  • In this paper, the real time simulation of continuous dynamic system was performed by general integration algorithms using multiprocessor. For the stable simulation, the relation between stability of integration method and integration step-size was investigated from the stability graph. As a typical illustration, the real-time digital simulation and the real-time hard-ware-in-the-loop simulation of flight control system were performed and reviewed. Moreover through the real-time simulation, the design verification and performace test of flight control system could be evaluated. The computer used for simulation is AD10, which is a very high-speed special-purpose computer designed specifically for a time-critical simulation of large and complex models of dynamic systems. The simulation validity is demonstrated by comparing hardware simulation results with software simulation results.

  • The Android OS has quickly established itself with the smartphone market and is being applied in a variety of ways such as navigation and refrigerator panels. Existing terminals can implement services that require high precision while using RTOS that requires accurate execution time, but Android OS has a disadvantage in that it cannot provide high-precision real-time performance. In this paper, we propose a real-time communication method that operates in the Android OS. Real-time communication reduces the load using the UDP protocol, and configures the real-time operating system time tick through a high-precision timer in the kernel area. An Android application level library was created to implement real-time communication and compared with the existing Android library for real-time performance verification.

  • Synchronous computing models provided by real-time synchrony protocols, such as TTA [1] and PALS [2], greatly simplify the design, implementation, and verification of real-time distributed systems. However, their application to real systems has been limited since their assumptions on underlying systems are hard to satisfy. In particular, most previous real-time synchrony protocols hypothesize the existence of underlying fault tolerant real-time networks. This, however, might not be true in most soft real-time applications. In this paper, we propose a practical approach to a synchrony protocol, called Quality-Aware PALS (qPALS), which provides the benefits of a synchronous computing model in environments where no fault-tolerant real-time network is available. qPALS supports two flexible global synchronization protocols: one tailored for the performance and the other for the correctness of synchronization. Hence, applications can make a negotiation flexibly between performance and correctness. In qPALS, the Quality-of-Service (QoS) on synchronization and consistency is specified in a probabilistic manner, and the specified QoS is supported under dynamic and unpredictable network environments via a control-theoretic approach. Our simulation results show that qPALS supports highly reliable synchronization for critical events while still supporting the efficiency and performance even when the underlying network is not stable.

  • Recently ubiquitous application services are developed plentifully using RFID techniques in the field of distribution and security industries. However, except these field the applications using RFID are not mature yet. In this study, we proposed a real-time context service model of the u-conference based on the real-time contextual information acquired from conference and exposition. With collection of real-time contextual information for u-conference, the model can provide a lot of information services on the state of session attendee, doorway control, affairs, user certification, presentation progress etc. For the verification of proposed real-time context service model of u-conference, we design and implement the conference progress state service included the state of session attendee, user certification and presentation progress etc. This service provides the presentation state information included the current presenter, the paper list, the number of session attendee, the schedule and place of each session using the collecting RFID tag and the related information.

  • In this study in order to confirm the algorithms that are suggested from paper (I) as the experimental result, as the applied results of the hydraulic servo system are very strong a non-linearity of the fluid in the computer simulation, the real-time adaptive learning control algorithms is validated. The evolutionary strategy has characteristics that are automatically. adjusted in search regions with natural competition among many individuals. The error that is generated from the dynamic system is applied to the mutation equation. Competitive individuals are reduced with automatic adjustments of the search region in accord with the error. In this paper, the individual parents and offspring can be reduced in order to apply evolutionary algorithms in real-time as the description of the paper (I). The possibility of a new approaching algorithm that is suggested from the computer simulation of the paper (I) would be proved as the verification of a real-time test and the consideration its influence from the actual experiment.

  • In this paper, we developed a new and robust algorithm for a practical and very efficient MPEG-4 video coding. The MPEG-4 video group has developed the video Verification Model(VM) which evolved through time by means of core experiments. And in the standardization process, MS-FDAM was developed based on the standard document of ISO/IEC 14496-2 and VM as a reference MPEG-4 coding system. But MS -FDAM has drawbacks in practical MPEG-4 coding and it does not have the VOP extraction functionality. In this research, we implemented a preprocessing system for a real-time input and the VOP extraction for a practical content-based MPEG-4 video coding and also implemented the motion detection to achieve the high compression rate of 180:1.

The real-time parallel processing simulator developed here consists of seeker emulator generating infrared image signal on aircraft, real-time computer, host computer, system unit, and actual equipments such as auto-pilot processor and seeker processor. Software is developed from mathematic models, 6 degree-of-freedom module, aerodynamic module which are resided in real-time computer, and graphic user interface program resided in host computer. The real-time computer consists of six TIC-40 processors connected in parallel. The seeker emulator is designed by using analog circuits coupled with mechanical equipments. The system unit provides interface function to match impedance between the components and processes very small electrical signals. Also real launch unit of missiles is interfaced to simulator through system unit. In order to apply the real-time parallel processing simulator to performance analysis equipment of rolling missiles it is essential to perform the performance verification test of simulator.

  • OCSP has specific characters which can suspend, close, and correct in real time. But, as more clients use the OCSP server verification, more updated information is needed, which can lead to jamming in the OCSP server. To apply this technique of Distributed OCSP server so as to reduce the certificate verification OCSP from jamming. Also, the Distributed OCSP server will solve the problems of the intensive central structure. Simulation results show that the average reply time of certificate verification request and server load are reduced in the case using distributed OCSP. In addition to this advantage, resource distribution and fault tolerance are acquired because of multiple OCSP.

  • Traffic simulation models have been used for assessing various transportation strategies. Through comparing results from a simulation model and real field data, researchers try to show how close the model can reproduce the real world traffic. This model verification step is one of the most essential tasks in modeling procedure. Traffic counts and speeds have been frequently used for the verification or validation. Authors modeled severe PM peak bottleneck situation on the I-40 corridor in Raleigh, North Carolina using DYNASMART-P, a mesoscopic traffic simulation tool and verified the model. NCDOT has Traffic Information Management System which has archive capability for the traffic speeds on the I-40 corridor. However, the authors selected travel time as the field measure for model verification and collected the data using a GPS equipment because the speed data from NCDOT speed detectors are spot speeds which are not appropriate for comparison with link average speed from the simulation model. This paper describes the GPS field data collection procedure, the model verification method, and the results.

  • Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS) is a satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS) that provides approach procedure with vertical guidance-I (APV-I) level corrections and integrity information to Korea territory. KASS is used to monitor navigation performance in real-time, and this paper introduces the design, implementation, and verification process of mission monitoring (MIMO) in KASS. MIMO was developed in compliance with the Minimum Operational Performance Standards of the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics for Global Positioning System (GPS)/SBAS airborne equipment. In this study, the MIMO system was verified by comparing and analyzing the outputs of reference tools. Additionally, the definition and derivation method of accuracy, integrity, continuity, and availability subject to MIMO were examined. The internal and external interfaces and functions were then designed and implemented. The GPS data pre-processing was minimized during the implementation to evaluate the navigation performance experienced by general users. Subsequently, tests and verification methods were used to compare the obtained results based on reference tools. The test was performed using the KASS dataset, which included GPS and SBAS observations. The decoding performance of the developed MIMO was identical to that of the reference tools. Additionally, the navigation performance was verified by confirming the similarity in trends. As MIMO is a component of KASS used for real-time monitoring of the navigation performance of SBAS, the KASS operator can identify whether an abnormality exists in the navigation performance in real-time. Moreover, the preliminary identification of the abnormal point during the post-processing of data can improve operational efficiency.
