  • Objectives: This study measures the level of cognition of employee's patient safety culture and evaluates the current level through comparing the results to external levels. Ultimately it is performed to construct a strategic improvement plan through the basic database for patient's safety culture. Methods: A questionnaire survey of self reporting type was carried out using structured questionnaire of the patient's safety culture for employees currently employed in a hospital. Total responders was 1,129 and a response rate was 54.6%. The survey results were calculated with a percent positive response, and the current level was evaluated by comparing with the survey results of a hospital (2009 and 2014) and the survey result of The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality(2014). Results: Sub-dimension of high percent positive response for each area were 'teamwork within hospital units' (80%), 'feedback & communication about error' (73%) and 'supervisor/manager expectations & actions promoting safety' (67%). Meanwhile, 'teamwork across hospital units' (31%), 'hospital management support for patient safety' (29%), 'staffing' (27%) and 'non-punitive response to error' (17%) were relatively low percent positive response. Compared to the survey results of AHRQ (2014) for each area, 'teamwork within hospital units' (80%), 'feedback & communication about error' (73%), 'frequency of event reporting' (66%) were at the top 50% percentile level and the remaining sub-dimensions showed a very low level in the lower 10% percentile area. Conclusion: In order to establish a system for patient safety culture within the hospital and evaluate the effect on this, it is necessary to periodically evaluate the patient's safety culture and establish regulations on hospital safety culture to comply with this.

  • This study is about investigating students' recognition and expression on relationship of 'time, distance, speed' via teaching experiment. In this process, students showed not only a change in perception of the relationship of 'time, distance, speed' but also recognizing the average speed as a viewpoint of the slope of the line connecting the end points of the interval in the distance function as well as another way of perceiving average speed of a height of a rectangle. In this process, the study shows the scene of expanding the relation of 'distance = time ${\times}$ speed' to 'distance = time ${\times}$ average speed', and also the student who makes the continuous reasoning shows the possibility of constructing a new function that can explain the change of the primitive function by allocating the average rate of change to the interval. Although this study was conducted with a limited number of students, this study suggests some implications through the observation of relationship of 'time, distance, speed' the students'. We hope that these results will be the starting point for various studies for constructing the integral learning model in the future.

  • Hepatitis virus infection is one of the major problems in Korea. To establish preventive measures for hepatitis A and B virus infection, study on sero-positivity of serum anti-HAV (aHAV) and anti-HBs (aHBs) is needed. The aim of this study was to analyze the sero-positivity and related factors of aHAV and aHBs. We analysed the sero-positivity of serum aHAV and aHBs using ICA (Immunochromatography Assay) method from 102 university students and employees and questionnaire survey was obtained characteristics, vaccination history, past history test, knowledge and information sources of the study subjects. Overall sero-positivity rates of serum aHAV and aHBs were 20.6% and 52.9%, respectively. The sero-positivity rate of aHBs was significantly different by gender (M, 34.9%; F,66.1%) and that of aHAV was significantly different by age (20 age group, 2.7%; 30 age group, 14.3%; 40 age group, 70%; 50 age group, 91.7%). Overall sero-positivity rates of serum aHAV and aHBs by vaccination history rates were 4.9% and 43.1%, respectively. Overall sero-positivity rates of serum aHAV and aHBs by past history test were 10.8% and 52.9%, respectively. Sero-positivity rates of serum aHAV was low in university students. The results of this study could be used effectively as a basic data for establishing effective preventive measures for hepatitis A including vaccination.

  • Plate tectonics is a dominant paradigm in modern geophysics. Because of its geological mechanism, Korea has a possibility of earthquake according to plate motion. Besides the disaster of earthquake grows rapidly, the importance of recognition for earthquake has been emphasized. This study attempts to decide crustal movement parameters with GPS data, analysed baseline after processing data with GIPSY-OASIS II S/W, observed from 6 stations in and around the Korean peninsula, and obtained from selected 11 stations in Korea. As a results, maximum shear strain was $0.04{\mu}/yr$ and the mean azimuth of the maximum compression axes$(A_{z2})$ is estimated as $97.75^{\circ}$ in and around the Korean peninsula. The average rate of the maximum shear strain($({\gamma}_max)$) is $0.17{\mu}/yr$. The mean azimuth of the maximum compression axes$(A_{z2})$ is estimated as $70.25^{\circ}$ in Korea. Such a pattern of strain distribution is harmonious with that of seismic activity in Korea both historically as well as today.

  • Job satisfaction is very important for adequate manpower management in the medical field. To study job satisfaction among the radiologic technologists, 344 cases were reviewed in five university hospitals and one general hospital. Self-administered questionnaire was used to study their socioeconomic characteristics, working conditions, job satisfaction, and the factors affecting there Job satisfaction. The results were as follows : 1. There was statistically significant difference in job satisfaction according to the their department of employment, position, and hospital characteristics. 2. The group that was satisfied with their salary had a higher job satisfaction score, whereas others who were not satisfied ranked lower. 3. The positive answering group on the ability and job recognition ranked higher score on the job satisfaction than the negative answering group. 4. The group that was in good relationship with their superiors and co-workers scored higher on job satisfaction From the above results, the job satisfaction was high for the group with positive thinking and reply, but the intentin to change their job was low. Considering the fact that these results represent only 6 hospitals from limited arease, therefore, necessary to include more medical facilities nationwide, especially small-medium sized clinics or hospitals where the difficulty with high turnover rate of employment is expected, to study further various factors involving job satisfaction in the future.

  • Background : Efforts towards increasing insurance coverage for traditional Korean medicine (TKM) are being continued. However, various difficulties are faced in generating evidence for TKM due to limited financial support and the low quality of research methodology. Objectives : The objectives of this study were to review the Swiss evaluation program for complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and assess the expansion in public health insurance coverage of complementary medicine as approved by referendum in Switzerland. Methods : The regulations of CAM in the European Union were assessed. Research articles, reports, government publications and websites which deal with the 'Programm Evaluation $Komplement{\ddot{a}}rmedizin$ (PEK)' and the referendum in Switzerland were searched for and analyzed. Results : The PEK was conducted from 1998 to 2005. The PEK evaluated the efficacy, utilization and cost-effectiveness of anthroposophical medicine, homeopathy, neural therapy, phytotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine. However, clear conclusions could not be drawn from the evaluation according to the PEK Report. Later, a referendum was implemented in which 5 therapies would be added to the Switzerland Constitution with the support of the public. The coverage of CAM was approved by Swiss a plebiscite with an approval rate of 67.0%. Conclusions : The reason for the successful referendum is suggested to be public support and the solidarity with CAM experts and politicians. It may be surmised that recognition of the political efforts and scientific aspects required to expand insurance coverage of TKM, and towards obtaining public support, is necessary.

  • Despite young age, Internet, as new advertising media, is actively studied worldwide. In 1995, the department of multimedia-related study was first founded in Technical Institute and has carried out the On Internet banner, user is not an object to accept only a message but has a specification to contact with banner actively having various motivation and desire. Internet advertising has various types but banner and e-mail type advertising are main stream. In the view point of recognition and concern rate, banner is very effective because it does not set limit to specific target, but is shown to unspecific audience. Acceding to studies, usage frequency and effect of e-mail type advertising is growing up. And e-mail type advertising is more active because it can target specific audience with various life style. If we can say banner is not so effective in spite of simply good exposure frequency, we can find theoritical background that e-mail type advertising is more effective internet advertising media because high click frequency. And we suppose that this study can be a guide line for measuring process of Internet advertising effect.

  • Recently, new approaches that significantly improve performance in object detection and recognition using deep learning technology have been proposed quickly. Of the various techniques for object detection, especially facial object detection (Faster R-CNN, R-CNN, YOLO, SSD, etc), SSD is superior in accuracy and speed to other techniques. At the same time, multiple object detection networks are also readily available. In this paper, among object detection networks, Mobilenet v2 network is used, models combined with SSDs are trained, and methods for detecting objects at a rate of four times or more than conventional performance are proposed using TensorRT engine, and the performance is verified through experiments. Facial object detector was created as an application to verify the performance of the proposed method, and its behavior and performance were tested in various situations.

  • The current trend of the education market is the development of the fourth industrial revolution and the development of ICT, and various technologies are developing into edu-tech technology that is integrated into the education system. In particular, the market for edu-tech systems capable of lifelike immersive learning effects in virtual space is expanding. However, education in Korean medicine is not objective because of the absence of educational simulators and systems to train and evaluate acupuncture. In this paper, we propose an acupuncture controller and a human body model to increase the effectiveness of acupuncture point training as a follow-up study of "Design of Acupuncture Contents and Dummy for Acupuncture Point Training System". Through the proposed acupuncture controller and Dummy, the accuracy of acupuncture points for the acupuncture point data matching and content motion recognition rate is presented. In addition, the results of temperature and humidity and temperature change tests for evaluating the environmental reliability of the controller are presented.
