The Scattering Performance of a Junction of Rectangular Waveguide to Coaxial Line with Two Skewed Conducting Posts (두 개의 경사진 금속봉을 가진 구형 도파관과 동축 선로의 접합부의 산란 특성)

  • To determine a scattering performance of a rectangular waveguide with two skewed conducting posts in approximation by the mode matching method and the generalized scattering method is presented in this paper. We determined the optimized result from effective analysis to select the adequate eigenmode number in mode matching method for the skewed two conducting posts. And we obtained the scattering performance of the junction of the waveguide to coaxial line with two skewed conducting posts by application of above method. By this result, it can be seen that the transmission performance at output port of waveguide to coaxial line is 3 ㏈ at the angle, 50°And we obtained the reflection performance to decrease linearly along the skewed angle at input port.

  • This paper presents a slotted leaky waveguide antenna using a rectangular waveguide for mobile reception of DBS (Direct Broadcasting Satellite). A slotted rectangular waveguide in leaky-wave operation can obtain a large beam-tilting angle of 45$^{\circ}$, which is an attractive candidate of mobile DBS receiving antennas because it can be installed horizontally. SNM is used to solve arbitrary shape and materials constant, derived from maxwell's equations. In this paper, analyze cross slot waveguide antenna using SNM. and verify by HFSS.

  • Design methods are presented for an X-band traveling-wave slot array realized on a rectangular waveguide. An array of 21 longitudinal slots is realized on the broad wall of a rectangular waveguide. The squint of the antenna main beam is adjusted using the element spacing and the waveguide broad wall dimension. The excitation of the array is controlled by the slot offset from the waveguide center line Multiple I-plane steps are placed around last slot elements so that the second-order beam due to tile reflected wave Is minimized A waveguide-to-coaxial adapter Is designed for feeding the array antenna from a coaxial system. Results of the design show an outstanding performance of the antenna 17.1 dB gain. 36"beam 1111, and -21 dB maximum sidelobe level.evel.

  • In this paper, scattering matrix for the open ended rectangular waveguide with infinite flange is derived. To validate the scattering matrix approach, load admittance $Y_{L,10}$ obtained from the present scattering matrix method is compared with the results of the previous work. The convergence for scattering matrix solution versus TE and TM mode numbers is investigated. Also far field power pattern radiated from the aperture of the waveguide is given.

  • An end-launched adapter combining a coaxial loop within a rectangular waveguide has been analyzed and designed. The accurate electromagnetic modeling of input impedance for the adapter design has been developed using a modal analysis method. Also, design parameters to improve the end-launched adapter have been investigated. Numerical and experimental results of the proposed model have been compared with the results of previous works, and verified by an electromagnetic simulator of High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). The input voltage standing wave ratios (VSWRs) are smaller than 2 over the wide frequency band from 7.5 GHz to 10.5 GHz.

  • A novel impedance model is proposed fur the rectangular power plane along with the analytic impedance expression derived from it. The power plane is modeled as a section of a rectangular waveguide with appropriate boundary conditions around its periphery. As a result, the derived impedance expression based on the proposed model has the one-dimensional series form, which is simpler and computationally more efficient than the existing formula based on cavity model of the power plane.

  • In this paper, an efficient moment-method technique is proposed for analyzing rectangular waveguide E-plane filters. Techniques are presented for the fast evaluation of Green's function and for the efficient evaluation of integrals arising in the E-plane of the rectangular waveguide. The structure boundary is represented by the piecewise linear segments. Simple pulse-expansion and point-matching technique are used. The entire E-plane filter structure is simulated by the method of moments. Three representative cases of the E-plane filter are analyzed and compared with results by other researchers.

  • An efficient hybrid method is proposed to analyze discontinuities in a rectangular waveguide. Only with a small number of meshes around a discontinuity, the typical finite element method is shown to give an exact solution through several iterative updates of the boundary conditions. To show the validity of the proposed method, a simple circular aperture in a rectangular waveguide is analyzed and its result is compared with FEBIM.

  • In this paper, design of rectangular iris waveguide filter for the microwave broadcasting transponder using WR137 is applied to the modified ${TE^x}_{mn}$ mode theory in order to exactly analyze the characteristic of the waveguide discontinuity. We designed and fabricated the rectangular iris waveguide filter with the bandwidth 47 MHz for the microwave broadcasting transponder applied the conjugate gradient method to the modified ${TE^x}_{mn}$ mode theory. The results show a good characteristics that the $S_{11}$ and $S_{21}$ are -23 ㏈, -0.56 ㏈ and the maximum VSWR is below 1.02 in the passband.

  • In this paper, scattering characteristics of the rectangular waveguide with elliptical conducting post and equivalent impedance of post are analyzed by mode matching method and generalized scattering method. The scattcring characteristics of rectangular waveguide are varied by the height and eccentricity of elliptical conducting post. When the height of post(2.54mm, 4mm) is small, variation in scattering characteristics appears in total simulated frequency. But as the height of post(7.62mm, 9mm) is increased, it is dominant in higher frequency. The simulated result shows good agreement with the HFSS's result. Proposed structure and analysis method are easily applied to the design and manufacture of waveguide component with elliptical conducting post.
