애기물달팽이의 먹이인 조류(藻類)의 실험실 배양(培養) (Laboratory cultivation of blue-green algae for use as a food for Lymnaeids the intermediate host of Fasciola hepatica)

  • In the present experiment, the blue-green algae, the principal food of the vector snail of Fasciola hepatica were cultured. Mud from good natural habitats was sterilized, made slopes, inoculated with algae from the habitats and maintained in a saturated atmosphere. Under the fluorescent-mercury lamp(100W) at about $20^{\circ}C$ the algal growth was optimal, taking 8 days to fully grow and to be ready for feeding the snails. The algae collected from the habitats and cultured in the laboratory were mainly green.

  • The need for low cost, flexible, thin film transistor (TFT) display backplanes has focused attention on new processing techniques and materials. We report the development of TFT backplane technology based entirely on jet-printing, using a combination of additive and subtractive processing, to print active materials or etch masks. The technique eliminates the use of photolithography and has the potential to reduce the array manufacturing cost. The printing technique is demonstrated with both amorphous silicon and polymer semiconductor TFT arrays, and we show results of small prototype displays.

  • The objective of this study is development of high strength lightweight concrete and application or structural use. For this, mix proportions for each strength level were selected from lab tests, and adapted to producing ready-mixed concrete in batcher plant. It was very important to prewet the lightweight aggregates sufficiently for producibility and also workability. Splitting tensile strength of high-strength lightweight concrete produced has lower values than that of normal weight concrete, but modulus of rupture and modulus of elasticity are not less than normal weight concrete. The strength reduction factor ($\lambda$) for sand-lightweight concrete make higher than 0.85 present in structures using high-strength lightweight concrete. And it was showed that not parabola distribution but triangular distribution of stress in compression zone.

  • A new dual loop controller using color LCD bar graphs with LED back lights has been developed. An optional memory card is used to load or save the controller configuration, which may be a preprogrammed standard package or a user-programmed configuration, in addition to the built-in functions ready for user selection. The bar-graph display is selectable for single-loop or dual-loop use. A high grade of self-tuning functions using a modeling technique is built-in as standard. The controller can accommodate optional plug-in modules for thermocouples, communication, etc. All the options are fully field upgradable.

공업용수배관의 응역부식균열 거동에 관한 연구 (Study on the Stress Corrosion Cracking Behaviour of Piping for Industrial Water)

  • Recently with the rapid development in the industries such as an iron mill and chemical plants, these are enlarged by the use of the piping. This piping was encountered the stress corrosion cracking(SCC) because of stress by water pressure and residual stress of welding etc. under industrial water. In this paper, the behaviour of stress corrosion cracking on the weld zone of steel pipe piping water(SPPW) were investigated according to pre-heat before welding in natural seawater(specific resistance : 25$\Omega$-cm). The main results obtained are as follows :1) The stress corrosion cracking for SPPW and SB 41 is most ready to propagate in heat affected zone of weldment. 2) The SCC sensitivity of SPPW on weldment is more susceptible than that of SB 41. 3) The stress corrosion cracking growth of heat affected zone is delayed by the preheat and dry of base metal and electrode before welding.

  • The program name TOLAPS is an acronym for Take-Off LAnding Profile Simulation. Some of the interesting features of this program is the ability to detect flight performance effects of airport altitude, ambient temperature, air pressure and wind. TOLAPS can also handle effects of TOW and LW. The program user can also calculate profiles by user difined flaps and thrust settings deviating from recommended standard settings for each aircraft. Wind effects on straight out flying as well as turns can also be demonstrated. Output form TOLAPS are either screen graphics of profiles (altitude, speed or thrust versus flight distance) or flight track. Profiles can also be made in a tabular form, ready for use in most airport noise calculation programs. In this way, TOLAPS is a valuable tool to evaluate effects of noise abatement procedures.

  • High purity carbon nano fibers/tubes (CNF/Ts) which contain 97% pure graphitic carbon are prepared by a new catalytic method. These carbon nano fibers/tubes are ready to use without any further purification. The striking feature of this method is the production of carbon nano fibers/tubes of narrow distribution range. The developed catalytic method also produces pure hydrogen. An additional advantage of this catalytic method is that catalyst can be reused without reactivation. Ni:Cu catalyst system is embodied into SCHOTT-DURAN filter disc of large pore size (40-100 mm). Due to the production of hydrogen in the reaction catalyst stability is enhanced and deactivation process is considerably slowed down.

  • Millimeter wave communication is one of the main disruptive technologies in upcoming 5G mobile networks. One of the first candidate applications, which will be commercially ready by 2020, is wireless backhaul links or wireless last mile communication. This paper provides an analysis of this use-case from radio engineering and implementation perspectives. Furthermore, preliminary experimental results are shown for a proof-of-concept wireless backhaul solution developed within the EU-KR 5GCHAMPION project, which will be showcased during the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Korea. In this paper, we verify system level calculations and a theoretical link budget analysis with conductive and radiated over-the-air measurements. The results indicate that the implemented radio solution is able to achieve the target key performance indicator, namely, a 2.5 Gbps data rate on average, over a range of up to 200 m.

한옥 축부(軸部) 시공법 개선 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Wall Execution Method on Hanok)

  • 한옥에서 축부는 건물의 외관과 실내 환경, 공사기간 및 공사비와 밀접한 관련을 지닌 부분이다. 본 연구에서는 전통적인 시공법을 분석하여 전통 한옥의 장점으로서의 특성을 유지하면서 개선된 한옥 축부의 시공법을 제안하였다. 그 개선안은 기성품의 사용, 전체 공정의 건식 조립공법화, 기둥과 벽체의 일괄 시공, 기밀성과 단열성능 향상 등의 특성을 지닌다. 앞으로 시제품의 제작과 성능 시험 등의 단계를 거쳐야 하겠지만 한옥의 형태적 특성을 유지하면서 공사기간과 공사비를 줄이는데 일조할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

고속도로 휴게소의 메뉴전략을 위한 외식서비스실태연구 (A Study on Foodservice Operation for a Menu Strategy in Expressway Rest Areas)

  • 고속도로 휴게소의 메뉴전략을 위한 실증적 재조명을 위해 고속도로 휴게소 직원들과 이용객 대상으로 외식서비스에 관해 조사하였다. 연구결과, 대부분 휴게소의 주된 외식 메뉴는 평균 10-30개 정도의 한식이 가장 많았고, 브랜드업체의 입점 필요성은 퓨전/패스트푸드업체, 스낵/즉석식품, 음료 순으로 높게 나타났다. 휴게소 외식조리에서 전문조리사 참여비율은 10-30%이고, 주로 한식으로서 조리 시 중요시하는 음식속성은 주로 '맛'이었다. 외국인 고객은 한식, 음료. 일식/중식보다 퓨전패스트, 스낵/즉석식품을 더 선호하고 관심을 보였으며, 주문 시 질문을 '전혀 안한다(55.5%)'와 '가끔 한다(34.8%)'로 답해 질문없이 구매를 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 휴게소에서는 외국인의 메뉴 이해를 위해 메뉴의 80-100% 정도를 사진/그림으로 이용하고 있었으나 메뉴의 외국어 표기 정확도는 매우 낮았다. 휴게소 이용객들은 고속도로 이용 시 평균이용횟수 1-2회, 평균 체류시간 10-20분(43.6%), 20-30분(38.6%)이고, 주된 교통수단은 자가용(77.7%)이며, 휴게소 방문 이유는 휴식/화장실 이용(61.1%)이 가장 높았다. 많이 이용하는 외식분야는 한식(32.7%)과 즉석/스낵(33.0%)이고, 1회 평균 지출은 5천원-1만원(51.3%), 3천원-5천원(25.8%)이었다. 또한 만족도는 성별, 연령, 교육정도와 직업에 무관하게 "보통"으로 나타났다. 이 같은 결과로 보아 고속도로 휴게소는 문제점을 분석 후 고객만족을 위한 메뉴전략과 대안을 준비해야 할 것이다.
