  • In this paper, our main purpose is to consider the quasilinear elliptic equation $$div(|{\nabla}u|^{p-2}{\nabla}u)=(p-1)f(u)$$ on a bounded smooth domain ${\Omega}\;{\subset}\;R^N$, where p > 1, N > 1 and f is a smooth, increasing function in [0, ${\infty}$). We get some estimates of a solution u satisfying $u(x){\rightarrow}{\infty}$ as $d(x,\;{\partial}{\Omega}){\rightarrow}0$ under different conditions on f.

  • In this paper we study the existence and long-time behavior of weak solutions to a class of quasilinear degenerate parabolic equations involving weighted p-Laplacian operators with a new class of nonlinearities. First, we prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions by combining the compactness and monotone methods and the weak convergence techniques in Orlicz spaces. Then, we prove the existence of global attractors by using the asymptotic a priori estimates method.

  • Suppose that G = (V, E) is a connected locally finite graph with the vertex set V and the edge set E. Let ${\Omega}{\subset}V$ be a bounded domain. Consider the following quasilinear elliptic equation on graph G $$\{-{\Delta}_{pu}={\lambda}K(x){\mid}u{\mid}^{p-2}u+f(x,u),\;x{\in}{\Omega}^{\circ},\\u=0,\;x{\in}{\partial}{\Omega},$$ where ${\Omega}^{\circ}$ and ${\partial}{\Omega}$ denote the interior and the boundary of ${\Omega}$, respectively, ${\Delta}_p$ is the discrete p-Laplacian, K(x) is a given function which may change sign, ${\lambda}$ is the eigenvalue parameter and f(x, u) has exponential growth. We prove the existence and monotonicity of the principal eigenvalue of the corresponding eigenvalue problem. Furthermore, we also obtain the existence of a positive solution by using variational methods.

  • The effect of the vibration mode coupling induced by the vibration-rotation interaction on total energy was investigated for the states with zero total angular momentum(J=0) in a quasilinear symmetric triatomic molecule of $AB_2$ type using a model potential function with a slight potential barrier to linearity. It is found that the coupling energy becomes larger for the levels of bend and asymmetric stretch modes and smaller for symmetric stretch mode as the excitation of the vibrational modes occurs. The results for the real molecule of $CH_2^+$, which is quasilinear, generally agree with the results for the model potential function in that common mode selective dependence of coupling energy is exhibited in both cases. The differences between the results for the model and real potential function in H-C-H system are analyzed and explained in terms of heavy mixing of the symmetric stretch and bend mode in excited vibrational states of the real molecule of $CH_2^+$. It is shown that the vibrational mode coupling in the potential energy function is primarily responsible for the broken nodal structure and chaotic behavior in highly excited levels of $CH_2^+$ for J= 0.

  • In order to study the propagation of singularities for solutions to second order quasilinear strictly hyperbolic equations with boundary, we have to consider the regularity of solutions of first order nonlinear equations satisfied by a characteristic hyper-surface. In this paper, we study the regularity compositions of the form v(${\varphi}$(x), x) with v and ${\varphi}$ assumed to have limited Sobolev regularities and we use it to prove the regularity of solutions of the first order nonlinear equations.

  • We prove the local existence of classical solutions of quasi-linear integrodifferential equations in Banach spaces. The results are obtained by using fractional powers of operators and the Schauder fixed-point theorem. An example is provided to illustrate the theory.

  • We study a class of quasilinear wave equations with strong and nonlinear viscosity. By using the perturbation method for semilinear parabolic equations, we have established the fundamental results on existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence on data of weak solutions.

  • We show the existence and uniqueness of solutions for the Cauchy problem for nonlinear evolution equations with the strong damping: ${\upsilon}"(t)-M(|{\nablauu}(t)|^2){\triangle}u(t)-{\delta}{\triangle}u'(t)=f(t)$. As an application, a Kirchhoff model with viscosity is given.

  • We study the initial value problem of the exponential wave equation in $\math{R}^{n+1}$ for small initial data. We shows, in the case of $n=1$, the global existence of solution by applying the formulation of first order quasilinear hyperbolic system which is weakly linearly degenerate. When $n{\geq}2$, a vector field method is applied to show the stability of a trivial solution ${\phi}=0$.
