  • The purposes of this study are to explore how the service recovery of the beauty shops and customers' perceived justice affect the customer relationship. A survey based questionnaire method was employed for this study. Data were collected by a convenient sampling of 232 female customers of hair beauty shops in Seoul and Busan. The data were analysed by using SPSS 21.0, including a frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis and multiple of regression analyses. The first result showed that all dimensions of service recovery had a significantly positive effect on the perceived justice. Especially, behavioral recovery of beauty shops was the major significant factor affecting perceived justice. Second, distributive justice and interactive justice had a significant effect on satisfaction. However, procedural justice did not have any significant effect on satisfaction. Finally, satisfaction was significantly and strongly associated with both trust and commitment. These results provide empirical proposition that the recovery strategies for complaint handling of the beauty service shop are related closely to relationship marketing.

  • This study analyzes the reverse recovery phenomenon of a semi-bridgeless rectifier (SBR) in an inductive power transfer (IPT) system for electric vehicles. Ideally, the reverse recovery phenomenon does not occur in a diode rectifier, however, in practical systems, the reverse recovery phenomenon occurs even when the SBR operates like a diode rectifier due to high operating frequency. Therefore, a practical analysis of operation modes for SBRs is presented in this study, considering the reverse recovery phenomenon, and the requirements for SBR switches are proposed. The analysis results are experimentally verified using a 3.3 [kW] IPT system prototype to which three different types of switches are applied.

  • The dimensional accuracy of a final product is mainly affected by elastic die deformation during the forging and elastic recovery after the ejection in cold forging process. The investigations on elastic recovery are not so much as those of elastic die deformation. The elastic recovery can be determined by using the elastic-plalstic finite element analysis, but, this method has some limits such as poor conver- gence and long computational time, etc. In this paper, a theoretical analysis for predicting the elastic recovery of a final product in axi-symmetric forging process by using the rigid-plastic finite element method is presented. The rigid-plastic finite element analysis of a cold forward extrusion process involving loading, ejecting process is accomplished by rigid-plastic FE code, DEFORM. The effect of elastic die deformation on the final product dimenmsion is also considered. The calculated elastic recovery is compared is compared with the analysis result of elastic-plastic FE code. • Human failure event (HFE) dependency analysis is a part of human reliability analysis (HRA). For efficient HFE dependency analysis, a maximum number of minimal cut sets (MCSs) that have HFE combinations are generated from the fault trees for the probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) of nuclear power plants (NPPs). After collecting potential HFE combinations, dependency levels of subsequent HFEs on the preceding HFEs in each MCS are analyzed and assigned as conditional probabilities. Then, HFE recovery is performed to reflect these conditional probabilities in MCSs by modifying MCSs. Inappropriate HFE dependency analysis and HFE recovery might lead to an inaccurate core damage frequency (CDF). Using the above process, HFE recovery is performed on MCSs that are generated with a non-zero truncation limit, where many MCSs that have HFE combinations are truncated. As a result, the resultant CDF might be underestimated. In this paper, a new method is suggested to incorporate HFE recovery into the MCS generation stage. Compared to the current approach with a separate HFE recovery after MCS generation, this new method can (1) reduce the total time and burden for MCS generation and HFE recovery, (2) prevent the truncation of MCSs that have dependent HFEs, and (3) avoid CDF underestimation. This new method is a simple but very effective means of performing MCS generation and HFE recovery simultaneously and improving CDF accuracy. The effectiveness and strength of the new method are clearly demonstrated and discussed with fault trees and HFE combinations that have joint probabilities.

  • The existing recovery technique using the logging technique in the client/sewer database system only administers the log as a whole in a server. This contains the logging record transmission cost on the transaction that is executed in each client potentially and increases network traffic. In this paper, the logging technique for redo-only log is suggested, which removes the redundant before-image and supports the client-based logging to eliminate the transmission cost of the logging record. Also, in case of a client crash, redo recovery through a backward client analysis log is performed in a self-recovering way. In case of a server crash, the after-image of the pages which needs recovery through simultaneous backward analysis log is only transmitted and redo recovery is done through the received after-image and backward analysis log. Also, we select the comparing model to estimate the performance about the proposed recovery technique. And we analyzed the redo and recovery time about the change of the number of client and the rate of updating operation.

  • This study attempts to analyze relational structures among service failure-related variables after the moderation of fairness in the beauty service industry with the following purposes: First, it aims to review and investigate service failure & service recovery strategies, non-switching intentions after recovery, revisit intention, the intent to provide word-of-mouth recommendations and previous studies on service failure and recovery in the beauty service industry. Second, it targets the analysis of the role of fairness as a variable that moderates relations between service recovery strategies and post-recovery satisfaction in the beauty service industry. For this, the following research method was used: This study has investigated the effect of service failure and its recovery strategies (behavioral recovery strategy, psychological recovery strategy, monetary recovery strategy) on customer satisfaction for beauty service users and used the Structural Equation Model (SEM) to further analyze and verify the effect of the satisfaction on post-satisfaction behavior (non-switching intention, repurchase intention and the intent to provide word-of-mouth recommendations). The SEM was divided into a measurement model and structural model to determine if the model is appropriate and estimate the parameters of the path coefficient. In addition, this study examined to see if fairness (procedural fairness, distributive fairness and interactive fairness) works as a moderating variable while the service recovery efforts affect customer satisfaction. Then, the role of service recovery strategies, targeted to satisfy the customers who were dissatisfied because of service failure, were investigated. In addition, its effect on post-satisfaction behavior was analyzed from the structural aspect, and the moderating role was examined as well. Then, the role of the service recovery strategy, which can be used to satisfy dissatisfied customers, was examined, and the effect of the satisfaction on customer behavior was analyzed from a structural perspective. In addition, the moderating role of fairness was tested. As a result, this study is significant in that it helps service providers formulate service recovery-related strategies.
