Design and Fabrication of a Multi-Function Circuit to Implement Hybrid-Conversion RF Front-End for Broadband and Multiband System (광대역 및 다중 대역 시스템용 혼성 변환 방식 RF 전단부 구현을 위한 다중 기능 회로의 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper, we propose a RF front-end architecture based on hybrid conversion which is available to receive both broadband and multiband DVB-H receiver, and a multi-function circuit for implementing the RF front-end is fabricated. A multi-function circuit is operated as a sub-harmonic mixer mode in the case of receiving a broadband VHF/UHF band, which show a conversion loss of -10.0 dB, noise figure of 7.0 dB and IIP3 of 2.0 dBm. On the other hand, it is performed as a attenuation mode with a insertion loss of -10.0 dB in receiving a multiband, L-band.

  • This paper shows effects of tropospheric delay models among delay features occurred when GPS code signal is transferred for GPS Time Transfer. GPS time transfer uses CGGTTS as the international standard format. For geodetic GPS receiver, ROB has provided r2cggtts software which generates CGGTTS data from RINEX data and all laboratories participated in TAI link uses the software and send the CGGTTS results periodically. Though Saastamoinen model and Niell mapping function are commonly used in space geodesy, r2cggtts software applied NATO model and CHAO mapping function to the tropospheric delay model. Hence, this paper shows effects of two tropospheric delay models implementing Saastamoinen model and Niell mapping function for the time offset.

  • In this paper, the measuring method of underwater acoustic communication channel characteristics in the shallow water using the autocorrelation characteristic of PN sequence and the undorwater communication channel analysis results from the received signal sample data are described. For measuring the underwater acoustic communication channel characteristics, two PN sequences are used as a transmitted data of I-channel and Q-channel of QPSK symbol and QPSK signal is transmitted with symbol rate of 5 kHz and carrier frequency of 25 kHz. In the receiver the received signal, which pass through 675 m and 1492 m, is sampled and then stored. Using the stored sample data, the scattering function, coherent time, delay power profile, spaced-tone autocorrelation function, delay spread, and coherent bandwidth of each propagation distance cases are analyzed. Based on the analysis results, several guidelines are suggested for the design and implementation of underwater transmission system.

  • 본 논문에서는 시간 선택성 다중경로 이동 무선 채널을 다양한 방법으로 모델링 하고 그에 따른 여러 가지 특성평가를 제시하였다. 모델링 방법에는 Jakes 방식과 시간 영역에서 독립적인 두 개의 가우시안 잡음 발생기와 정형필터(shaping filter)를 사용하는 방식 및 주파수 영역에서 필터링 하는 방식이 있다. 이 세 가지 모델링 방법의 성능을 진폭의 자기상관함수, 상호상관함수, 누적분포함수(Cumulative Distribution Function), 레벨 교차율(Level Crossing Rate), 평균 페이딩 지속 시간(Average Duration of Fades), 위상차의 확률 밀도, 위상차의 자기상관함수 등의 측면에서 시뮬레이션하고 그 결과치와 이론치 간의 특성 비교를 제시하였다. 특히, 확산 대역 시스템을 고려했을 때 이상적인 채널 추정을 가정한 레이크 수신기에서의 BER 성능을 다중경로 개수에 따라 보임으로써 여러 가지 채널 모델링 중에서 주파수 영역에서 필터링 하는 방식이 이동 무선 채널을 모델링 하는데 있어 가장 적합하다는 것을 보였다. 마지막으로 비대칭 도플러(Doppler) 스펙트럼을 모델링 하는 것도 주파수 영역에서 필터링 하는 방식이 편리하다.

  • In this paper, the performance of the W-CDMA system with smart antenna is investigated. The channel is assumed as wideband realistic channel mode, JTC(Joint Technique Committee), which has clustered multipaths. The beamforming-RAKE receiver structure is proposed, whose performance is analyzed on the assumption of the perfect channel estimation. In a simulation, the probability density function(pdf) of SINR(Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio) according to the number of antennas and users is presented. And based on the pdf of SINR, the BER(Bit Error Rate) is presented. According to the result of a simulation, the performance of the W-CDMA system with smart antenna over the realistic JTC channel model has been considerably improved.

  • The proposed system in this paper utilizes the SIP and self-defined control protocol to provide global wireless communication over the data link of Orbcomm system. Main processor board connected to Orbcomm communication subscriber is designed to interface with digital I/O and AD/DA convertor for various application of control and .measurement. Hardware system implemented in this paper also includes the function of real-time clock and position report using GPS receiver The experimental result of the proposed global wireless communication system is evaluated via real-time experiments, and we have confirmed it works well according to the protocol designed in this paper.

It is also assumed that multipaths are clustered. The beamforming-RAKE receiver structure of W-CDMA system is proposed, whose performance is analyzed on the assumption of perfect channel estimation. Device Development for Longshore Current Measurement and Model Test (연안류 추적 장치 개발 및 모형 실험)

  • Longshore current is main transportation mean causing movement of bed load and suspended particle in coastal waters, and effective measurement method and suitable equipment for shallow water coastal environment where is frequently exposed to atmosphere. Measurement equipment for longshore drift was designed and miniature model was applied to Gyeongpo beach in May and June, 2014. The equipment consists of three main elements, spheroid outer casing, spheroid inner casing, observation module equipped with GPS. Gyroscope principle was applied to observation module, and GPS receiver always can be directed upwards. Miniature models were installed along Gyeonpo beach, and it was well to track the flow of longshore current. This research described the design and function of the equipment and results of field experiments.

  • In spite of widely deploying information broadcasting services based on Internet, there are some limitations to use them due to the bound of Internet protocol. In this paper, a new Internet broadcasting technology for access network and Location Based Services are proposed by employing IP address translation function in base station. There are some advantages such as, no need to allocate IP address to receiver no need to know web site address, and reduction of traffic for server and network.

  • In this paper, a dynamic modeling for the velocity and position information of a single frequency stand-alone GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver is described. In static condition, the position error dynamic model is identified as a first/second order transfer function, and the velocity error model is identified as a band-limited Gaussian white noise via non-parametric method of a PSD(Power Spectrum Density) estimation in continuous time domain. A Kalman filter is proposed considering both correlated/white measurements noise based on identified GPS error model. The performance of the proposed Kalman filtering method is verified via numerical simulation.
