신경회로망을 이용한 측정 점으로부터 특징형상 인식 (Geometric Feature Recognition Directly from Scanned Points using Artificial Neural Networks)

  • Reverse engineering (RE) is a process to create computer aided design (CAD) models from the scanned data of an existing part acquired using 3D position scanners. This paper proposes a novel methodology of extracting geometric features directly from a set of 3D scanned points, which utilizes the concepts of feature-based technology and artificial neural networks (ANNs). The use of ANN has enabled the development of a flexible feature-based RE application that can be trained to deal with various features. The following four main tasks were mainly investigated and implemented: (1) Data reduction; (2) edge detection; (3) ANN-based feature recognition; (4) feature extraction. This approach was validated with a variety of real industrial components. The test results show that the developed feature-based RE application proved to be suitable for reconstructing prismatic features such as block, pocket, step, slot, hole, and boss, which are very common and crucial in mechanical engineering products.

산업보건 측면에서의 희토류 건강영향 평가 (Evaluation of Rare Earths viewed from the Occupational Health)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted in order to improve the current understanding of rare earths(RE) and to provide supporting data for establishing occupational health policies by reviewing the toxicological data and issues caused by the use of RE compounds in various fields. Methods: To evaluate the potential toxicity of RE from the viewpoint of occupational health, we summarized extensive reviews of relevant articles in the toxicology(animals and cells), occupational health and safety, and epidemiologic literature. Results: Although occupational RE exposure occurs extensively from ore mining and refining to end users in various industrial applications, epidemiologic study has not been performed among workers up to now. Bioaccumulation and adverse effects of RE have also been mentioned in ore mining regions and nearby residences, but safety standards for each process are insufficient. Moreover, because new commercial recycling technology will soon be applied to various industries, regulation and policies are needed for preventing abuse of recycling. In the results of animal toxicity for a few REs(mostly cerium, lanthanum, and gadolinium), toxicities of liver, lung, blood, and the nervous system were identified due to oxidative stress, but study of long-term RE exposure is required. Understanding the dual effect for RE and discovery of biomarkers pose a scientific challenge in further mechanism studies. Conclusions: In the future, additional hazard evaluation based on animal experiments is required, alongside continuous research for developing analytical methods and discovering biomarkers. Finally, RE occupational health and safety management needs to be integrated into the sustainable use of these materials.

Global Data Repository Status and Analysis: Based on Korea, China and Japan Data in re3data.org

  • We collected and analyzed data from e3data.org, which is a global registry of data repository services. We analyzed data profile for three leading Asian economies-Korea, China, and Japan-against the reference data for other participating countries. In particular, we examined how individual countries contribute to the repository, organizational type, versioning and product quality management, and subject tagging. We come to the conclusion that all three Asian countries still fall short in terms of involvement. As for participating institutions, there are 7 from Korea, 64 from China, and 120 from Japan. Among Chinese organizations, 3 are profit, 61 non-profit, and 37 organizations (which yields 1.8%) are involved in repository building. In Japan, there is 1 is commercial and 119 non-profit organizations, of which 57 (3.0%) are involved in repository building. All 7 organizations from Korea are non-profit, and 6 of them (0.3%) are involved in repository building. As regards versioning and product quality management, Korea, China, and Japan are up to par with other countries. Subject analysis reveals that Korea contributes more to geosciences, Japan to physics and geosciences, while China, unlike Korea and Japan, is more active in life sciences. It is hoped that this study will help planning domestic infrastructure for research data repositories with proper consideration for specific research domains and national characteristics.

The Effects of TSI(Transaction Specific Investment) on Dependence, Trust, Commitment and Re-Contract Intention

  • Purpose - This paper aims to test the effects of Korean food service franchisors' and franchisees' TSI (Transaction Specific Investment) on dependence and trust toward the franchisor and re-contract intention. The study examines the effects of both franchisors' and franchisees' TSI on dependence and trust, as compared with Ganesan (1994). Research design, data, and methodology - Data were collected from 495 Korean food service franchisees and analyzed with structural equation modeling using path analysis through SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. Results - 1) The franchisor's TSI has positive effects on the franchisee's dependence and trust toward the franchisor. 2) The franchisee's TSI has a positive effect on the franchisee's dependence toward the franchisor. 3) The franchisee's dependence and trust have positive effects on commitment. 4) The franchisee's dependence, trust, and commitment have a positive effect on re-contract intention. Conclusions - The franchisor's and franchisee's TSI affect the franchisee's dependence and trust toward the franchisor. The franchisee's dependence and trust influence commitment and re-contract intention. This has managerial implications for franchisors striving to raise franchisees' re-contract intention.

공무원연금의 지급정지제도가 가입자의 노동공급에 미치는 영향 및 지급정지제도의 발전방향 모색 (Effect of the Civil Servant's Suspension of Pension Payments on the Labor Supply and Suggestions on Developmental Alternatives of Suspension of Pension Payments)

  • 본 연구는 퇴직소득심사제도가 고령자의 노동공급에 미치는 영향에 대한 이론적 논의와 실증분석결과를 미국중심으로 고찰하고, 2005년 1월 기준 퇴직연금 혹은 장해연금을 수급하고 있는 178,363명의 공무원에 대한 공무원연금관리공단의 원자료를 통해 공무원연금의 지급정지제도가 노동공급에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석결과 재취업한 공무원은 총 8,086명으로 전체 분석대상의 4.5%였으며, 지급정지된 공무원의 중위생존기간은 3.3년으로 나타났다. 또한 전액정지자의 중위재취업기간은 반액 정지자에 비해 20개월 가량 짧고, 실제 회귀분석에서도 100% 지급정지자는 50% 지급정지자에 비해 재퇴직발생확률이 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 특히 현행 제도는 유급소득활동만으로도 지급정지하기 때문에 이를 피하기 위해 재취업노력조차 하지 않거나, 일시금수급을 선택할 가능성도 있다. 따라서 이를 분석에 포함한다면 그 영향은 더 클 것으로 예측된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 공무원연금 지급정지제도의 발전적 방향으로서, 지급정지제도를 연령과 소득에 따라 차등적용하되, 지연연금제도와 병행하거나 부분연금제도의 도입을 제안한다. 또한 효과적인 정책마련을 위해서는 심도 있는 실증분석이 뒷받침되어야 하므로 소득, 고용형태 등을 포함한 재취업특성에 대한 자료구축이 시급하며, 공무원연금관리공단의 관리체계 또한 강화해야 한다.

  • The Multi-purpose InfraRed Imaging System (MIRIS) is the main payload of Science and Technology Satellite 3 (STSAT-3), which was launched onboard Dnepr rocket from Russian Yasny Launch Base in November 2013. The MIRIS is an infrared (IR) camera, and the telescope has to be cooled down to below 200K in order to reduce thermal background noise. For the effective cooling and low-power consumption, we applied passive cooling method to the thermal design of the MIRIS. We also conducted thermal analysis and tested for the passive cooling before the launch of STSAT-3. After the launch, we have received State-of-Health (SOH) data from the satellite on orbit, including temperature monitoring results. It is important that the temperature of the telescope was shown to be cooled down to below 200K. In this paper, we present both the temperature data of the MIRIS on orbit and the thermal analysis results in the laboratory. We also compare these results and discuss the verification of the passive cooling.

운전조건에 따른 히트파이프를 이용한 열교환기의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Heat Exchanger using Heat Pipe for various Working Condition)

  • The purpose of this research is to study the characteristics of heat exchanger using heat pipe under various working conditions by a finite element analysis and experiment. The results are as follows. 1) In this study, h = $Max^B$ is used for the convective heat transfer coefficient and A = 2.761 and B = 0.701 $Mmax^{(-0.0626)}$ were obtained as the results of experiment. 2) For several different working conditions, (Q/Qb) is predicted by varying the values of L/Lt and Re/Rc. The maximum value of (Q/Qb) is achieved when Re/Rc = 1 and Le/Lc = 0.5. 3) The comparison between calculated value and experimental data showed agreement within 5% error. Therefore the method may be used to predict the performance of heat exchanger using heat pipe for similar geometric conditions. 4) For Re/Re/Rc of 0.2-0.3, the minimum thermal resistance exists when Le/Lt is 0.4-0.65.

역방향 DCSK를 이용한 카오스기반 통신 시스템 (Chaos based Communication System Using Reverse DCSK)

  • 본 논문에서는 낮은 비용과 높은 신뢰성 그리고 데이터율이 좋은 비-코히어런트 카오스 통신을 위한 역방향 차동 카오스 편이변조(Reverse Differential Chaos Shift Keying, RE-DCSK) 시스템을 제안한다. RE-DCSK의 참조 신호들은 기존 차동 카오스 편이 변조 방식(DCSK)에서처럼 첫 번째 슬롯에서 전송하며 두 번째 슬롯에서는 시간 반전 블록이 카오스 신호의 자기상관 관계를 강화시키고 두 신호의 직교성을 이용하여 정보신호의 역할을 한다. RE-DCSK는 시스템의 복잡성에 따르는 어떠한 추가 비용도 없이 DCSK와 비교했을 때 상대적으로 두 배의 전송률을 가능하게 하고 통신의 보안 성능도 역시 향상시킨다. 그 효율성을 입증하기 위해 도출한 BER 표현식을 기반으로 레일리 페이딩 채널과 부가 백색 가우시안잡음(AWGN) 채널을 통하여 분석한다. 제안한 시스템의 BER 성능은 AWGN 채널을 사용한 상호지연 편이변조 방식(CDSK)와 DCSK 시스템과 비교하였을 경우 성능이 향상된다.

PSS Evaluation Based on Vague Assessment Big Data: Hybrid Model of Multi-Weight Combination and Improved TOPSIS by Relative Entropy

  • Driven by the vague assessment big data, a product service system (PSS) evaluation method is developed based on a hybrid model of multi-weight combination and improved TOPSIS by relative entropy. The index values of PSS alternatives are solved by the integration of the stakeholders' vague assessment comments presented in the form of trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. Multi-weight combination method is proposed for index weight solving of PSS evaluation decision-making. An improved TOPSIS by relative entropy (RE) is presented to overcome the shortcomings of traditional TOPSIS and related modified TOPSIS and then PSS alternatives are evaluated. A PSS evaluation case in a printer company is given to test and verify the proposed model. The RE closeness of seven PSS alternatives are 0.3940, 0.5147, 0.7913, 0.3719, 0.2403, 0.4959, and 0.6332 and the one with the highest RE closeness is selected as the best alternative. The results of comparison examples show that the presented model can compensate for the shortcomings of existing traditional methods.

단속형 가변적층쾌속조형공정을 이용한 3차원 스캔데이터로부터 3차원 시작품의 쾌속 제작 (Rapid Manufacturing of 3D Prototype from 3D scan data using VLM-ST)

  • The reverse engineering (RE) technology can quickly generate 3D point cloud data of an object by capturing the surface of a model using a 3D scanner. In the rapid prototyping (RP) technology, prototypes are rapidly produced from 3D CAD models in a layer-by-layer additive basis. In this paper, a physical human head shape is duplicated using a new RP process, the Transfer-type Variable Lamination Manufacturing process using expandable polystyrene foam sheet (VLM-ST), after the point cloud data of a human head shape measured from 3D SNX scanner are converted to STL file. From the duplicated human head shape, it has been shown that the VLM-ST process in connection with the 3D scanner is a fast and efficient process in that shapes with free surface, such as the human head shape, can be duplicated with ease. Considering the measurement time and the shape duplication time, the use of 3D SNX scanner and the VLM-ST process is expected to reduce the lead-time fur the development of new products in comparison with the other existing RE-RP connected manufacturing systems.
