The turnout system is typical railway facility to be in the way of conventional railway line's speed-up. The KNR(Korean National Railroad) :has a speed limit regulation(130km/h) for the passing the turnout to guarantee a safety. This research had been performed to confirm the propriety of this regulation by using experimental and analytical way before it was carried out. The reasonableness of the speed-limit regulation was judged base on the several experiments. It was proved that the regulation was not useless as it had been regarded and very important guide at least up to now.

This study analyzes some important spin-off effects of the provision, UCP600 Article 14(6), through the methodology of the expected utility maximization theory based on the state-contingent commodities model. Some technical implications of this study are as follows. First, the risk-averse beneficiary will choose to present his documents more than 5 days before expiry date by paying a higher risk premium (so-called cure period) for full assurance to cure documentary discrepancies, if expressed economically, he pursues loss reducing activities to the point where the expected marginal product of his activities is less than its marginal cost. Secondly, where the effectiveness of securing cure period is uncertain, the risk-averse beneficiary will choose to present documents just on the expiry date without securing any cure period by paying no risk premium. This study finally suggests the safe harbor standard should be optimal solution only if it is supplemented by the hidden reasonableness standard for balancing the conflicts of interest between beneficiaries and banks.

PURPOSES : This study evaluates the reasonableness of the recommended amount of deicing chemicals based on historical data for snow removal. The result can be used to aid decision-making for the reservation of cost-effective de-icing chemicals. METHODS : First, the recommended amount of de-icing chemical to use and historical usage data were evaluated to identify specific usage characteristics for each region. Road maintenance length and snow-removal working days were analyzed over the past five winter seasons. Next, differences in the recommended amount of chemical to use and actual use were compared using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Last, the two types of data were analyzed using a chi-square test to verify if the two distributions of variation pattern are statistically significant. We found that there are significant differences between the data from each region during the past five winter seasons. RESULTS : The results showed that the equation for calculating the amount of de-icing chemical to use appears to be revised. CONCLUSIONS : The results imply that the equation for calculating the amount of de-icing chemical to apply as a national standard is very important when the public agency makes decisions related to snow-removal.

A new method, the Triple I method is proposed for solving the problem of fuzzy reasoning. The Triple I method for solving fuzzy modus ponens is compared with the CRI method i.e., Compositional Rule of Inference and reasonableness of the Triple I method is clarified. Moreover the Triple I method can be generalized to provide a theory of sustentation degrees. Lastly, the Triple I method can be bring into the framework of classic logics.

This study asserted the need and reasonableness to enforce the consumer support administration especially in local government and also examine the area of service to help consumer the service providing system and the current situation. Based on this literature review survey on consumer need current situation in Pucheon city and case study of two other city this study propose the strategies on how the local government of Pucheon city can improve the service to support consumer.

In this paper, traction system and electric devices of a double deck train were designed to examine technical reasonableness for driving on the ground and underground. Double deck trains operated in other countries were also considered. For designing the electric devices, two types of accelerations and electric devices arrangements which are based on the current subway system were considered.

One of the major challenges confronting a multiservice electric utility is the establishment of the right prices, for its services. The key objectives of particular pricing schemes are reasonableness of company earnings. Economic efficiency, the responsiveness of supply and of the allocation of sources to the desires of consumers, and maintenance of some degree of competition. This paper proposes a value-based pricing mechanism amenable to the current deregulation situation in electricity market allowing service differentiation. The proposed pricing mechanism can be implemented ina nodal auction model, and can also be applied to direct load control.
