2009년 발생한 제천시의 토석류 피해분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Analysis of Damages due to Debris Flow at Jecheon in 2009)

  • This paper is results of case study on characteristics of debris flow occurred at Jecheon during a heavy rainfall in 2009. The site studied is the mountain area located at Palsong-ri Bongyang-op in Jecheon-si where serious damages due to debris flow were occurred by heavy rainfall during July 7 to July 16 in 2009. Intensity and duration of rainfall causing debris flow were analyzed on the basis of AWS data. Characteristics of debris flow such as initiation, transportation and deposition were investigated through field reconnaissance. The geological and topographical characteristics of slope where debris flow was triggered were figured out and characteristics of erosion on the bottom and sides of valley during transportation of debris flow were also investigated. The slope and boundary of valley where the debris flow started to be deposited were studied.

  • This research is to select a path planning algorithm to maximize survivability for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV). An UAV is a powered pilotless aircraft, which is controlled remotely or autonomously. UAVs are currently employed in many military missions(surveillance, reconnaissance, communication relay, targeting, strike etc.) and a number of civilian applications(communication service, broadcast service, traffic control support, monitoring, measurement etc.). In this research, a mathematical programming model is suggested by using MRPP(Most Reliable Path Problem) and verified by using ILOG CPLEX. A path planning algorithm for UAV is selected by comparing of SPP(Shortest Path Problem) algorithms which transfer MRPP into SPP.

Analyzing the Modern Warfare and Weapon Systems Supported by Improved GPS Informations

  • This paper focuses on analyzing the modern warfare and weapon systems supported by improved GPS informations. The GPS capability was investigated through the real experimental test for verifying the most recent GPS features under its modernization processing. And then it was verified that such capabilities, accuracy and availability, of a typical L1, C/A code GPS receiver are equivalent to the military receiver's ones. It was also sure that the influence of GPS improved informations on NCW(Network-Centric Warfare), PGM(Precision Guided Munition) and C4SIR(Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) should be increased and the modern warfare may be strongly dependent on GNSS informations.

Estimating PMSG Wind Turbines by Inertia and Droop Control Schemes with Intelligent Fuzzy Controller in Indian Development

  • This paper presents an exploration on the effect of wind turbine contribution to the frequency control of individual systems that can be used for efficient power production in India. The research includes the study of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG), in wind farms. The WTs are tested for inertia and for droop responses with intelligent fuzzy logic controllers (FLC) that choose Double Input Single Output (DISO) strategy that automatically sets gain constants, as well as combined responses for the WTs. Quantitative analyses are presented for the WTs for benefits and drawbacks including appropriate selection parameters. The analysis includes inertia, droop and combined inertia, droop schemes. The reconnaissance also incorporates inertia with FLC, droop with FLC, inertia and droop with FLC schemes for detailed study of WTs, so as to forecast and achieve proper frequency control. Moreover, the analysis provides the best suited method for frequency control in PMSG.

  • The use of robot is no longer limited in the industrial scene, and becoming expanded toward many aspects of human life. Especially, military robot closely concerned with our lives seems to advance more and more in the future. As a need analysis for developing military robot, this project conducted a poll about Unmanned Reconnaissance Robot, and on the basis of the result, I suggested 3 directions of developing UGV(Unmanned Ground Vehicle) suitable to strategic environment of Korea.

  • Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been considered as valuable aerial reconnaissance systems and our army wants capability-enhanced UAVs installed in our territory, hoping that the UAVs will provide enemy information in detail. The enemy information acqcuired by UAVs would be shared by our army's legacy systems. In this article, we made a research on the interoperability between UAVs and Ground Fighting Vehicles (GFVs), laying emphasis on what kinds of tactical information could be exchanged by two different weapon systems. Also, it needs to be addressed that their upper-level commanding systems play a significant role in such operation.

정보 유출 탐지를 위한 머신 러닝 기반 내부자 행위 분석 연구 (A Study on the Insider Behavior Analysis Using Machine Learning for Detecting Information Leakage)

  • In this paper, we design and implement PADIL(Prediction And Detection of Information Leakage) system that predicts and detect information leakage behavior of insider by analyzing network traffic and applying a variety of machine learning methods. we defined the five-level information leakage model(Reconnaissance, Scanning, Access and Escalation, Exfiltration, Obfuscation) by referring to the cyber kill-chain model. In order to perform the machine learning for detecting information leakage, PADIL system extracts various features by analyzing the network traffic and extracts the behavioral features by comparing it with the personal profile information and extracts information leakage level features. We tested various machine learning methods and as a result, the DecisionTree algorithm showed excellent performance in information leakage detection and we showed that performance can be further improved by fine feature selection.

  • 선진/주변국에서는 C4ISR/PGM(Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance/Precision Guided Missile)체계를 미래전의 핵심으로 인식하여 막대한 예산을 투입, 체계를 구축하고 체계의 극대화를 위해서 상호운영성, 표준화 등에 관심을 경주하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 모든 체계는 네트워크로 연결됨에 따라 미래 전의 신종 위협으로 등장한 컴퓨터 바이러스, 웜(worm), 트로이 목마(Trojan Horse), 논리폭탄(Logic bombs), 트랩도어(Trap doors), 칩핑(chipping), 나노 머신으로 분류되는 초소형로봇, EMP/HPM(Electro Magnetic Pulse/High Powered Microwave)등에 대한 취약점을 지니게 되며 이에 대한 대비책도 강구하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 미래 디지털 전쟁의 핵심인 C4ISR/PGM복합체계를 소개하고, 미래전의 특성 및 C4ISR와 PGM체계의 역할에 대해 소개하며, 특히 비대칭 전력으로 선진/주변국에서 강력하게 추진하고 있는 사이버전 현황 및 발전 추세를 제시하고, 정보전의 한계와 문제점도 제시한다.

An Assessment of Urbanization Using Historic Satellite Photography: Columbus Metropolitan Area, Ohio, 1965

  • We present an analysis of urban development and growth with reconnaissance satellite photographs of Columbus metropolitan area acquired by the Corona program in 1965. A two-dimensional polynomial linear transformation was used to rectify the photos against United State Geological Survey (USGS) Large-scale Digital Line Graph (DLG) data georeferenced to Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinates. The boundaries of the Columbus metropolitan area were extracted from the rectified Corona image mosaic using a Bayesian approach to image segmentation. The inferred 1965 urban boundaries were compared with 1976 USGS Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) data and boundaries derived from 1988 and 1994 Landsat TM images. The urban area in and around Columbus approximately doubled from 1965 to 1994 (${\sim}110%$) along with population growth from 1960 to 1998 (${\sim}50%$). Most of the urban expansion results from development of residential units.

WSN 환경에서 AoA를 이용한 에너지 효율적 멀티체이닝 라우팅 프로토콜 (An Energy Efficient Multi-Chaning Routing Protocol using Angle of Arrival for WSN)

  • Wireless sensor network(WSN) is being used in various fields such as reconnaissance, echelon scale identification, weather observation, etc. using small sensors in an environment without a network infrastructure environment. In addition, WSN uses limited battery power, so study on routing protocols to extend the lifetime of the network is important. PEGASIS, a hierarchical routing protocol, accounts for the majority of energy-efficient routing protocol studies and is well known as a representative protocol. In this study, based on PEGASIS, we propose a protocol that constructs multiple chains rather than one chain using the AoA of nodes. The proposed protocol has the advantage of reducing the transmission distance of nodes and eliminating unnecessary transmissions, thereby increasing energy efficiency compared to the existing protocols.
