  • Recently, Korea government prepared Act on facilitation of construction waste recycling in December 2003 for effective recycling of rapidly increasing construction wastes, and has enforced the Act on Jan. 2005. This Act limits the definition of recycled aggregates to the aggregates which obtained quality certificate and for this purpose, government has operated quality standard and certificate system of recycling aggregate. The objective of this experimental study is to evaluate the mechanical properties of recycled coarse aggregate concrete according to curing method by ready-mixed concrete. Compressive strength ratio of recycled aggregate concrete under air-dry curing/wet curing was $74{\sim}91%$. KCI code for conventional concrete overestimated elastic modulus for recycled coarse aggregate concrete.

  • Optimizing truck dispatching-intervals is imperative in ready mixed concrete (RMC) delivery process. Intervals shorter than optimal may induce queuing of idle trucks at a construction site, resulting in a long delivery cycle time. On the other hand, intervals longer than optimal can trigger work discontinuity due to a lack of available trucks where required. Therefore, the RMC delivery process should be systematically scheduled in order to minimize the occurrence of waiting trucks as well as guarantee work continuity. However, it is challenging to find optimal intervals, particularly in urban areas, due to variations in both traffic conditions and concrete placement rates at the site. Truck dispatching intervals are usually determined based on the concrete plant managers' intuitive judgments, without sufficient and reliable information regarding traffic and site conditions. Accordingly, the RMC delivery process often experiences inefficiency and/or work discontinuity. Automatic data collection (ADC) techniques (e.g., RFID or GPS) can be effective tools to assist plant managers in finding optimal dispatching intervals, thereby enhancing delivery performance. However, quantitative evidence of the extent of performance improvement has rarely been reported to data, and this is a central reason for a general reluctance within the industry to embrace these techniques, despite their potential benefits. To address this issue, this research reports on the development of a discrete event simulation model and its application to a large-scale building project in Abu Dhabi. The simulation results indicate that ADC techniques can reduce the truck idle time at site by 57% and also enhance the pouring continuity in the RMC delivery process.

  • A 36 stories high multi-use building was designed with the specified concrete strength range of 300~400kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ On the ground of the concept of compressive strength, adequate mix designing for the concrete, which has the target strength range of 390-520kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$, was carried out to provide enough strength margin. And with due regard to the workability and transportation time, the slump and slump flow ranged 16~21cm and 30~45cm respectively, maintaining these properties up to 2-hours from the beginning of the mix. The high-range water reducer is incorporated into the mix as a admixture. The building construction is controlled satisfactorily, so far. The actual average 28-day compressive strength is 370kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$, the standard deviation is 28kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and the coefficient of variation is 7.6% for concrete of 300kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ specified strength.

  • As a result of the reduction of natural aggregate, most of developed country have been studied the utilization of Blast-furnace Slag(BFS) as aggregate of concrete. bur, in korea there are only basic study about these even though other country are using Blast-furnace Slag production of Ready Mixed Concrete. According, in this study, we carried out fundamental experiments in order to know the material properties of BFS and possibilities of the BFS as fine aggregate of concrete. It is included that analysis concerning material properties of BFS as like specific gravity, absorption. unit weigth, grading including investigation of the surface shape by SEM, also, analysis concerning properties of concrete with BFS as like air-content surface slump. compressive strength .etc.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a reference data for the development of high workable and normal strength concrete using Polycarboxylate superplasticizer and granulated blast furnace slag as concrete admixtures. So in this study, it is quantitatively evaluated the workability, compressive strength, the heat of hydration and dry shrinkage of high workable concrete on normal compressive strength($21{\sim}27MPa$) for the practical use in construction field. As a result of this study, it is appeared that the performance of high workable and normal strength concrete is superior than that of ready-mixed concrete of the same strength through the B/P tests in the plants.

  • 콘크리트의 품질관리에 활용하기 위하여 콘크리트의 시멘트-물비와 압축강도의 상관식을 시험을 통하여 구하였다. 그리고 콘크리트의 공기량, 슬림프 및 강도 시험결과를 데이터 베이스화 하고 X-R 관리도와 X-Rs 관리도를 작성하는 기능 그리고 사용재료에 대한 각종 시험결과를 정리할 수 있는 데이터 시트 기능을 가진 품질관리 프로그램을 개발하였다. 또한 이 프로그램 속에는 콘크리트 시험 비비기를 할 때의 배합계산 및 콘크리트 관련 용어사전 기능을 포함시켰다.

  • As the construction site has become narrower recently, the importance of mass concrete is naturally being highlighted as skyscrapers become popular. However, it is not possible to install the entire volume per day if the mass concrete is installed due to the Remicon 8⦁5 system and the 52-hour workweek system. When the mass concrete base is divided into several days, cold joints occur because the consolidation of joints is not integrated due to different degree of hardening in the case of the previous layer and the next day. As a result, existing research has shown that if super retarding agent are mixed into Ready Mixed Concrete (hereinafter referred to as Remicon) using sugar as a raw material to delay the curing time of concrete, cold joints are inhibited and cracks are inhibited by reducing the initial hydration heat.

도로건설공사 토공작업부에 대한 환경부하 영향인자 분석 (An Analysis of Factors Affecting Environmental Load in Earthwork Type of Road Project)

  • 건설산업에서 LCA (Life Cycle Assessment)를 활용하여 환경영향을 평가하려는 시도가 점차 증가하고 있다. 그러나 제한된 사업예산과 일정으로 인해 신속한 의사결정을 수행해야 하는 국내 건설산업에서 모든 자재와 에너지를 대상으로 환경부하량에 대한 검토를 수행하는 것은 곤란하다. 따라서 친환경성 확보를 위한 의사결정과정에서 환경부하 저감을 위해 중점적으로 검토가 수행되어야 하는 주요 영향인자와 이를 환경영향평가로 연계할 수 있는 정량화된 정보의 제공이 요구된다. 이 연구에서는 이러한 정보의 제공을 위해 도로건설공사 사례의 LCA결과를 분석하였다. 분석결과 경유, 레미콘, 우레탄계도료, 골재, 아스팔트콘크리트가 도로 토공작업부에서 환경부하량의 93.17%를 발생시키는 주요 영향인자로 조사되었다. 도로 토공작업부 1km를 시공할 때 이들 영향인자에 의해 발생하는 총환경비용은 약 242백만원이며 레미콘과 아스팔트콘크리트의 작업물량 10%를 절감함에 따라 5.02%와 2.28%의 탄소배출량 감축효과를 얻을 수 있다. 두 자원의 탄소배출량 감축을 통해 1km당 약 11백만원의 환경비용을 절감할 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 도로 토공작업부의 탄소배출량 감축을 위해서는 레미콘과 아스팔트콘크리트의 사용량을 감소시키기 위한 신공법이나 친환경자재의 적극적인 개발과 도입이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

농업용 수리구조물의 내구성 설계방안 연구 (The Study on the design of durability of Concrete in Agricultural Hydraulic Structures)

  • Hydraulic structures have been constructed with low cost concrete so as to increase the investment efficiency. But, it has caused to produce structures having excess internal voids inside concrete. As the construction of agricultural irrigation and drainage project is concentrated on off-farming season and scattered in wider area, variation of quality of structures is big and it caused increase of internal voids. Due to that reason, hazardous substance is passing rather freely through the voids causing occur of crack and accordingly life time of structures is getting shortened. It is necessary to make a thesis of design criteria for design strength to increase life time, range of variation of quality, strength of ready-mixed concrete proper to design strength, and water-cement ratio and air content.
