A Study of Perturbed Electromagnetic Waves in Rectangular Waveguide Filled with atransversely magnetized Semiconductor (정자계를 가한 반도체를 갖는 도파관내의 전자파이동에 관한 연구)

  • Perturbation thorpe for quantum mechanics is extended to the derivation of a power equation for microwave propagation in a rectangular waveguiad filled with N-type silicon which is transversely magnetized. This approximation evolves in a unified manner from the eigenvalue formulation of maxwell's equation wherein the wave numbers are tthe eigenvalues of a linear operator. TE10 wave at 9.61GHz is employed for the experimental investigation of the microwave propagation through a transversely magnetized semiconductor. Results from first order perturbation agree well with the experiment where the bridge method using two Magic Tees is employed.

  • In this paper, a new method which simultaneously gives the radiation conductance and susceptance of the rectangular microstrip patch antenna. This solution is derived from the load admittance of the equivalent ${\pi}-$network circuit of the slitted parallel-plate waveguide filled with homogeneous dielectric. Our theoretical results for the radiation admittance are compared with other theoretical results. Also, our theoretical return loss and resonant frequency which are calculated by use of the equivalent transmission line model are in fairly good agreement with the experimental results.

  • This paper presents a full-wave, moment method analysis of a Moreno directional coupler with tow crossed-slots between two crossed rectangular waveguides. the overall structure is divided into several rectangular waveguides and cavities by the use of the equivalence principle to the complex slot regions. this enables a simple and efficient analysis involving the well-known retangular waveguide/cavity Green's functions. For a numerically efficient simulation, the roof-top basis expansion and line testing is used and an acceleration technique is applied to the series summation in the Green's functions. The numerical results are compared with the measurements to verify the correctness of the present analysis.

  • In this paper, the vector finite elements are adopted to calculate eigenvalues of RF and microwave components. Simulation results show that spurious are completely avoided because of the divergence free nature of the vector elements. This paper seeks to extend these low-order elements to higher orders to improve the accuracy of numerical solution. Investigation of numerical results for a rectangular waveguide was provided. A vector finite element program was implemented to allow propagation constants and electric field distributions to be directly computed in the rectangular and circular waveguides which are partially filled with the dielectric.

  • Based on the modified effective index method, analysis of dielectric rectangular waveguides and directional couplers are presented. Aside from the effective index concept of channel region, the equivalent index concept of cladding region is proposed. The error problem of eigenvalues, which has been experienced when the effective index method is used, is improved. Our approxiamtions give similar accuracy when compared with the results of other regorous approxiamtion techiniques. The advantage of the modified effective index methods is utilized by replacing the directional coupler with the equivalent slab guides, and the coupling constant is calculated by the coupled mode theory. The effectiveness of the equivalent index concept is positively confirmed.

  • To achieve efficient field formulations and fast numerical computations, the reciprocal relations and equivalence between tangential and normal boundary conditions for electromagnetic fields are discussed in terms of the Maxwell's differential equations. Using the equivalence of each boundary condition, we propose the six essential boundary conditions, which may be applicable to matching electromagnetic discontinuities to efficiently design RF devices. In order to verify our approach, the reflection characteristics of a rectangular waveguide step are compared with respect to six essential boundary conditions.

  • This paper presents the designing scheme of the duplexer for ground station using rectangular waveguide. The duplexer consists of 2-channel bandpass filters having asymmetrical inductive window and inductive post obstacles, coupled with H-plane Apertured-coupled junction, and operating in the frequency ranges of 14.5∼14.8GHz and 11.7∼12.0 GHz which are the DBS up/downlink for the domestic Ku-band ground station.

  • 본 논문에서는 모드 매칭법과 일반 산란계수법을 이용하여 경사진 금속봉이 도파란내에 놓여 있을 때 반사 특성과 투과 특성을 구하였으면, 이 결과를 이용하여 동축선로와 도파관과의 접합에 응용할 수 있도록 최적의 조건을 도출하였다. 여기서 반사특성은 기울기사 클수록 뚜렷아세 개선되어서 최소-40dB까지 감소하였고, 투과특성은 최적의 각도 45$^{\circ}$에서 최대의 특성을 얻을 수 있었다. 또한, 이를 HFSS의 결과와 비교하였을 때 잘일치하는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 혼 안테나에 Dielectric rod를 삽입하는 구조를 사용하였다. 입력구조는 Rectangular Waveguide Feed에 Cone을 접목시키는 형태로 구현되었으며 기존의 E-Plane taper구조보다 특성이 양호하며 소형화를 구현해냈다. 제작된 안테나의 중심주파수는 37GHz이며 정재파비 특성 또한 양호하다. 여러 Feeding 구조 중 Bandwidth를 좀더 확장할 수 있는 구조에 초점을 맞추어 대역폭은 13%이상을 구현했으며 시뮬레이션 툴은 Ansoft HFSS V7.0으로 최적화한 후 제작 및 측정하였다. 또한 사용된 Dielectric rod의 제질은 Teflon(ETFE, $\varepsilon$$_{r}$=2.03)을 사용하였다.
