Bi, In을 함유한 Sn-Cu-Ni계 솔더 합금 제조와 물성 (The Properties and Processing of Bismuth and Indium Added Sn-Cu-Ni Solder Alloy System)

  • Sn-Cu-Ni계 솔더 합금에 소량의 Bi와 In을 첨가하여 새로운 무연솔더 합금 개발을 진행하였다. Sn-0.7%(Cu+Ni)에 2~5% Bi. 2~10% In을 첨가하여 각각의 열적, 전기적, 기계적 특성을 평가하였다. 솔더합금의 융점은 200~$222^{\circ}C$, 응고온도범위는 20~$37^{\circ}C$로 중.고온계 솔더로서 적용이 가능하다. 실험 조성별 솔더 합금중 실용적, 경제적인 면을 고려하여 Sn-0.7%(Cu+Ni)-3.5%Bi-2%In이 최적의 합금 조성으로 판단된다. 이 합금은 융점이 $220^{\circ}C$정도이며 응고범위는 $25^{\circ}C$, 강도 면에서는 타 합금에 비해 상당히 우수한 값을 나타내었으며 연신율은 비교적 낮은 값을 나타내었다. 다른 기계적, 전기적 특성은 타 솔더 합금과 유사하거나 우수한 편이었으며 젖음특성도 양호하였다.

광대역 응용을 위한 2.4 GHz 대역 전압 제어 주입 동기 발진기 설계 (Voltage Controlled Injection-Locked Oscillator Design at 2.4 GHz Band for Wideband Applications)

  • 본 논문에서는 전압 제어 특성을 이용하여 광대역에서 사용 가능한 주입 동기 발진기를 제안하였다. 주입 동기 발진기의 공진 회로에 바렉터 다이오드를 포함시켜 다이오드의 바이어스 전압을 제어하여 자유 발진 주파수를 가변 가능하도록 하였으며, 이를 통해 주입 동기 신호의 입력 레벨이 낮더라도 광대역에서 동작이 가능하도록 하였다. 제안된 주입 동기 발진기는 0.8 mm 두께를 갖는 FR-4 기판을 사용하여 제작되었으며, 0~5 V의 제어 전압을 주어졌을 때, 자유 발진 주파수는 2.39~2.52 GHz로 가변이 가능하였다. 주파수 고정시 -10 dBm의 입력 신호 레벨에서 주파수 동기 범위가 50 MHz 이상이며, 주파수 가변을 통해 -30 dBm의 낮은 주입 신호레벨에서 90 MHz의 주파수 동기 범위를 얻을 수 있었다.

Calibration-free real-time organic film thickness monitoring technique by reflected X-Ray fluorescence and compton scattering measurement

  • Most thickness measurement techniques using X-ray radiation are unsuitable in field processes involving fast-moving organic films. Herein, we propose a Compton scattering X-ray radiation method, which probes the light elements in organic materials, and a new simple, non-destructive, and non-contact calibration-free real-time film thickness measurement technique by setting up a bench-top X-ray thickness measurement system simulating a field process dealing with thin flexible organic films. The use of X-ray fluorescence and Compton scattering X-ray radiation reflectance signals from films in close contact with a roller produced accurate thickness measurements. In a high-thickness range, the contribution of X-ray fluorescence is negligible, whereas that of Compton scattering is negligible in a low-thickness range. X-ray fluorescence and Compton scattering show good correlations with the organic film thickness (R2 = 0.997 and 0.999 for X-ray fluorescence and Compton scattering, respectively, in the thickness range 0-0.5 mm). Although the sensitivity of X-ray fluorescence is approximately 4.6 times higher than that of Compton scattering, Compton scattering signals are useful for thick films (e.g., thicker than ca. 1-5 mm under our present experiment conditions). Thus, successful calibration-free thickness monitoring is possible for fast-moving films, as demonstrated in our experiments.

Chemotherapeutic Response and Survival for Patients With an Anal Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Low Hemoglobin Levels

  • Purpose: Anemia is associated with poor treatment results for a variety of cancers. The effect of low hemoglobin levels on long-term outcomes after the treatment of patients with an anal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) remains unclear. For that reason, this study aimed to investigate the effect of anemia on treatment outcomes following chemoradiation for an anal SCC. Methods: This was a retrospective study of all patients who underwent curative treatment for an anal SCC between 2009 and 2015 at 2 trusts in the United Kingdom. Data were collated from prospectively collected cancer databases and were cross-checked with operating-room records and records in the hospitals' patient management systems. Results: We identified 103 patients with a median age of 63 years (range, 36-84 years). The median overall survival was 39 months (range, 9-90 months), and the disease-free survival was 36 months (range, 2-90 months). During the follow-up period, 16.5% patients died and 13.6% patients developed recurrence. Twenty-two people were anemic prior to treatment, with a female preponderance (20 of 22). No differences in disease-free survival (P = 0.74) and overall survival (P = 0.12) were noted between patients with anemia and those with normal hemoglobin levels. On regression the analysis, the combination of anemia, the presence of a defunctioning colostomy, lymph-node involvement and higher tumor stage correlated with poor overall survival. Conclusion: In this study, anemia did not influence disease-free survival or overall survival. We suggest that the interaction between anemia and survival is more complex than previously demonstrated and potentially reliant on other coexisting factors.

Evaluating productive performance, meat quality and oxidation products of Italian White breed rabbits under free-range and cage rearing system

  • Objective: Free-range systems have been increasingly available to the consumer due to increased demand for more sustainable meat-products. In the current study, the effect of free-range (FR) and cage system (CS) was explored on growth performance, meat quality and oxidation products in Italian White breed rabbits during the growing-fattening phase (5 to 13 weeks of age). Methods: Forty rabbits were randomly allotted to two treatment groups according to the rearing system, and each treatment group was replicated five times with four subjects in each replicate (20 rabbits per treatment-group). All rabbits fed the same diet as pelleted, and under FR system, no additional feeds were available to animals. Results: Rearing system had significant effect on rabbit growth performance, where CS group resulted in higher final body weight (p<0.045) and gain (p<0.029) and better feed efficiency (p<0.025) compared to FR rabbits. Most carcass traits were not affected by rearing system; however, a reduction of abdominal fat content (p<0.015) and meat lipids (p<0.034) was observed in FR rabbits. Rearing system had no effects on meat fatty acid profile, whereas meat from FR rabbits resulted less susceptible to lipid and protein oxidation compared to caged animals. Conclusion: In overall, FR system could be suggested as a substitute for conventional caged system because of FR system preserved rabbit meat from oxidation.

Arterial or venous free flaps for volar tissue defects of the proximal interphalangeal joint: A comparison of surgical outcomes

  • Background For volar soft tissue defects of the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint, free flaps are technically challenging, but have more esthetic and functional advantages than local or distant flaps. In this study, we compared the long-term surgical outcomes of arterial (hypothenar, thenar, or second toe plantar) and venous free flaps for volar defects of the PIP joint. Methods This was a single-center retrospective review of free flap coverage of volar defects between the distal interphalangeal and metacarpophalangeal joint from July 2010 to August 2019. Patients with severe crush injuries (degloving, tendon or bone defects, or comminuted/intra-articular fractures), thumb injuries, multiple-joint and finger injuries, dorsal soft tissue defects, and defects >6 cm in length were excluded from the study, as were those lost to follow-up within 6 months. Thirteen patients received arterial (hypothenar, thenar, or second toe plantar) free flaps and 12 received venous free flaps. Patients' age, follow-up period, PIP joint active range of motion (ROM), extension lag, grip-strength ratio of the injured to the uninjured hand, and Quick Disabilities of Arm, Shoulder & Hand (QuickDASH) score were compared between the groups. Results Arterial free flaps showed significantly higher PIP joint active ROM (P=0.043) and lower extension lag (P =0.035) than venous free flaps. The differences in flexion, grip strength, and QuickDASH scores were not statistically significant. Conclusions The surgical outcomes of arterial free flaps were superior to those of venous free flaps for volar defects of the PIP joint.

  • An analysis of the free amino acid contained in the plasma and erythrocytes of the six groups of Wistar Strain male adult rats(body weight 200-300g) having fasted for sixteen hours was made by means of the HITACHI Amino Acid Autoanalyzer and the result of which was corrected with RC-24 B TOMY Micro Hematocrit Centrifuge. There was a depression of the plasma and erythrocytes free amino acid level on the noprotein diet with ad libitum feeding. But on the 20% casein diet there was an elevation in the levels of free amino acid and consequently alanine, glysine, lysine, serine and arginine level in the erythrocytes and threonine glutamic acid and taurine level in the plasma increased on the high protein diet. There was more plasma and erythrocytes free amino acid level on the 5% casein-30% fat diet than on the 5% casein-no fat diet with pair-feeding. In comparison, on the low calorie diet more free amino acids were found in plasma than in erythrocytes, but on the higher calorie diet more free amino acids were found in the erythrocytes than in the plasma. On the 20% casein-30% fat diet with pair-feeding the erythrocytes free amino acids level increased but in plasma free amino acids level decreased. Such as an opposite result was given in plasma and erythrocytes free amino acids level. In the pair-fed four groups, erythrocytes per plasma generally increased in the rate of less than 10.0 as the calorie increased. The essential amino acid per non essential amino acid generally increased in the ratio as protein level and calorie increased, and that ratio range was from 0.2 to 0.7. And essential amino acid per non essential amino acid of plasma was higher than that of erythrocytes.

  • Through the economic development, people enjoying the camping and demand of camping goods are increasing since they have free time. So they use portable butane gas range outdoor. In addition to that, many restaurants that offer hotpot or meat in Korea use portable butane gas ranges for their convenience. But 19% of gas accidents are using portable butane gas range, 13.7% of them are using oversized cookware. Despite the high accident rate, there is no safety standards about portable butane gas range using oversized cookware. Therefore we conducted to measure temperature and pressure of portable butane gas ranges for reforming safety standards. As a result. we confirmed relation between bottom temperature of the portable butane gas barrel and pressure of the butane gas. Also we confirmed that portable butane gas ranges operate safely when bottom temperature of the portable butane gas barrel is bellow $50^{\circ}C$.

원료콩의 증자조건을 달리한 검정콩 간장의 질소화합물 및 유리아미노산 (Nitrogen Compounds and Free Amino Acids of Black Bean Kanjang Prepared with Different Cooking Conditions of Whole Black Bean)

  • 검정콩을 이용한 기능성 간장을 제조하기 위한 연구의 일환으로 원료 콩의 증자조건에 따른 검정콩 전통간장의 숙성후, 질소화합물 및 유리아미노산의 함량을 조사하였다. 총질소 함량은 308.3∼925.0 mg%로 나타났으며, 상압이나 스팀에 비하여 가압으로 증자한 간장의 총질소 함량이 아주 낮았고, 스팀증자 시간이 길어짐에 따라 총질소 함량이 증가하였다 아미노태질소 함량은 133∼451.5 mg%로 나타났으며, 상압(451.5 mg%)이 가장 높았으며, 스팀(178.9∼224 mg%)이 가압으로 증자한 간장(133∼171.5 mg%)에 비하여 약간 높은 편이었다. 암모니아태 질소함량은 23.S∼142.0 mg%로 나타났으며, 상압과 스팀에 비하여 가압으로 증자한 검정콩 간장이 암모니아태 질소의 함량이 낮게 나타났다. 유리아미노산 함량은 133∼451.5 mg%로 나타났으며, 상압(451.5 mg%)이 가장 높았으며, 다음으로 스팀(178.9∼224 mg%)이 가압으로 증자한 간장(133∼171.5 mg%)에 비하여 약간 높은 편이었다. 색도의 명도(L값)은 45.13∼49.08의 범위로 시험구간에 큰 차이는 없었으나 대부분 상당히 낮은 값을 나타내었고, 적색도(a값)와 황색도(b값)은 각각 25.30∼34.43, 52.55∼74.13의 범위로 시험구간에 약간 차이가 있었다.
