Purpose: With the recent recognition of the importance of soft-tissue fillers, fat grafting has been assumed an increasingly important role as both an adjunctive and a primary procedure in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. The main problem in achieving long-term soft-tissue augmentation is partial absorption of the injected fat and hence the need for overcorrection and re-injection. The purpose of this study is to improve the viability of the injected fat by the use of Lipo-PGE1. Methods: Human adipose tissue, obtained by suctionassisted lipectomy, was re -injected into the subcutaneous layer in the scalp of ICR mice. Lipo-PGE1 ($0.5{\mu}g$/kg) was injected intravenously in experimental group for 7 days from the operation day and saline was injected in control group. There were 5 animals in each group. The animals were euthanized 4 weeks after the procedure. Graft weight and volume were measured and histologic evaluation was performed. Result: Histologic analysis demonstrated significantly less cyst formation and less inflammatory reaction in the group treated with Lipo-PGE1. No significant difference was found between the groups regarding graft volume or the other histologic parameters investigated. Significant differences were demonstrated in microvascular density count. Conclusion: Less cyst formation, less inflammation, more angiogenesis indicating improved quality of the injected fat can be obtained by the addition of Lipo-PGE1. Further studies of various dosages of Lipo-PGE1 and their long-term effect are required before these encouraging results could be applied clinically.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the risk of school bullying victimization and the risk of Internet gaming disorder according to gender in adolescents. Methods: The data of 1,920 middle school students collected at the baseline of the Internet user Cohort for Unbiased Recognition of gaming disorder in Early Adolescence (iCURE) study were analyzed. For statistical analysis, $x^2$ test, t-test and stratified multiple logistic regression analysis were conducted using SAS 9.4. Results: The prevalence rate of Internet gaming disorder of middle school boys was greater than that of girls (Boys: 9.9%, Girls: 6.2%). The greater the risk of school bullying victimization, the greater both the risk of Internet gaming disorder and the average daily time spent on Internet gaming. In girls, the relationship between the experience of being bullied in school and Internet gaming disorder was not statistically significant. However, the boys who had been bullied in school were 3.2 times more vulnerable to the risk of Internet gaming disorder than those without such experience (95% CI: 1.135-8.779). Conclusions: When considering interventions for Internet gaming disorder for adolescents, bullying victimization should be taken into account as well. Particularly, relieving stress related to bullying victimization can be important for boys with Internet gaming disorder.
We proposed the device to control a computer with only a head and eye blinks so that disabilities by car accidents can use a computer. Because they have paralysis of their upper extremities such as C4~C5 paraplegics and cerebral palsy, they cannot efficiently access a general keyboard/mouse not using hands and foots. The cursor position was estimated from a gyro-sensor which can measure head movements, and the mouse event such as click/double click from opto-sensors which can detect eye blinks. The sensor was put on the proper goggle in order not to disturb the visual field. The performance of the proposed device was compared to a general optical mouse, and was used both relative and absolute coordinate in cursor positioning control. The recognition rate of click and double-click was 86% of the optical mouse, the speed of cursor movement by the proposed device was not much different from the mouse. The overall accuracy was 80%. Especially, the relative coordinate is more convenience and accuracy than the absolute coordinate, and can reduce the frequency of reset to prevent the accumulative error.
In this paper we propose a new Hybrid learning rule applied to multilayer feedforward neural networks, which is constructed by combining Hebbian learning rule that is a good feature extractor and Back-Propagation(BP) learning rule that is an excellent classifier. Unlike the BP rule used in multi-layer perceptron(MLP), the proposed Hybrid learning rule is used for uptate of all connection weights except for output connection weigths becase the Hebbian learning in output layer does not guarantee learning convergence. To evaluate the performance, the proposed hybrid rule is applied to classifier problems in two dimensional space and shows better performance than the one applied only by the BP rule. In terms of learning speed the proposed rule converges faster than the conventional BP. For example, the learning of the proposed Hybrid can be done in 2/10 of the iterations that are required for BP, while the recognition rate of the proposed Hybrid is improved by about $0.778\%$ at the peak.
In speech corpus generation and speech recognition, it is sometimes needed to segment the input speech data without any prior knowledge. A method to accomplish this kind of segmentation, often called as blind segmentation, or acoustic segmentation, is to find boundaries which minimize the Euclidean distances among the feature vectors of each segments. However, the use of this metric alone is prone to errors because of the fluctuations or variations of the feature vectors within a segment. In this paper, we introduce the principal component analysis method to take the trend of feature vectors into consideration, so that the proposed distance measure be the distance between feature vectors and their projected points on the principal components. The proposed distance measure is applied in the LBDP(level building dynamic programming) algorithm for an experimentation of continuous speech segmentation. The result was rather promising, resulting in 3-6% reduction in deletion rate compared to the pure Euclidean measure.

During the follow-up period after surgery for spinal dysraphism, a certain portion of patients show neurological deterioration and its secondary phenomena, such as motor, sensory or sphincter changes, foot and spinal deformities, pain, and spasticity. These clinical manifestations are caused by tethering effects on the neural structures at the site of previous operation. The widespread recognition of retethering drew the attention of medical professionals of various specialties because of its incidence, which is not low when surveillance is adequate, and its progressive nature. This article reviews the literature on the incidence and timing of deterioration, predisposing factors for retethering, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, surgical treatment and its complications, clinical outcomes, prognostic factors after retethering surgery and preventive measures of retethering. Current practice and opinions of Seoul National University Children's Hospital team were added in some parts. The literature shows a wide range of data regarding the incidence, rate and degree of surgical complications and long-term outcomes. The method of prevention is still one of the main topics of this entity. Although alternatives such as spinal column shortening were introduced, re-untethering by conventional surgical methods remains the current main management tool. Re-untethering surgery is a much more difficult task than primary untethering surgery. Updated publications include strong skepticism on re-untethering surgery in a certain group of patients, though it is from a minority of research groups. For all of the abovementioned reasons, new information and ideas on the early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of retethering are critically necessary in this era.
The effects of a nutritional education program for first grade middle school students were evaluated from August to December, 2006. The study subjects were 82 boys and 90 girls, residing in Gwangju, Korea. To assess the effects of the nutritional education program, pre- and post-questionnaires examining nutritional knowledge, dietary attitudes, and dietary habits were developed. Paired t-test and repeated measures ANOVA were used to evaluate the effects of the nutritional education program. In the general subject, the main after-school activities were studying, watching TV, and using computer (85.5%), and sports (9.3%), suggesting their low physical activity. Parents (46.5%) were indicated as the source of nutritional education rather than teachers (13.4%). Twenty-five percent of girl students had diet experience of skipping meals (54.6%), suggesting the need of proper nutritional education for adolescents' health care. In dietary attitudes, both genders showed some improvement of recognition after education. In the changes in dietary habits, both genders had a significant effect on 'three meals a day, eating breakfast, and regular meal' after education. After education, the rate of having breakfast everyday increased from 52.4% to 65.9% for boys and from 33.3%to 57.8% for girls. In the changes in nutritional knowledge, the appreciation of the importance of school meals increased in both genders from 50.6% to 80.8% after education. The nutritional knowledge, scores of regular eating and well-mannered eating increased in both genders regardless of the students' characteristics. The study results revealed that this education provided an important motivation to improve basic nutritional knowledge and dietary habit. It is recommended to develop systematic and various educational programs and learning materials tailored to subjects before nutritional education.

In this paper, we propose a system for transmitting army hand signals using motion sensors. The proposed system consists of a squad commander device, squad member devices, and a server. The squad command device and squad member device have been implemented using a micro arduino, an accelerometer sensor, and a gyroscope sensor, and the server has been implemented using a Rasberry Pi 3. Because the devices are made in the form of band, they are lightweight and portable. The proposed system can transmit the hand signals through vibration in conditions of poor visibility. We have designed and implemented the squad member device to be able to recognize four military hand signals. Through experiments, the proposed system have shown 88.82% of correct recognition. In conclusion, we expect to increase effectiveness of army operations and survival rate of soldiers.
Egg cholesterol has been a hot issue in respect of it's effect on health and diseases in human. There is a general recognition that the cholesterol from eggs is similar to that from the other dietary sources in its biochemical functions. Many evidences show that egg yolk increased plasma cholesterol levels at an average rate of 2.3 mg /100 rnL plasma for every 100 mg cholesterol consumed. The elevation of plasma cholesterol could, however, be altered by various dietary factors such as ratios of polyunsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acids. Blood cholesterol levels of Korean adults have been raised up to, on the average, 193 and 187 mg /100 mL plasma for men and women, respectively, from 167/5 mg /100 mL in 1980. Furthermore, proportion of hypercholesterolemics(> 210 mg /dL) has been increased up to 23% of the population. These changes in blood cholesterol levels are attributed to the changes of dietary patterns, suggesting the arguement that Koreans are insensitive to changes of blood cholesterol is not right. Egg cholesterol levels have never been successfully reduced to any significant levels even with tremendous amounts of efforts made during last decades. The alternative and the best way to control blood cholesterol level originating from egg consumption appeares to enrich egg fat with omega-3 series fatty acids. Ingestion of the fatty acid group has specific functions to reduce hypertension and prevent various types of cancer as well as to reduce blood cholesterol. Another way to reduce egg cholesterol directly is to produce smaller egg yolk without reducing whole egg size since cholesterol is located only in the yolk. It is important to keep faith with consumers by providing correct informations on eggs, meanwhile efforts need to focus on to improve the quality of eggs as one of the best protein food items.

Purpose: Traumatic diaphragmatic injury (TDI) is no longer considered to be a rare condition in Korea. This study investigated differences in the prevalence of accompanying injuries and the prognosis in patients with traumatic diaphragmatic damage according to the mechanism of injury. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with TDI who were seen at a regional emergency medical center from January 2000 to December 2018. Among severe trauma patients with traumatic diaphragmatic damage, adults older than 18 years of age with a known mechanism of injury were included in this study. Surgery performed within 6 hours after the injury was sustained was defined as emergency surgery. We assessed the survival rate and likelihood of respiratory compromise according to the mechanism of injury. Results: In total, 103 patients were analyzed. The patients were categorized according to whether they had experienced a penetrating injury or a blunt injury. Thirty-five patients had sustained a penetrating injury, and traffic accidents were the most common cause of blunt injuries. The location of the injury did not show a statistically significant difference between these groups. Severity of TDI was more common in the blunt injury group than in the penetrating injury group, and was also more likely in patients with respiratory compromise. However, sex, the extent of damage, and the initial Glasgow coma scale score had no significant relationship with severity. Conclusions: Based on the findings of this study, TDI should be recognized and managed proactively in patients with blunt injury and/or respiratory compromise. Early recognition and implementation of an appropriate management strategy would improve patients' prognosis. Multi-center, prospective studies are needed in the future.
