed. The shear strain variation of non-reinforced state obtained by the FEM analysis including elasto-plastic joint elements were shown the rationality of general limit equilibrium analysis for the slope failure mode on driving zone and resistance zone, which based on the stress level step according to failure ratio. Through the variation of shear strain for the variation of inserting angle of reinforcements, the different mechanism on the bending and the shear resistance of reinforcements was shown fair possibility.

  • The re-bar work in the construction of nuclear power plants is difficult, due to the large diameter and the congestion of reinforcements. The mechanical anchorage offers a potential solution for this problem. However, the requirements or the standards for the shape of anchor plate of mechanical anchor has not been clearly established up to now. In this paper, the required performance of the mechanical anchorage for large diameter reinforcements in nuclear power plants are proposed, and the anchor plates are designed through nonlinear finite element analysis. The diameters of anchor plate are determined to be $\sqrt{5}$ times of reinforcement diameter for longitudinal reinforcements and $\sqrt{10}$ for shear reinforcements. The thickness of anchor plates is optimized as 0.3-0.35 times of reinforcement diameter for longitudinal reinforcements and 0.5~0.56 times for shear reinforcements.

Strut-and-tie model for shear capacity of corroded reinforced concrete columns

  • An analytical model is developed in this paper to predict the shear capacity of reinforced concrete (RC) columns with corroded transverse reinforcements. The shear strength model for corroded RC columns is proposed based on modifying the existing strut-and-tie model, which considers the deformational compatibility between truss and arch mechanisms. The contributions to the shear strength from both truss and arch mechanisms are incorporated in the proposed model. The effects of corrosion level of transverse reinforcements are considered in the proposed model through the minimum residual cross-sectional area of transverse reinforcements and the reduction of concrete compressive strength for the cover area. The shear strengths calculated from the developed model are compared with the experimental results from Vu's study (2017), which consisted of RC columns with corroded transverse reinforcements showing shear failure under the cyclic loading. The comparison results indicate satisfactory correlations. Parametric studies are conducted based on the developed shear strength model to explore the effects of column axial loading, aspect ratios, transverse reinforcements and the corrosion levels in transverse reinforcements to the shear strength of RC columns with corroded transverse reinforcements.

강섬유 보강 콘크리트와 GFRP 보강근의 부착특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Bond Properties between GFRP Reinforcements and Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete)

  • 이 논문은 강섬유보강콘크리트와 GFRP (glass fiber reinforced polymer)사이의 부착 특성을 조사하기 위한 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 실험 주요 변수로는 보강근 지름, 섬유혼입량, 피복두께 및 콘크리트의 압축강도를 설정하였다. 부착파괴는 주로 콘크리트 피복에서의 쪼갬으로 인하여 유발되며, 이러한 콘크리트의 쪼갬파괴는 보강근과 콘크리트 사이의 변형 차이로 유발되는 인장력때문에 발생한다. 따라서, 보강근과 콘크리트 사이의 부착파괴를 방지하기 위하여, 콘크리트 피복부위의 인장강도를 향상시켜야 한다. 실험결과를 살펴보면, 섬유혼입량 증가는 부착강도를 크게 향상시키고 있으며, 피복두께는 최종 파괴모드를 변화시킴을 확인할 수 있었다. 보강근의 지름 또한 최종 파괴모드를 변화시킴을 확인할 수 있었다. 일반적으로 보강근의 지름은 부착특성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있으나, 섬유혼입량은 부착특성에 큰 영향이 없는 것으로 알려져 있다. 콘크리트 압축강도의 증가는 보강근과 콘크리트 사이의 부착강도를 증가시켰으며, 이는 압축강도의 증가가 직접적으로 인장강도의 증가를 유발하기 때문이라고 판단된다.

인장 겹침이음에서 프라이 거동의 영향 (Prying Action of Spliced Reinforcements in Tension)

  • 철근공사에서 이음은 필연적으로 발생되며, 일반적으로 겹침이음을 통해 이음강도를 확보한다. 인장 이음길이는 인장 정착길이를 기준으로 산정되며, 정착길이는 실험적으로 도출된 부착강도 모델을 기반으로 결정된다. 인장이음은 휨을 받는 경우에 발생되므로 부재의 휨변형이 반드시 발생된다. 휨변형에의해 프라이(Prying) 거동이 발생되어, 철근이 피복콘크리트를 밀어내는 힘이 발생된다. 이러한 힘은 부착응력에 의해 발생되는 인장응력과 동일한 역할을 한다. 프라이 거동에 의해 발생된 인장응력과 부착응력에 의해 발생된 인장응력의 합이 콘크리트 인장강도에 도달하면 이음부가 파괴되므로, 프라이거동의 존재는 부착강도를 저하시키게 된다. 역학적 모델을 구성하여 휨부재의 인장이음에서 프라이거동이 이음강도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 프라이 거동에 의한 인장응력은 보강근의 인장강도와 탄성계수에 비례하며, 휨부재의 휨강성에도 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이음되는 보강근의 간격에 반비례하여 인장응력이 유발된다. 따라서 슬래브와 같이 휨강성이 작은 부재에 촘촘하게 이음된 경우에는 현행 설계기준보다 긴 이음길이를 확보할 필요가 있다.

Analysis of RC beam with unbonded or exposed tensile steel reinforcements and defective stirrup anchorages for shear strength

  • Although the effect of corrosion of reinforcing bar on the shear behavior of the reinforced concrete (RC) beam had been simulated by tests of the beam with unbonded, half-exposed or whole-exposed tensile steel reinforcements as well as defective stirrup anchorages, theoretical methods to accurately predict remaining capacity of this kind of RC beams, especially shear capacity, are still lacking. Considering the possible position of the critical inclined crack, the actual pattern of strains in the concrete body within the partial length and the proposed compatibility condition of deformations of the RC beam, shear strength of the RC beam with unbonded or exposed tensile steel reinforcements and/or defective stirrup anchorages is predicted. Comparison between the model's predictions with the experimental results published in the literature shows the practicability of the proposed model. Influence of the length of unbonded or exposed tensile steel reinforcements and the percentage of stirrups lacked end anchorages on the shear strength of the RC beam is discussed. It is concluded that, the shear strength of the RC beam with unbonded or exposed tensile steel reinforcements and/or defective stirrup anchorages is greatly influenced by the length of unbonded or exposed tensile steel reinforcements and the percentage of stirrups lacked end anchorages, this influence can be adverse, insignificant or even favourable, dependent on the given parameters of the corresponding normal bonded RC beam.

  • This study aims to analyze the properties of the temperature change in vertical reinforcements in outdoor wall structures in winter in relation to the different methods of bubble sheet installation, and to subsequently determine the possibility of initial frost damage to the concrete as a result of low temperature. As for the experimental variables, double bubble sheets were used as curing materials, and the curing method was to model the part where the slab and the wall intersect and the rebar is exposed, and to measure the change of temperature around the exposed rebar in accordance with the change of the coating curing. It was found that by employing curing method B, which is to install the bubble sheet between the vertical reinforcements, the most vulnerable area, which is 50mm below(④) the surface of the concrete, would be lowered to sub-zero temperature 20 hours later than when using curing method A, and that therefore it is more effective to install the bubble sheet between the vertical reinforcements for the prevention of initial frost damage.

  • The specimen of current study has the same type with the 3-span slabs of Burns et al used in the study by Mojtahedi/Gamble, which laid a ground for the revision of the ACI318-77 code to the ACI 318-83 code. But those specimens was failed prematurely before it reached the ultimate strength which the specimen had. The reason is that bonded reinforcements were cut off where there is no need for the flexural reinforcement. As results. the slabs failed ultimately where the reinforcements was cut off. Thus, the tendon stresses of failure may have been much smaller than the values which culd reach if the bonded reinforcements were extended beyond the theoretical cut off points. On the based on the fact mentioned above. the specimens which had the same conditions as the specimens of Burns et al were used in the current study, but in which the reinforcements were distributed in a sequence for the reinforcements not to be cut anywhere in the 3-span. As a results, it was known that the current ACI code, revised by the result of Mojtahedi/Gamble's study, overestimated the effect of span/depth ratio on the members with high span/depth ratio. Thus it was concluded that the effect of span/depth ratio on the ultimate stress of unbonded tendon regulated by the current ACI code must be reconsidered and reevaluated.
