The real time control system for FMS(Flexible Manufacturing System) is implemented at this paper. To achieve this goal, the Colored and Timed Petri-Net model is constructed and used to simulate the real time operation of FMS. Using the Colored and Timed Petri-Net model, evaluating any kind of FMS plant is possible. On-line shceduler, intelligent dispatcher, real time monitor and the simulation model of shop floor are contructed using LAN communication, relational database system in this paper. Finally, this real time control system is applied to the FMS/CIM center at Seoul National University.
Most concurrency control protocols have been devised for resolving data conflicts among real-time transactions of a single type. Recent real-time database systems should support various types of real-time transactions due to needs of many different types of applications and steady improvement of hardware. In this paper, we propose integrated concurrency control protocol to resolve data conflicts among hard and soft real-time transactions. Our proposed protocol, based on PCP(Priority Ceiling Protocol) for a hard real-time transactions and MVPR(Multiversion with Precedence Relationship), guarantees that hard real-time transactions meet their deadline, and decreases the deadline miss ratio of soft real-time transactions. We also proved that the proposed protocol guarantees serializable schedules and no deadlocks. The performance of the proposed protocol has been compared with other real-time concurrency protocols.

In this paper, we use face database to detect human emotion in real time. Although human emotions are defined globally, real emotional perception comes from the subjective thoughts of the judging person. Therefore, judging human emotions using computer image processing technology requires high technology. In order to recognize the emotion, basically the human face must be detected accurately and the emotion should be recognized based on the detected face. In this paper, based on the Cohn-Kanade Database, one of the face databases, faces are detected by combining the detected faces with the database.

Purpose : In this paper we proposed cascade feature filter and projection method for rapid human face recognition for the large-scale high-dimensional face database. Materials and Methods : The relevant features are selected from the large feature set using Fast Correlation-Based Filter method. After feature selection, project them into discriminant using Principal Component Analysis or Linear Discriminant Analysis. Their cascade method reduces the time-complexity without significant degradation of the performance. Results : In our experiments, the ORL database and the extended Yale face database b were used for evaluation. On the ORL database, the processing time was approximately 30-times faster than typical approach with recognition rate 94.22% and on the extended Yale face database b, the processing time was approximately 300-times faster than typical approach with recognition rate 98.74 %. Conclusion : The recognition rate and time-complexity of the proposed method is suitable for real-time face recognition system on the large-scale high-dimensional face database.
The conventional database evaluation method is carried out by the way in which the person in charge of each specialty database(DB manager) composes the evaluation sheets for corretionㆍrevision on the already-constructed database in a manual method and carries out the measurement and re-education of DB workers based upon it. As a result, that way consumes much time on career information and measurement works about DB workers, causing low time and cost efficiency and lack of systematic management of DB workers, resulting in becoming the hindrance factor of databases quality improvement. This research provides on-line, red-time results of measurements about the efficiency of DB production and DB workers by combining the static measurement with dynamic measurement by DB manager, both of which utilize the System. Therefore, the DB manager can contribute to the improvement of DB quality by determining the continuation of DB production by DB workers or carrying out the re-education of DB workers without being affected by time or spacial constraints.

Prescription, pickup, and acting information from the ward are stored in a hospital database, and can be accessed and retrieved by the relevant departments. Frequent inquiries from many departments can cause a great load on the hospital information system. When the nursing and care services are integrated, the real-time pickup and acting tasks are also increased, which may lead to an increase in database inquiries, thereby increasing the amount of information being transferred. To effectively solve this inefficiency problem, we aimed to develop a nursing and care integrated information system that excludes database inquiries and incorporate a method that transmits pickup and acting information in real-time. Because the new system increases the workload and responsibility, we developed a ward acting dashboard so that every ward employee can determine all the acting situations of patients in real-time to improve the quality of services. We designed a database by concentrating on the pickup and acting business procedures, and applied real-time web techniques to enable pickup and acting information to be delivered instantly. Through our implementation, we were able to reduce the inquiry time and transmission amount significantly compared with the existing method.
In this paper we present a new extensible model based upon the concept of subtransactions in real-time transaction systems. The nested transaction model originally proposed by J. Moss is extended for real-time uniprocessor transaction systems by adding explicit timing constraints. Based upon the model, an integrated concurrency control and scheduling algorithm is developed, that not only guarantees timing constraints of a set of real-time transactions but also maintains consistency of the database. The algorithm is based on the priority ceiling protocol of Sha et al. We prove that the Real-Time Nested Priority Ceiling Protocol prevents unbounded blocking and deadlock, and maintains the serializability of a set of real-time transactions. We use the upper bound on the duration that a transaction can be blocked to show that it is possible to analyze the schedulability of a transaction set using rate-monotonic priority assignment. This work is viewed as a step toward multiprocessor and distributed real-time nested transaction systems. Also, it is possible to be extended to include the real-time multimedia transactions in the emerging web-based database application areas.
The current middleware, managing the bridges equipped whit sensor networks on real-time basis, merely processes the data collected from the sensor networks, In this study, we develop a very versatile middleware which mediates between sensor nodes and exclusive applications or web browsers. It collects and processes the data from the network. On database failures, it stores the data in a file and sends them to the database at a proper speed considering the rate of the database system when the database is restored. Lastly, in order to notice abnormality of the bridge to the operators when some problems occur in the bridge, we propose a mechanism for producing alarm signals.

Real estate data can be big data. Because the amount of real estate data is growing rapidly and real estate data interacts with various fields such as the economy, law, and crowd psychology, yet is structured with complex data layers. The existing Relational Database tends to show difficulty in handling various relationships for managing real estate big data, because it has a fixed schema and is only vertically extendable. In order to improve such limitations, this study constructs the real estate data in a Graph Database and verifies its usefulness. For the research method, we modeled various real estate data on MySQL, one of the most widely used Relational Databases, and Neo4j, one of the most widely used Graph Databases. Then, we collected real estate questions used in real life and selected 9 different questions to compare the query times on each Database. As a result, Neo4j showed constant performance even in queries with multiple JOIN statements with inferences to various relationships, whereas MySQL showed a rapid increase in its performance. According to this result, we have found out that a Graph Database such as Neo4j is more efficient for real estate big data with various relationships. We expect to use the real estate Graph Database in predicting real estate price factors and inquiring AI speakers for real estate.

In this paper we design and implement a new Hybrid Equipment Data Acquisition System (HEDAS) for data collection of semiconductor and optoelectronic manufacturing equipments in the equipment engineering system(EES) framework. The amount of the data collected from equipments have increased rapidly in equipment engineering system. The proposed HEDAS efficiently handles a large amount of real-time equipment data generated from EES framework. It also can support the real-time ESS applications as well as non real-time ESS applications. For the real-time EES applications, it performs high-speed real-time processing that uses continuous query and filtering techniques based on memory buffers. The HEDAS can optionally store non real-time equipment data using a HEDAS-based database or a traditional DBMS-based database. In particular, The proposed HEDAS offers the compression indexing based on the timestamp of data and query processing technique saving the cost of disks storage against extremely increasing equipment data. The HEDAS is efficient system to collect huge real-time and non real-time equipment data and transmit the collected equipment data to several EES applications in EES framework.
