Research records have become more important because of the increased significance of the preservation and use of such records. Therefore, many research institutions provide web-based research records archival information services. However, no evaluation of these research records services has been conducted, so problems arise that make discussing the current state of such services and their future improvement difficult. Therefore, this study evaluates web-based archival information services for research records and proposes ways to vitalize them. This study analyzes the characteristics of NTIS and NKIS, which are types of web-based archival information services for research records, and evaluates them using the same evaluation measures. Finally, this study recommends ways to improve web-based archival information services for research records.

This study investigated the status of information services in records and archives centers using the Web to survey and by interviewing archivists and professionals. Services offered are not various, but some actives services including offering records via SNS and provising exibitions using records are offered. Many of the requested records are for evidence and reference for works, and the finding aids are limited in their functions. Also, the barriers in offering services were mostly due to the fact that the duties of managing records are mostly performed by one profession, and they have not enough time to provide services with the lack of manpower. Also the arrangement and description level is not enough and the records systems have limitations including lack of search functions. For better services, improvement of the systems and the supplement of manpower is considered to be most urgent.

Providing archival information services is one of the important tasks carried out by archives. The archives, now, make efforts to provide user-oriented information services which can help users to utilize records and archives more easily. This study reviews and compares user-oriented information services, which National Archives in UK, USA, and Australia have provided actively, in terms of learning support services, research support services, and Special services for public. And then, the study suggests the strategies for improving user-oriented archival information services for archives and the institutes of records management.

In recent years, many users preferred video records, and as the broadcasting video data becomes necessary, the demand for video records' use has increased. However, most broadcasters' archive agencies currently provide archive services only for internal employees, and for the general public. In this study, the web-based online information services provided to the general public in the archive sites of domestic and foreign public broadcasting companies were examined and analyzed. The evaluation criteria for the web-based records information services were identified in three service areas: online accessibility, search and online browsing, and outreach or expansion services. The overseas public broadcasters' web-based services and the public broadcasting companies' current status were examined for each area. Based on the examination, direction improvements, such as providing online search and records, developing various outreach services, and expanding user levels were proposed for the information services on broadcasting video data in public broadcasting companies for the general public.

With development of web, web-archival information services using research records are diversified because values of the records increase in terms of preservation, use and share. Thus, it is necessary to understand and discuss current situation and improvement in future of web-archival information service. This study develops evaluation measures for web-archival information service based on DigiQUAL and NDSLQual, reflecting characteristics of research records. To confirm the validity of the proposed measures, questionnaires were built based on the indicators and distributed to real users of NTIS, which is a case of web-archival information services using research records. Finally, this study analyzes problems of web-archival information services using research records and recommend improvement methods.

This study aims at the fundamental factors needed to make the policy for internet reference service of public records were presented, considering the methods for improvement of internet reference service of national assembly records. For this purpose, reference service theory of recorded informations and examples of foreign congress reference services were analyzed. From the result of analysis, three tasks were proposed as an improvement plan for internet reference services of national assembly records: establishment of access policy, improvement of reference service programs, and activation of communication with users.

This study defines copyrighted public records in broad sense including open government data and public domain except for some private records. Additionally, this study aims to investigate improvement plan for maximizing utilization of copyrighted public records in web-sites using customer side, without consideration of supplier side. For this purpose, qualitative study method was used with grounded theory on analyzed problems from literature review and case study. Literature review was concentrated on definition of open data and abroad utilization indicators whereas case study analyzed current situation of four web-sites providing copyrighted public records. Converged opinions from in-depth interview and various statistical data was analyzed as a basis for grounded theory, then a paradigm model was constructed and future improvement plans were presented. The findings imply that opening of copyrighted public records is not just important for quantitative results, rather it requires qualitative improvement providing latest credible information that is consistent with the demand of the customer. Thus, development of service platform and business models for copyrighted public records are urgent task.

This research is aimed at proposing the policies for enhancing information services at the GARS. To this end, a survey was carried out over the user group, the staff group, and the external expert group. And then the 3-Partner Approach Model was proposed that accommodates the archivist-centered partnership with users and external experts. Based on this model. the three-aspect policies to upgrade information services were proposed.

This research is related to GPS(global positioning system) enabled device navigation service and consists of two parts. The first is the logic that records the route guidance video and records GPS information in time, and the second is the logic that outputs the created video data based on real time GPS. The recording logic first determines the origin and destination, records the video from the origin to the destination and it adjusts the speed of the image in a specific area so that the user can see it easily. And insert ancillary information and advertisements that can help guide the route. In the output logic, we provide navigation services using the video and GPS data tables we created, and it receives user's GPS information in real time and corrects it based on the recent user location to reduce errors. This provides local guidance services to people who lack language skills like foreigners.

As the demand for finding clearer information amid vast information acquisition increases, the enhancement of academic research services is highly important. In 2019, the Presidential Archives opened the only academic research services among the permanent archives management institutions. This study aims to identify the status of the insufficient use of academic research services implemented in the Presidential Archives, analyze problems and requirements through interviews with users who have used the Presidential Archives for academic purposes and conducted research, suggest a plan to upgrade the research services of the Presidential Archives, and offer a plan to improve the services of archives institutions accordingly. Researchers mostly sought information through an online search, but the information gap was large depending on the background knowledge, and the research scope was reduced because of insufficient information. Moreover, problems occurred regarding search tools, records management, and records disclosure, and most users were unaware of the academic research services. Therefore, the advancement plans entailed reducing the information gap among researchers, improving the search tool functions, creating more detailed descriptions of records, resolving geographic constraints, promoting academic research services and developing content, nurturing subject-specialized archivists, and providing online chatting services.
