  • The method of suppressing recidivism through punishment centered on punishment is showing limitations through criminal policy research in many countries. As an alternative to this, a restorative judicial law aimed at returning criminals to members of society through reconciliation and coordination of community members, victims, and perpetrators is emerging as a paradigm for crime prevention and recidivism. Sweden is a representative welfare state and is confirming positive effects through correction of criminals based on restorative justice. In addition, it has a stable system related to the legal protection welfare system, and maintains a low recidivism rate and social security through scientific and reasonable operation using evidence-based principles in the evaluation and certification process of operating programs. However, research on the legal protection system implemented in advanced welfare and correctional countries, including Sweden, is still insufficient in Korea. Therefore, this study aims to explore the direction of the domestic legal protection system through a review of Swedish criminal policy and legal protection system, and to identify insufficient areas and complementary points of the domestic system to lay the foundation for improving the domestic legal protection welfare system and expanding business.

  • This study was aimed to investigate the contribution of tree plantation, tree breeding and soil erosion control techniques developed during Saemaul Undong periods to the successful forest rehabilitation in the Republic of Korea. We surveyed a various literature of forest journals and had deep interview with forest experts who were actively involved in the forest rehabilitation projects. In the Republic of Korea, the forest rehabilitation was started with Saemaul Undong in 1970s and carried out to make the country green and to restore degraded forest lands by supports of tree plantation, tree breeding and soil erosion control techniques. Various techniques such as seed storage, seedling production, mass vegetative propagation (grafting and cutting) and special planting at denuded land or slash and burn site were developed for tree plantation. All techniques developed for the forest rehabilitation were connected with Saemaul Undong which caused active participation of local community people. Therefore, the development of tree plantation, tree breeding and soil erosion control skills had great impact on the job creation and income sources of local dwellers. It would be an applicable case to developing countries suffering with deforestation and forest degradation if the Korean skills developed for forest rehabilitation could be transferred.

The data was obtained through telephone interviews with physically disabled residing in the city of Seoul and the suburb area of the city. The final sample consists of 591 respondents. The data was analyzed through frequency, oneway anova, pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression. In this study, social integration based on independent living paradigm was divided into separate but related dimensions: autonomy of activity daily living, accessibility, economic level, degree of social support satisfaction, consumer control, psychological empowerment. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, the levels of six dimensions of social integration based on independent living paradigm were very different and especially the level of dimensions such as degree of social support satisfaction and consumer control were lower than other dimensions of social integration. Second, each level of social integration by life span was very different. Finally, the factors affecting social integration were socio-psychological traits such as social support, rehabilitation services, self esteem and acceptance of disability as well as the attribution to disability. The current findings suggest that improving nay only ADL or accessibility but also consumer control or social support should be considered by professional and policy makers. And differentiated intervention and policy according to life span necessary to policy makers and field practitioners.

The people tradition sees crime control as the preservation of the authority of hereditary rulers. In the period of the Koryeo dynasty, government accepted a serious of detailed penal code from Tang dynasty . Legal response to crime stressed preservation of the dynasty rather than making citizen behave according to certain rules. In the period of Early Joseon , the compilation of Grand Code for state administration was initiated, the Kyeongkuk Taejeon ,became comer stone of the dynastic administration and provided the monarchial system with a sort of constitutional law in written form. Korea-Japanese Treaty concluded on 22 August ,1910 and proclaim a week later ,Japan gave the coup de grace to the Korea Empire and changed the office of the Resident - General into the Government - General . Thus korean criminal policy were lost during a dark ages ,which lasted for 36 years after fall of Joseon Dynasty (the colnial period,1910${\sim}$1945). • The purpose of this paper is to examine whether strategic decision-making processes are related to decision effectiveness, using a longitudinal field study design. We studied 120 decisions to determine if procedural rationality and political behavior influence decision success, controlling for the goodwill of the environment and decision implementation. Our results indicate that decision-making processes are indeed related to decision success. Results are discussed in terms of the importance of strategic choice in environmental organizations. these studies often provided simple fragments of empirical tests without a well developed theoretical framework. This study attempts to fill this gap by examining policy adoption, specifically by investigating influences on policy decision making across 120 nations using multiple-regression analysis. The greater the number of international NGOs in which a national governmental participates, the more the nation is apt to adopt international environmental policies to see how real affect.

  • The purpose of this article is to present the environmental enrichment(EE) method used to improve the functional recovery and change of brain plastic in animal experimental models of stroke. In animal experimental models of stroke, the environmental enrichment is effective in altering the morphological, biochemical and behavioral characteristics of the brain and thereby improving the functional outcomes. In this review article, we address the effects of EE in achieving a functional recovery in animal experimental models of stroke, thus attempting to describe them in patients with stroke from both occupational and rehabilitation perspectives.

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify the complementary and substitute relationships between the use of Korean medicine (KM) and that of Western medicine (WM) in the treatment of musculoskeletal disease. Methods: We analyzed the 2009 Korea Health Panel dataset. General characteristics and the medical utilization of respondents were analyzed descriptively. Logistic regression, negative binominal regression, and Tobit regression analysis were used to identify the relationships between the use of KM and the use, visit frequency, and expenses of WM, respectively. Results: In the treatment of musculoskeletal disease, KM use and non-herbal treatments with Korean medicine significantly reduced WM use. Herb medication use significantly increased WM visit frequency. There were no significant relationships between KM use and WM expenses. Conclusions: There are substitute relationships between WM use and KM use, especially non-herbal treatments in KM. Therefore we need to develop the clinical protocols of KM and WM treatments in the treatment of musculoskeletal disease for proper distribution medical resources.
