스위치드-티 감쇠기를 이용한 초광대역 MMIC 디지털 감쇠기 설계 (Design of Ultra Wide Band MMIC Digital Attenuator using Switched-T Attenuator)

  • A broadband DC to 40 GHz 5-bit MMIC digital attenuator has been developed. The ultra broadband attenuator has been achieved by newly inserted the transmission lines in conventional Switched-T attenuator and the optimization of the transmission line parameters. Momentum was employed in design for an accurate performance prediction at high frequencies and Monte Carlo analysis was applied to verify performance stability against the MMIC process variation. The attenuator has been fabricated with 0.15 $\mu$m GaAs pHEMT process. This attenuator has 1 dB resolution and 23 dB dynamic range. High attenuation accuracy has been achieved over all attenuation range and full 40 GHz bandwidth with the reference state insertion loss of less than 6 dB at 20 GHz. The input and output return losses of the attenuator are better than 14 dB over all attenuation states and frequencies.

  • The purpose of the study is to evaluate the usage of microtremor in estimation of subsurface structure and ground response to ground motion. Ground motion amplification based on site condition of an area is an important parameter for dynamic design. Microtremor cover the characteristics in a low frequency range, while forced vibrations cover them in a high-frequency range. Microtremor consider ground characteristics and offer transfer function in area. To determine the dominant frequency, the passive microtremor measurement is performed and to determine the transfer function of test site, active microtremor measurement is performed. Microtremor measurement in the site is compared with theoretical transfer function calculated from the known structures.

한반도의 곰솔분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Distribution of Pinus thunbergii in the Korean Peninsula)

  • A distribution map of black pine, Pinus thunbergii, in south Korea was prepared through field surveys. According to Mirov(1967), the range of black pine is limited in east Asia, Japan and Korea; its northern limit is at about 41。34' north and its southern limit on Takara island, south Kyushu, at 29。 north. According to the present map, its northern limit coincided with the isopath of warmth index 100 by Yim(1977). The density of pine in grid mesh, about 4 km * 4 km, was higher at costal area than that in inland area, and it was also higher at sea side slope than the opposite slope of the same mountain. This suggests that the ecological distribution of black pine is greatly affected by salt content of the soil or the optimal range of summed temperature for the pine growth.

서울시 일원 약수의 수질에 관한 조사연구 (Studies on the Mineral Water in Seoul Area)

  • This study was carried out to investigate water quality and pollution in the mineral water located in Seoul area. 15 sites were pointed out by random sampling and tested monthly for 14 items from July to December in 1986. 1. 14 sites were suitable for the drinking water standards but 1 site was not suitable for its pH (5.4). 2. The range of mineral element and concentration were as follows: $$K\;(1.1\pm0.19\~2.38\pm0.45ppm)$$ $$Na\;(5.14\pm0.32\~11.2\pm0.58ppm)$$ $$Ca\;(4.36\pm0.53\~14.44\pm0.53ppm)$$ $$Mg(1.58\pm0.32\~6.34\pm0.77ppm)$$ 3. Among the heavy metals, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, were detected small amount but Pb was not detected in all sample. 4. Fluoride concentrations were the range of $0.13\pm0.03\~0.42\pm0.03ppm$.

  • This paper is results of analyzing causes of damage and rainfall characteristics to investigate characteristics of landslide occurrence and its causes at Inje area in Gangwondo around July in 2006 through collection of related data, literature review and field reconnaissance. From results of analyzing the geometrical characteristics of landslide slope, the slope width of showing the most probable frequency were in the range of 10~50m and the most frequent slope angle was in the range of $30{\sim}40^{\circ}$. The most probable elevation of slope was 200~300m. For the slope direction of landslides, the most frequent directions were NW and SE.

  • The effects of particle size on the surface properties of hydro-thermally synthesized barium titanate powders were investigated by means of particle size analysis, specific surface area, SEM, zeta potential and XPS. Particle sizes were measured by laser light scattering and are in the range of 150 to 1100nm. Zeta potential increased with increasing particle size and it was large minus value in the range of particle size from 500 to 900nm, which seems to be related with the dissolution of $Ba^{2+}$ ion in these particle sizes from the analysis of surface properties by XPS.

Guiding Properties of Square-lattice Photonic Crystal Fibers

  • In this paper we have investigated the guiding properties of photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) with a square-lattice of air-holes in the cladding. We have shown numerical results of PCFs with various air hole sizes and hole-to-hole spacings over a wide wavelength range. The group velocity dispersion, effective area and effective refractive index of PCF have been calculated numerically. The waveguide dispersion has greatly affected the group velocity dispersion when hole-to-hole spacing is about $1{\mu}m$. The effective area is quite flat over the wide spectral range whether the hole-to-hole spacing is large or ratio of diameter to pitch is large. From the field distribution, we found that the field is tightly confined within the core region of PCF when the pitch is $3{\mu}m$ and the air-filling fraction is 0.9.

석면방직업 근로자의 석면노출 실태와 과거농도 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Exposure Among Asbestos Textile Workers and Estimation of their Historical Exposures)

  • From July 8 to September 2 1994, asbestos exposure level among asbestos textile workers was surveyed. Six plants out of plants in Korea were selected for this study. In addition to the exposure level, the relationship between the level of exposure and some factors affecting exposure were studied. Also, using historical data of asbestos concentrations in asbestos textile plants plus current data, trend of asbestos exposure level could be introduced. Historical exposure level was estimated on the basis of these data. The main results of this study are follows. 1. Average concentration of all six plants surveyed was 1.54 f/cc, and range of those concentrations was 0.03 - 11.58 f/cc. The minimum average concentration was 0.32 f/cc and the maximum was 8.04 f/cc which is four times higher than the Korean standard. A wide difference of exposure level among the workers of different plants was observed. In three plants, the half of all the plants surveyed, their average concentrations exceeded the Korean standard, and those in all the plants exceeded the ACGIH TLV. 2. Among total 56 samples, 22 samples(39%) were in excess of the Korean standard, and 53 samples(95%) were above the ACGIH TLV. Among 32 personal samples, 15 samples(47%) exceeded the Korean standard, and 30 samples(94%) exceeded the ACGIH TLV. Among 24 area samples excluding a few samples collected in office area, seven samples exceeded the Korean standard, and 23 samples( 96%) exceeded the ACGIH TLV. 3. Distributions of concentrations were observed by processes. In weaving, the highest, average concentration was 4.29 f/cc, and range was 2.61 - 11.58 f/cc. In spinning, average concentration was 2.22 f/cc, and range was 0.41 - 8.93 f/cc. In carding, average concentration was 1.98 f/cc, and range was 0.23 - 10.93 f/cc, In twisting, average concentration was 1.65 f/cc, and range was 0.21 - 9.83 f/cc. In mixing, the lowest, average concentration was 0.48 f/cc, and range was 0.22 - 1.20 f/cc. 4. All the samples from basic processes of asbestos textile plants were above the ACGIH TLV. Nineteen samples(45%) out of all these 42 samples exceeded Korean standard. Fourteen samples(58%) of total 24 personal samples, and five samples(28%) of total 18 area samples exceeded the Korean standard. Considering processes, all the samples in weaving process exceeded the Korean standard and 50 did 54% of those in spinning, 40% in carding, and 27% in twisting. 5. Trend of decreasing asbestos concentrations in asbestos textile plants was observed by time. 6. Asbestos concentrations in asbestos textile plant in 1975 were estimated to be 11.0 - 92.4 f/cc.

물류계획을 위한 지역유형 추정 (Estimation of Area Type for Logistics Planning)

  • 지역유형(area type)은 물류수요의 잠재력(potential)과 밀접한 관련이 있다. 물류계획분야에서 지역유형 변수는 특히 발생모형(generation model)에서 물류유입(freight attraction)을 설명하는 모형변수로, 또한 수송수단선택모형(mode choice model)의 모형변수로 포함되는 것이 최근 선진국의 물류계획 실무분야에서 일반적인 추세이다. 하지만 지역유형은 그 동안 개념적으로 명확히 정의되지 못하였으며, 분석모형의 맥락에서 지역유형의 계량적 추정을 다룬 선행연구는 거의 없었다고 할 수 있다. 이런 이유 때문에 중/장기 물류수요예측 및 물류계획에 있어서 인구와 고용의 변화가 지역유형을 어떻게 변화시킬지에 관한 장기적인 예측을 하는 것이 어려웠다. 따라서 본 연구는 물류시설 SOC사업의 성공적 추진을 위하여 물류수요예측의 신뢰수준을 제고하는 데 있어 꼭 필요하고 시급한 연구로서 지역유형(area type)을 고려한 물류수요의 잠재력(potential)분석 방법을 제시하였다.

낙동강 하구역 진우도내 지형변동에 따른 식생면적의 변화 (Variation in Vegetation Area caused by Topographical Change at Jinudo in the Nakdong Estuary)

  • In order to analysis the variation in vegetation area caused by topographical change at Jinudo in the Nakdong estuary, we used aerial photographs of Jinudo from 1998 to 2006. To extract an accuracy shoreline from these aerial photographs, a tide calibration was performed. We also estimated the annual variation in topographic area and vegetation area, and then analyzed the relationship between them by a correlation analysis. The following results were obtained: 1) The calibrated shoreline distance of Jinudo from 1998 to 2006 was estimated to have a range of (-)1,927 cm to (+)4,671 cm. 2) Annual changes in the topographic area and vegetation area in Jinudo have been increasing gradually from 1998, and the correlation coefficient between topographic area and vegetation area is 0.97. 3) The estimated topographic areas were with following order: southern (III), eastern (IV), northern (II) and western (I), while for the vegetation area, the order was southern (III), northern (II), eastern (IV) and western (I). 4) The vegetation area of the southern region (III) of Jinudo had the largest size among the regions, and was calculated to be $4.3{\sim}5.4$ times larger than the eastern region (IV).
