  • A modified Hybrid learning rule(MHLR) is proposed, which is derived from combining the Back Propagation algorithm that is known as an excellent classifier with modified Hebbian by changing the orginal Hebbian which is a good feature extractor. The network architecture of MHLR is multi-layered neural network. The weights of MHLR are calculated from sum of the weight of BP and the weight of modified Hebbian between input layer and higgen layer and from the weight of BP between gidden layer and output layer. To evaluate the performance, BP, MHLR and the proposed Hybrid learning rule (HLR) are simulated by Monte Carlo method. As the result, MHLR is the best in recognition rate and HLR is the second. In learning speed, HLR and MHLR are much the same, while BP is relatively slow.

  • The purpose of this study finds that (1) history of the First birthday rite(첫돌 의례) and (2) changing process of the First birthday\`s dress and ornaments(첫돌 복식). The results of this study are as follows. The history of the first birthday rite has been continued vary long years in Korea, but it\`s origin is not clearness. The purpose and form of the first birthday rite are vary similarity in China and Korea. The rate of infant mortality was regarded that an absolute element of the first birthday rite. Making process of the first birthday\`s dress and ornaments was not definite, The adoption of that\`s form and elements act on affect local·homely·individual situation. First birthday\`s dress and ornaments was changed by changing process and convert of recognition about First birthday rite. It shows that the change of rites clothing contacted with changing process of rites.

  • This research is progressed to look out for efficient expression-elements of eroticism used in advertisements. Since these expressions of eroticism appealing to sex which is one of the primitive instincts of mankind are increasing in advertisements of cosmetic products which are used more often by recent high-rate-growth and the elevation of living conditions. The most usual expression-elements of eroticism in advertisement are exposure, pose, fashion style, make up, hair style and color. To analyze those expression-elements we made four pieces of fashion advertisement photos with four different types and surveyed both fashion majored students and non-fashion majored students. We applied regression analysis, ANOVA, and frequency analysis to verify the hypothesis. We found that in eroticism, the pose was the most important cognitive feature among the expression-elements and degree of cognition are varied according to major field and sexual interest. As a result, degree of cognition which effected by expression-elements will be varied even in same advertisement. In particular, convincing that the pose was the significant factor of eroticism cognition, expression of eroticism in advertisement would be more diverse and daring.

  • In this paper, I propose a method for detection of look-alike offenders by using hidden face information. For extraction of moving objects, PRA matching is used to extract moving components, and brightness changes can be dealt with by an adaptive threshold adjusting in the proposed method. Moving objects extracted in the territory of the face region is extracted using the complexion, facial area, eyes, nose, mouth. The extracted information detected by the presence of these characteristics were likely to help judge a person. Results of the extracted face makes the recognition rate of possible murderers 90% so the usefulness of the proposed method was confirmed.

  • This paper describes PD patterns in GIS recognized by using neural network proposed in this paper PD sources in GIS were classified by four states and PD signals were expressed by $\Phi-Q$ distribution, ${\Phi]-Q_m$ distribution, $\Phi-N$ distribution and Q-N distribution. Then statistical operators were extracted from each distributions. As a result, the PD pattern recognizing rate in GIS using neural network proposed in this paper was increased.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the college and university student's perception on the brand awareness of contract foodservice management company in Incheon area. The developed questionnaires were distributed to the college and university students in Incheon area from September 20 to September 24 in 2004. Total 198 questionnaires were used for the final data analysis with response rate of 82.5%. The results showed that 85 % of the students has known that the foodservice operation was managed by contracted management company, only 56.5% of them have known the exact name of contract foodservice management company managing their cafeteria. It was recommended therefore that contract foodservice management company need more efforts for widening public activities for their company's name.

  • Detecting marker coordinates is important in augmented reality system based on tag. If a marker is not detected, objects can't be augmented. In this paper, we propose a noise reduction method for augmented reality. Using a blue color space to HIS color transformation was performed on the binary. Erosion operator and the dilation operator of the binary images were performed. Experimental results show that proposed method produces a tag image recognizable in various light environments. And using the area of the rectangle, the labeling could be detected through the tag. Tag recognition rate is improved by removing noise.

  • This paper presents a method which can recognized the Handwritten Korean characters by using a Context-Free Grammar. The input characters are thinned in order to dwindle the mount of data, the thinned characters are converted into one-dimension strings according to six-forms. when the point of contact among phonemes is found, two phonemes are seperated respectively by marking the index mark (\) at the points. The Context-Free Grammar to input characters is classified into group grammars concerning the similarity of phonemes, input characters are parsed by making use of the Pushdown automata method. As the bent parts in the Handwritten characters are found frequently, We try to correct the bent parts by using the parsing distance measure, which recognize characters according to minium value caused by measuring the weight distance between two sentences. In this experiment, the recognition rate shows 93.8% to 275 Handwritten Korean characters.

  • Face detection plays an important role in HCI and face recognition. In this paper, we propose a rotation-invariant real-time face detection algorithm for color images in complex background. It consists of four processing step: (1) motion detection, (2) skin color region filler, (3) Eyemap detector for rotated face, and (4) Adaboost face classifier. This system has been tested in in-door environments, such as office and achieves over 95% detection rate.

  • In the Pediatric Dentalc profession the occurrence rate intrusion of young permanent teeth is rather low, and the treatment method varies from one another. Intrusion of the teeth bring complications to the pulp and periodontal ligament, and thus the possibility of endodontic treatment increases. For the formation of calcific barriers, calcium hydroxide is used in young permanent teeth and this makes the final canal filling possible. In this case report, we will show two cases of young permanent teeth intrusion and the treatment methods to help assess the recognition of treatment for young permanent teeth intrusion.
