  • NISS is a unique spaceborne imaging spectrometer (R = 20) onboard the Korea's next micro-satellite NEXTSat-1 to investigate the star formation history of Universe in near infrared wavelength region (0.9 - 3.8 um), with a customized H1RG IR sensor(Jeong 2014). In this paper, we will introduce the compact electronics system (Fig. 1) as well as the novel readout method to reduce the 1/f noise for NISS.

  • This paper presents a survey of the CMOs-based image sensor and its applications to various real field digital camera. CMOS image sensor, called active pixel sensor (APS), has many interesting properties such ash I회 sensitivity, high speed readout, random access and lower power consumption when it is compared with CCd. this paper also addresses the state-of-the-art of CMOS image sensor, and gives some examples of its application to digital camera and special-purpose cameras. with the advancement of semiconductor technology, CMOS image sensor is a future technology for imaging system, and will be widely used in the filed of image capturing for consumer electronics and scientific measurements.

  • We have been developing microvolume LET counter in order to measure the three-dimensional LET distribution of the therapeutic heavy ion radiation volumes in the water phantom. With help of the technique of cathode induced carhge readout, this detector has a rectangular (box-shape) sensitive volume of which size is about 1 mm$^2$ and 2mm (depth).

• We have designed, fabricated and tested an integrated planar DC SQUID which incorporates input coil and mofulation coil in thin film structure. The SQUID uses Nb /Al-oxide /Nb Josephson junctions and Pd shunt resistors, and the SQUID loop incorporates two rings connected in series forming figure '8' structure and has the advantage of a negligibly small circulating current for the spatially homogeneous noise fields. The devices were fabricated using photolithographic technique, RF magnetron sputtering, anodic oxidation for insulation and lift-off process. The preliminary test of the fabricated SQUID at 4.2 K showed that the flux-voltage characteristics were smooth enough to adopt standard readout system, and the voltage noise was too small to be measured by direct method and so the white noise was thought to be less than $10^{-4}\;{\phi}_o/\;\sqrt{H_z}$.

  • The purpose of this study is a development of an automatic mosaicing for applying to large number of airborne multispectral images, which reduces manual operation by human. 2436 airborne multispectral images were acquired from DuncanTech MS4100 camera with three bands; green, red and near infrared. LIDAR(LIght Detection And Ranging) data and GPS/INS(global positioning system/inertial navigation system) data were collected with the multispectral images. First, the multispectral images were converted to image patterns by unsupervised classification. Their patterns were compared with those of adjacent images to derive relative spatial position between images. Relative spatial positions were derived for 80% of the whole images. Second, it accomplished an automatic mosaicing using GPS/INS data and unsupervised classification. Since the time of GPS/INS data did not synchronized the time of readout images, synchronized GPS/INS data with the time of readout image were selected in consecutive data by comparing unsupervised classified images. This method realized mosaicing automatically for 96% images and RMSE (root mean square error) for the spatial precision of mosaiced images was only 1.44 m by validation with LIDAR data.
