We prove the following: (1) For a Hausdorff space X, the hyperspace K(X) of compact subsets of X is hemicompact if and only if X is hemicompact. (2) For a regular space X, the hyperspace $C_K(X)$ of subcontinua of X is hemicompact (hemiconnected) if and only if X is hemicompact (hemiconnected). (3) For a locally compact Hausdorff space X, each open set in X is hemicompact if and only if each basic open set in the hyperspace K(X) is hemicompact. (4) For a connected, locally connected, locally compact Hausdorff space X, K(X) is hemiconnected if and only if X is hemiconnected.

A new implicit discontinuous Galerkin spectral element method (DGSEM) based on the first order hyperbolic system(FOHS) is presented for solving elliptic type partial different equations, such as the Poisson problems. By utilizing the idea of hyperbolic formulation of Nishikawa[1], the original Poisson equation was reformulated in the first-order hyperbolic system. Such hyperbolic system is solved implicitly by the collocation type DGSEM. The steady state solution in pseudo-time, which is the solution of the original Poisson problem, was obtained by the implicit solution of the global linear system. The optimal polynomial orders of 𝒪(𝒽^𝑝+1)) are obtained for both the solution and gradient variables from the test cases in 1D and 2D regular grids. Spectral accuracy of the solution and gradient variables are confirmed from all test cases of using the uniform grids in 2D.

Preserving reservoir safety has recognized to be important for the public where a vast majority of dams are located upstream of greatly populated cities and industrialized areas. Buckling, floatation and cavitation have caused failure in the spillway gates and conveyance features during past catastrophic events; showed their vulnerability and need for regular inspection along with reviewing design calculations to ensure the spillway meet current design standards. This paper investigates the hydraulic and structural consideration of dam's spillway by evaluating the data of Karkheh Dam's. Discharge capacity, flood routings and cavitation damage risk were main features for hydraulic considerations where hydrostatic and hydrodynamic forces and stability conditions were considered in structural considerations.

Purpose: There is a need for artificial intelligence which nurtures human intelligence as the prevalence of dementia and collapse of intelligence of human beings has become a social problem. Purpose of this study is to develop intervention technologies for maintaining cognitive health of older adults. Methods: The method named the Coimagination Method (CM) was proposed and has been developed in order to achieve goal. Conversation assistive technologies have been developed and tested based on the method. Results: The state of the art of the group conversation support system, and regular series of group conversation sessions for full-years with insights for healthy older adults are described in detail. Participatory approach has been applied to the design process for simultaneous research and implementation of the service. Both participants and practitioners have been maintaining their cognitive health for independent living. Conclusion: Findings imply that there exist potentially preventive types of dementia and intervention should be applicable for such types. Ways of thinking and living are gently intervened through understanding of personal values and broadening minds, which lead to improved quality of life.

The precise prediction of future position of satellite depends on the accurate determination of orbit, which is also helpful in performing orbit maneuvers and trajectory correction maneuvers. For estimating the orbit of satellite many methods are being used. Some of the conventional methods are based on (i) Differential Correction (DC) (ii) Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). In this paper, Differential Evolution (DE) is used to determine the orbit. Orbit Determination using DC and EKF requires some initial guess of the state vector to initiate the algorithm, whereas DE does not require an initial guess since a wide range of bounds for the design unknown variables (orbital elements) is sufficient. This technique is uniformly valid for all orbits viz. circular, elliptic or hyperbolic. Simulated observations have been used to demonstrate the performance of the method. The observations are generated by including random noise. The simulation model that generates the observations includes the perturbation due to non-spherical earth up to second zonal harmonic term.

Let R ⊆ L ⊆ S be ring extensions. Two star operations ${\ast}_1{\in}Star(R,S)$, ${\ast}_2{\in}Star(L,S)$ are said to be linked if whenever $A^{{\ast}_1}= R^{{\ast}_1}$ for some finitely generated S-regular R-submodule A of S, then $(AL)^{{\ast}_2}=L^{{\ast}_2}$. We study properties of linked star operations; especially when ${\ast}_1$ and ${\ast}_2$ are strict star operations. We introduce the notion of Prüfer star multiplication extension ($P{\ast}ME$) and we show that under appropriate conditions, if the extension R ⊆ S is $P{\ast}_1ME$ and ${\ast}_1$ is linked to ${\ast}_2$, then L ⊆ S is $P{\ast}_2ME$.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between depression status and cognitive function in the community female aged. Methods: This was a descriptive study. Data were collected using individual-based interviews from 120 senior female residents in the Hall for the aged in the city of S. The length of time for data collection was from June 18 to 29, 2007. The tool of data collection was Korean Version of Mini-Mental State Examination (Kwon & Park, 1989), Short-form Geriatric Depression Scale (Bae, 1996). Results: Depression & cognition showed significant differences according to age, regular exercise. The depression group scored significantly lower than the normal group in total score of cognition, orientation, memory recall. Conclusion: It is necessary to prepare the composite programs, which can improve not only cognition but depression in the community female aged.\

Objective : The purpose of this study is to report that patients with panic disorder were able to discontinue the psychotropic medication through Korean Medicine treatment alone. Methods : The patient diagnosed with panic disorder were hospitalized on the 9th and were treated steadily through outpatient treatment afterwards with herbal medicine, acupuncture, cupping therapy, and Whidam's Sugi therapy while taking the chemical. Treatment effects were evaluated through BAI, BDI, STAI-X-1, CSEI-s, GIS, NDI-K, and EQ-5D measurements. Results & Conclusions : The patient's anxiety was relieved and the psychotropic medication was discontinued, but it did not recur. And after inpatient treatment, he has been steadily receiving outpatient treatment on a regular basis, maintaining an improved state and leading a normal daily life.

Robinson with ${coworkers}^{1}$ have introduced two-state outer-neighbor bonding model to explain the anomalies of water. The studies on the properties of water as a function of temperature and pressure revealed that, unlike other ideas, all $H_2O$ molecules in liquid are tetrabonded. On the average they are forming two different bonding types. One type is the regular tetrahedral water-water bonding similar to that found in the ordinary ice Ih, whereas the other is a more dense nonregular tetrahedral bonding similar to that appearing in the ice II. The transformation between these two bonding forms is evidenced by FT-NIR experiment. The FT-NIR measurements were done for liquid water in the temperature range from $20^{\circ}C$ up to $80^{\circ}C$ in a wide extent of frequencies: 12 000 - 4000 $cm^{-1}$ /. Temperature dependent variations in the volume fraction of these two structures are directly related to the spectral changes. The absorbance variations are explored by means of the two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy (2DCOS), principal component analysis (PCA), curve fitting and second derivatives. The presence of the isosbestic points in a range of the combination and overtone transitions indicates that the experimental spectra are a superposition of two temperature independent components. One component of diminishing intensity with temperature increase, is assigned to a stronger hydrogen bonds occurred in the Ih type, whereas the second component showing an opposite behavior, one can attribute to a weaker H-bonds characteristic for the II type. The understanding of the hydrogen bonding network in the liquid water is very important in interpretation of the interaction between water and protein chain. The two-state model of water surrounding the protein surface could advance an understanding of the hydration process.

1. Objectives: Sasang Medicine has been based on different medicine approach because people were different, so, this was a little different concept about health compared to other oriental and western medicine focused on existing Yangsaeng theory. We were announced Constitution health indicators for women, and this was follow-up study designed to identify Constitutional health indicators in men. 2. Methods: We recruited 171 men between 10 and 80, excluding individuals who have physically or psychologically serious disease among Korean population in Traditional Korea Clinics. They were diagnosed by Sasang Constitution specialists and confirmed clinically with Sasang constitution drug response with past medical records. We used CRF(Case Report Form, C-2009-002439) as measurement of physiological and pathological symptoms and SF-36 (Short Form-36) as measurement of health state. We analyzed association between physiological and pathological symptoms and health state with Two-way ANOVA. 3. Results: 23 items of 82 indicators in physiological and pathological symptoms were related to the quality of life, regardless of the constitution. There are 4 different symptoms associated with health state in men, such as regular of feces, hard to fall asleep, no problem in chest, feel heavy in chest according to Sasang Constitution. 4. Conclusions: From these Results, there are different items of physiological and pathological affected the Quality of life according to Sasang Constitution.
