  • Kuo et al proposed an on-line method for an adaptive prediction error filter for improving secondary path modeling performance in the modeling method of the secondary path. This method have some disadvantages, namely having to use additive noise with the result that noise control performance is not good since it is focused on the estimated performance of the secondary path. In this paper, we proposes a modified Kuo model using gain control parameter and delay. It uses a reference signal for additive noise to improve the problems in the existing Kuo model.

  • The traditional speed and pole position sensors, which are inevitable to drive the permanent magnet synchronous motors, are removed by the parameter identification using model reference adaptive systems. Also, the current detecting method is proposed on the synchronously rotating axis without the position information, and this enables the implementation of the proposed algorithm. The proposed methods have been confirmed both by digital simulation and experiments.

  • The purpose of this treatise is to estimate speed of an induction motor and realize a robust speed control system with estimated speed in field-weakening region. A speed estimation is based on Model Reference Adaptive System(MRAS) technique and two flux estimator are designed to be robust against parameter variation. The MRAS-based overall control scheme has been implemented on 7.5kW Spindle induction motor control system. And it is verified that the proposed control scheme is very stable and robust in field-weakening region.

  • A Canadian Deuterium Uranium (CANDU) reactor core calculation was performed using lattice parameters generated by HELIOS. The HELIOS-based lattice parameters were processed by TABGEN in a form suitable for the core analysis code RFSP. The core calculation was performed and the results were compared to those of the reference calculation which uses POWDERPUFS-V (PPV) for the lattice parameter generation. The characteristics of the core calculated based on the PPV and HELIOS lattice parameters match within 0.4%$\Delta$k and 7% for the excess reactivity and the channel power distribution, respectively.

  • We study on a terrain contour matching algorithm using Radial Basis Functions(RBFs) for aided inertial navigation system for position fixing aircraft, cruise missiles or re-entry vehicles. The parameter optimization technique is used for updating the parameters describing the characteristics of an area with modified Gaussian least square differential correction algorithm and the step size limitation filter according to the amount of updates. We have applied the algorithm for matching a sampled area with a target area supposed that the area data are available from Radar Terrain Sensor(RTS) and Reference Altitude Sensor(RAS)

  • This paper proposed a speed estimator using MRAC(Model Reference Adaptive Control) for sensorless vector control. It is robust for parameter variation or disturbance and the estimated speed is used as feedback in a vector control system. Experiment is presented to confirm the theoretical analysis.

  • In this paper, an approach to autopilot design based on the robust nonlinear dynamic inversion method is proposed. Both unknown parameters and uncertainty bounds are estimated and parameter estimates are used in the fast inversion. Furthermore, to get more robustness slow inversion is incorporated with MRAC(Model Reference Adaptive Control) and sliding mode control where the estimates of uncertainty bounds are used. The proposed method is applied to the pitch autopilot design of a missile system and excellent performance is shown via computer simulation.

  • A robust control for robot manipulators actuated by induction motors using neural networks(NNs) is considered. The control is designed to compensate for nonlinear dynamics associated with the mechanical subsystem and the electrical subsystems only with the measurements of link position, link velocity and stator winding currents. Two-layer NNs are used to approximate unknown functions occurring from parameter variation during backstepping design process. Specially, through the use of nonlinear observers for rotor flux, observed backstepping controller is designed to achieve uniform ultimately bounded link position tracking of the given reference signal ...
