Major countries stay to expand invest in R&D to promote new growth engines in the future and to secure new technologies and Korea is also expanding to R&D investment. Quality of R&D investment is getting more Important than quantity of R&D investment because Korea's indicator related to R&D investment is already world class with other countries's investment scale by comparison with GDP. According to this trend, Korea's policy in R&D is focusing the R&D Innovation Plan and "Utilization of R&D Facility and Equipment(F&E)" has been getting important. In this research, it research on facility and equipment management plan through Defense R&D Equipment information System(DRES). It analyzes existing process F&E in Defense field and Nation. Furthermore, it explains major process, function, and menu reflecting Defense F&E management rule enacted recently. Lastly, it shows the development direction for Defense F&E management.
The lymphotoxin ${\beta}$ receptor ($LT{\beta}R$), a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family, plays an important role in lymphoid tissue's architecture and organogenesis. We found that $LT{\beta}R$ stimulation induced changes in stress fibers (SFs) in fibroblastic reticular cells (FRCs). MLCK and ROCK play critical roles in the regulation of SF formation in cells. The present study was performed to investigate the antifibrotic effects on SF regulation of $LT{\beta}R$ signaling, with a focus on MLCK inhibition. The effect of $LT{\beta}R$ on the SF change was analyzed using immunoblot and fluorescence assays and agonistic $anti-LT{\beta}R$ antibody-treated FRCs. In addition, we checked the level of Rho-guanosine diphosphate (GDP)/guanosine triphosphate (GTP) exchange activity with FRC lysate. Phospho-ezrin proteins acting as membrane-cytoskeleton linkers completely de-phosphorylated in agonistic $anti-LT{\beta}R$ antibody-treated FRCs. The actin bundles rearranged into SFs, where phospho-myosin light chain (p-MLC) co-localized in FRCs. ML7-treated FRCs completely blocked SFs and showed retraction and shrinkage processes comparable to those observed in agonistic $anti-LT{\beta}R$ antibody-treated cells. Inhibition of ROCK activity induced changes in the actin cytoskeleton organization; however, some SFs remained in the cells, while they were completely disrupted by MLCK inhibition with ML7. We showed that the phosphorylation of MLC was completely abolished with $LT{\beta}R$ stimulation in FRCs. When $LT{\beta}R$ was stimulated with the agonistic $anti-LT{\beta}R$ antibody, the Rho-GDP/GTP exchange activity was reduced, however, the activity was not completely abolished. Collectively, the results illustrated that MLCK was potently responsible for the SF regulation triggered via $LT{\beta}R$ signaling in FRCs.

R&D investment has rised in recent years. Korea's R&D budget is 43.8 trillion won which is 3.74% adjusted gross domestic product in 2010. Technological advances and technical inovation will bring productivity growth to Firm and Firm's productivity growth will increase GDP in sequence. Therefore the importance of study on the Firm's R&D industry is getting growing. In this study we attempt to analyse the economic impact of the Firm's R&D industry through several years using an inter-industry analysis. Specifically, this study analyze production-inducing effect, value added inducing effect, and employ-inducing effect based on demand-driven model. The analysed results of year from 1995 to 2009, the Firm's R&D investment increases production-inducing effect, value added inducing effect, and employ-inducing effect with the course of time. This means that influence of the Firm's R&D industry has increased.
R&D (Research and Development) investment by companies and the government continues to increase, and the total R&D expenditure of public and private sectors in 2021 reached KRW 102 trillion, and the ratio of R&D investment to GDP was 4.96%. It ranks second in the world after Israel. This study analyzes the current status of the domestic R&D service industry and the research and development (R&D) innovation ecosystem based on the business activity survey data of the National Statistical Office in terms of improving R&D productivity of domestic R&D investment that has exceeded 100 trillion won, and analyzes the global R&D service industry and analyzes the global research service industry and R&D service Industry support government policy As a result of the analysis, in the domestic R&D ecosystem, the R&D outsourcing demand of service companies is rapidly increasing, compared to the stagnant R&D outsourcing demand of traditional manufacturing companies. In order to respond to these changing demands for technological innovation, this study suggests balanced support for R&D outsourcing for manufacturing and service companies, expansion of domestic R&D outsourcing, establishment of R&D outsourcing strategies specialized for the service industry, establishment of an open R&D ecosystem, and innovation in connection with materials/parts/equipment strategies.
Korea has increased R&D investment continuously for the improvement of global technological competencies. Korea ranked first in the world with 4.15 percent in the ratio of R&D investment to GDP. In particular, the private sector occupies a crucial position of technological innovations in Korea, constituting 78.5% of total R&D investment. However, quantitative growth strategy is no longer effective, so efforts to enhance efficiency by upgrading qualitative level are badly needed. This paper studied methods for improving firms' business performance. For this, it tried to empirically verify technology strategy and technology planning capability's influence factors on the improvement of business performance. The study showed that technology strategy and technology planning activities have positive effects on the improvement of business performance. And it was revealed that coordination flexibility contributes to the enhancement of business performance by positively controlling technology planning activities. The study performed sample survey on the companies with R&D centers and multiple regression analysis and quantile regression were used for the analysis.

HDF5 data format is used to effectively store and distribute large volume of Geostationary Ocean Color Imager(GOCI) satellite data. The Korea Ocean Satellite Center has developed and provided a GOCI Data Processing System(GDPS) for general users who are not familiar with HDF5 format. Nevertheless, it is not easy to merge and process Hierarchical Data Format version5(HDF5) data that requires an understanding of satellite data characteristics, needs to learn how to use GDPS, and stores location and attribute information separately. Therefore, the open source R and rhdf5, data.table, and matrixStats packages were used to develop algorithm that could easily utilize satellite data in HDF5 format without the need for the process of using GDPS.

This study investigates if the relationships between hemline and macro-economic factors (rGDP, recession, and unemployment) are still applicable as well as analyzes time lags that reflect economic factors on the hemline index using U.S. data. The hemline theory and fashion cyclical theory were applied to propose the relationships studied. The data for the hemline measurements of women's day-wear were obtained from US Vogue spring and fall editions from 1950 to 2014. Data were standardized by dividing the length from shoulder to hemline by the length from the shoulder to ankle. I aggregated 2260 samples and hemline data to create a yearly average. This study used OLS of Stata 13 program to explore the relationship between macro-economic factors and hemline. The main findings were the recession and unemployment influenced hemline length for four years in a positive direction. Furthermore, the effects of previous recession and unemployment on the current hemline were very close to the significant level respectively. This finding supports the hemline theory in that a recessionary economy is related to longer hemlines and hemlines become shorter in flourishing economic periods.
We evaluated industry growth and employment effects of every possible pairs of 22 manufacturing sectors and 16 regions (i.e, 352 region-sectors). We used annual data of manufacturing sectors from 2008 to 2014 for the evaluation. The evaluation comprises of two steps; We first find several region-sectors that outperform others with respect to the effects of industry growth and employment, which are measured by location quotient analysis, shift share method, employment to GDP ratio and employment elasticity. In addition, cross-efficiency analysis follows to classify region-sector pairs into two sub-categories : efficient region-sectors that deserve to hold the current level of investments and inefficient region-sectors where we should consider efficiency improvements. To examine the efficiency, R&D investment, employment size, and capital investment were used as input factors and production volume, added value, changes in employment size, changes in annual salary per capita were used as output factors. For region-sector pairs that have outstanding growth and employment effects but are inefficient, we employed a CCR DEA model and analyzed how much to adjust the values of input and output factors to improve the efficiency scores. The analysis results showed that inefficiency is mainly due to several factors such as R&D investment, changes in employment size and changes in annual salary per capita.
Studies on the relation between socio-economic factors and metermal and child health have found that poverty, lack of edcation, inappropriate health serives are affecting to maternal and child health. The Gender Related Development Index (GDI) focuses on equality between men and women as well as on the average achiement of all people taken together, using same cariables as the Human Development Index (HDI) which are life expectancy, literacy rate, and per capita GDP. This research is to inverstigate whether HDI and GDI are useful determinants for maternal infant mortality. Using 146 UN member countries date, we condented multiple regression analysis for maternal and infant mortality with three models which are Model(individual variables-literacy rate, per capita GDP), Model(HDI) and Model(GDI). The results showed that HDI and GDI are powerful determinants of both maternal and infant mortality, respectively HDI($\beta$=-1.18, t=3.3; $\beta$=1.04, t=5.1) GDI($\beta$=-1.44, t=3.9; $\beta$=1.28, t=6.5) The higher power in model with GDI for both maternal and infant mortalities represented that GDI was more powerful determinant of maternal and infant mortality, than HDI respectively HDI($R^2$=0.824, $R^2$=0.842), GDI($R^2$=0.834, $R^2$=0.865). In conclusion, the maternal and infant mortalities are explained by GDI than HDI and may be lower in the societies where there are less discimination between men and women.
Korea government established the energy technology development plan (2011-2020) and declared to be a leader of the green energy technologies. The plan aims for 10% market share in the green energy industry, 12% energy efficiency improvement, and 15% greenhouse gas reduction. In order to achieve these goals, the government has tried to calculate the whole scale of national energy R&D investment, annual budget and specific expenditures for new technologies by computer simulation. The simulation modules include the R&D investment model, GDP model, energy consumption and $CO_2$ emission model by System Dynamics. Based on these simulation modules, I tested various scenarios for effectiveness of energy R&D investments until 2020. The results show that Korea should increase national energy R&D investment to 2.3 billion U.S. dollars, and switch the investment from electricity and nuclear power to the renewable energy.
