The Development of an Automatic Shooting Range System Using CAN (CAN을 이용한 자동화 사격장 시스템 개발)

  • Recently, the requirement of automation in the every fields of the industrial places has been increased remarkably. The shooting range systems in the Past have been designed on the basis of static circumstance. However, Various transformation of the shooting circumstances is required, since the target for real shooting situation not static. In this study we have established for targets Per one shooting line to realize the dynamic shooting circumstance, distributed shooting order into sequence and random ones. and accommodated the shooting time variably. And, we have done an efficient communication possible, using CAN(Controller Area Network) applied to a lot of the car and the building automation. The CAN can support real-time control efficiently by connecting multiple ECU(Electric Control Unit), since it provide the high data transfer rate and the stability of communication.

A Hierarchical Bayesian Network for Real-Time Continuous Hand Gesture Recognition (연속적인 손 제스처의 실시간 인식을 위한 계층적 베이지안 네트워크)

  • This paper presents a real-time hand gesture recognition approach for controlling a computer. We define hand gestures as continuous hand postures and their movements for easy expression of various gestures and propose a Two-layered Bayesian Network (TBN) to recognize those gestures. The proposed method can compensate an incorrectly recognized hand posture and its location via the preceding and following information. In order to vertify the usefulness of the proposed method, we implemented a Virtual Mouse interface, the gesture-based interface of a physical mouse device. In experiments, the proposed method showed a recognition rate of 94.8% and 88.1% for a simple and cluttered background, respectively. This outperforms the previous HMM-based method, which had results of 92.4% and 83.3%, respectively, under the same conditions.

HDF: Hybrid Debugging Framework for Distributed Network Environments

  • Debugging in distributed environments, such as wireless sensor networks (WSNs), which consist of sensor nodes with limited resources, is an iterative and occasionally laborious process for programmers. In sensor networks, it is not easy to find unintended bugs that arise during development and deployment, and that are due to a lack of visibility into the nodes and a dearth of effective debugging tools. Most sensor network debugging tools are not provided with effective facilities such as real-time tracing, remote debugging, or a GUI environment. In this paper, we present a hybrid debugging framework (HDF) that works on WSNs. This framework supports query-based monitoring and real-time tracing on sensor nodes. The monitoring supports commands to manage/control the deployed nodes, and provides new debug commands. To do so, we devised a debugging device called a Docking Debug-Box (D2-Box), and two program agents. In addition, we provide a scalable node monitor to enable all deployed nodes for viewing. To transmit and collect their data or information reliably, all nodes are connected using a scalable node monitor applied through the Internet. Therefore, the suggested framework in theory does not increase the network traffic for debugging on WSNs, and the traffic complexity is nearly O(1).

  • This paper presents a new scheme of neural network controller to improve to improve the robustuous of robot manipulator using digital signal processors. Digital processors, DSPs, are micro-processors that are particularly developed for fast numerical computations involving sums and products of variables. Digital version of most advanced control algorithms can be defined as sums and producrs of measured variables, thus it can be programmed and executed through DSPs. In addition, DSPs are as fist in computation as most 32-bit micro-processors and yet at a fraction of their prices. These features make DSPs a viable computational tool in digital implementation of sophisticated controllers. During past decade it was proposed the well-established theorys for the adaptive control of linear systems, but there exits relativly little gensral theoral for the adaptive control of nonlinear systems. Perforating of the proposed controller is illustrated. This paper describes a new approach to the design of adaptive controller and implementation of real-time control for assembling robotic manipulator using digital signal processor.   • Wireless sensor networking technology is one of the basic infrastructures for ubiquitous environment. It enables us to gather various sensory data such as temperature, humidity, gas leakage, and speed from the remote sensor devices. To support these networking functions, IEEE WPAN working group makes standards for PHY and MAC, while ZigBee Alliance defines the standards for the network, security, and applications. The low-rate WPAN was emerged to have the characteristics of network resilience, low cost, and low power consumption. It has a broad range of applications including, but not limit to industrial control and monitoring, home automation, disaster forecast and monitoring, health care. In order to provide more intelligent and robust services, users want voice-based solutions to accommodate to low-rate WPAN. In this paper, we have evaluated voice quality of an IEEE 802.15.4 standard compliant voice node. Specifically, it includes the design of a voice node and experiments based on the prediction of voice quality using the E-model suggested by ITU-T G.107, and the network communication mechanisms considering beacon-enabled and nonbeacon-enabled networks for real-time voice communications.

  • In order to provide smart devices with high quality multimedia streaming services, an adaptive streaming technique over HTTP has been received much attention recently and the Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) standard has been established. In DASH, however, the technique to select an appropriate quality of multimedia based on the performance metrics measured in a smart device might have some difficulties to reflect the capabilities of other neighboring smart devices and dynamic network conditions in real time. To solve the problem, this paper proposes a novel software agent approach, called DASH agent (DA), which gathers and analyzes the device capabilities and dynamic network conditions in real time and finally determines the highest achievable quality of segment to meet the best Quality of Experience (QoE) in current situations. The simulation results show that our approach provides higher quality of multimedia segments with less frequency of quality changes to lower quality of multimedia segments.

  • This paper presents a controller for the multiple DC motors using the CAN(Controller Area Network). The controller has a benefit of reducing the cable connections and making the controller boards compact through the network including expansibility. CAN, among the field buses, is a serial communication methodology which has the physical layer and the data link layer in the ISO's OSI (Open System Interconnect) 7 layered reference model. It provides the user with many powerful features including multi-master functionality and the ability to broadcast / multicast telegrams. When we use a microprocessor chip embedding the CAN function, the system becomes more economical and reliable to react shortly in the data transmission. The controller, we proposed, is composed of two main controllers and a sub controller, which have built with a one-chip microprocessor having CAN function. The sub controller is plugged into the Pentium PC to perform a CAN communication, and connected to the main controllers via the CAN. Main controllers are responsible for controlling two motors respectively. Totally four motors, actuators for the biped robot in our laboratory, are controlled in the experiment. We show that the four motors are controlled properly to actuate the biped robot through the network in real time.

  • The u-Healthcare system, a new paradigm, provides healthcare and medical service anytime, anywhere in daily life using wired and wireless networks. It only doesn't reach u-Hospital at home, to manage efficient personal health in fitness space, it is essential to feedback process through measuring and analyzing a personal vital signs. MBAN(Medical Body Area Network) is a core of this technology. MBAN, a new paradigm of the u-Healthcare system, can provide healthcare and medical service anytime, anywhere on real time in daily life using u-sensor networks. In this paper, an ontology-based context-awareness in MBAN proposed system development methodology. Accordingly, ontology-based context awareness system on MBAN to Elderly/severe patients/aged/, with measured respiratory rate/temperature/pulse and vital signs having small variables through u-sensor network in real-time, discovered abnormal signs and emergency situations which may happen to people at sleep or activity, alarmed and connected with members of a family or medical emergency alarm(Emergency Call) and 119 system to avoid sudden accidents for early detection. Therefore, We have proposed that accuracy of biological signal sensing and the confidence of ontology should be inspected.

  • To support real-time multicast, the existing DS network may use the EF PHB for transmission, However, because of the dynamic characteristics of the multicast flow and the features of the EF PHB. it is very difficult to make a provision of resources or to manage the network when EF multicast flows increase, Also, the existing LBE PHB can not guarantee the transmission delay bounds required for the real-time multicast traffic, In this paper. a new concept of PHB. namely, low-delay multicast PHB, that may guarantee approximately the per-hop delay is proposed, For the low-delay multicast PHB, router architectures are devised, The queue management algorithm on a low-delay multicast queue and a scheduling method are also devised. This new architecture of the LDM AF class is simple to be implemented.

  • 현재의 공장 자동화, 국방, 항공, 철도, 금융 등을 포함하는 실시간 시스템은 여러 개의 컴퓨터가 다수의 장소에서 서로의 데이터 교환을 통한 협동 작업으로 여러 가지 기능 및 업무를 수행한다. 이는 마치 멀티프로세서를 가진 컴퓨터같이 생각할 수 있으며 이와같은 시스템에 있어서 업무 수행의 효율은 각 프로세서의 계산 능력에 비례함과 동시에 각 노드간의 데이터 전송 능력에 비례한다고 할 수 있다. 이와 같은 실시간 시스템이 올바르게 동작하기 위해서는 한정된 시간 내에 일정한 양의 데이터의 전달을 확정적으로 보장해 줄 수 있는 네트워크를 필요로 하는데 이를 실시간 네트워크(Real time network)라고 한다. 현대의 분산제어 시스템에 있어서 확정적인 시간 내의 데이터 전달은 전체 제어 시스템의 응동 특성에 중요한 요인이 된다. 본 논문은 한국형 고속 전철의 시제차(Prototype train)에 적용된 국제 표준 실시간 네트워크인 열차 통신 네트워크(Train Communication Network)에 관련한 내용이다. 실시간 네트워크는 실시간성을 보장하기 위해서 상호 교환될 데이터가 필요에 따라(온라인 상에서) 변경되는 것이 아니라 오프라인 디자인의 결과로 미리 결정되어진다. 즉 통신장치 사이에 전달되는 네트워크 데이터는 미리 설계된 네트워크 테이블을 기초로 정해진 시간에, 정해진 데이터가, 정해진 방식으로 전달되어 진다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 네트워크의 오프라인 설계를 하기 위한 도구로서 개발되어진 네트워크 데이터 테이블 작성 프로그램에 대해서 설명한다.
