A study on the evaluation of electronic security systems using the AHP (AHP를 이용한 전자경비 시스템의 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The use of advanced electronic security system is growing quickly to protect properties and life. However, customers cannot select appropriate configuration of the system because there are no objective evaluation methods to measure the security ability of the system. Furthermore, the system suppliers cannot propose quantitative value of security ability of the system. This study suggests an objective evaluation and selection method that customers and suppliers can use to base his or her decision when choosing the most appropriate configuration of the system. Our method identifies 6 characteristics and 20 sub- characteristics of the electronic security system, calculates their weights, and decides the best configuration. We use AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) to assign the weights of characteristics. Finally, this paper gives an example to compare four alternative configurations of the system.

  • This paper presents a method fer evaluation nodal probabilistic congestion and reliability indices of transmission systems using Monte Carlo simulation methods. Quantitative evaluation of transmission system reliability is very important because successful operation of an electric power system. In the deregulated electricity market depends on transmission system reliability management Monte Carlo methods are often preferable, when complex operating conditions are involved and/or the number of sever events is relatively large. To evaluate the reliability of a real power system, Monte Carlo Methods will be more useful. The characteristics and effectiveness of this methodology are illustrated by the case study using a small test system.

Study on Highly Accuracy Quality Evaluation of Spot Weld by use of Image Processing Technique

  • This paper discusses the feasibility of Ultrasonic Nondestructive Evaluation (UNDE) technique for sport weld quality. Ultrasonic c-scan image assisted by image processing technique was used for Nondestructive Evaluation(NDE) of spot weld quality. Ultrasonic testing results obtained were confirmed and compared by Optical Microscope and SAM(Scanning Acoustic Mircroscope) observation of the spot-weld cross section, The results show that the nugget dinameter can be successfully measured with the accuracy of 0.5mm. It was ascertained that ultrasonic c-scan technique is very effective method for the sake of the approach to the quantitative measurement of nugget diameter and the discrimination of the corona bond from nugget. Additional support for the above conclusions is provided by the results for galvanized steel. The ultrasonic results for galvanized welds generally correspond to the results for uncoated steel. Finally, it was found that the above-mentioned technique can be sufficiently applied to NDE method for securing the Quality Assurance(QA) of spot welded products in production line.

  • This study is quantitative landscape resources evaluation using Google panoramio geotagged photo collections. Panoramio geotagged photos are including the location information and time information. That is the valuation of the landscape resources and time series analysis allows. And Seasonal changes in preference for a particular landscape can be identified. This study used data from the general public has been produced by the Web 2.0 environment. So, the proposed method in this study will be complement the method using surveys and expert.

  • Mean opinion score (MOS) method has been used in many areas to quantify opinions of respondents not only in survey research but in evaluating the parameters of population that are not measurable of are technically hard to be measured. Histogram is an important graphical technique because of the role it plays in describing categorical data as well as quantitative. In MOS method, subjective opinions of respondents are quantified by opinion scores and the arithmetic means of opinion scores have been used to describe the interesting population. Since opinion scores are polytomous, the values of arithmetic means have little meanings. In this paper, cumulative percentage curves as a function of the means of opinion scores are derived by combining means of opinion scores and histograms. It is proposed for better interpretation to opinion scores in MOS method, one of subjective evaluation methods.

  • Nuclear power plant structures may be exposed to aggressive environmental effects that may cause their damage mechanisms are reasonably well understood and quantitative evaluation of their effects on time-dependent structural behavior is possible in some instances, such evaluations are generally very difficult and remain novel. The assessment of existing steel containment in nuclear power plants for continued service must provide quantitative evidence that they are able to withstand future extreme loads during a service period with an acceptable level of reliability. Rational methodologies to perform the reliability assessment can be developed from mechanistic models of structural deterioration, using time-dependent structural reliability analysis to take loading and strength uncertainties into account. The final goal of this study is to develop the analysis method for the analysis for the reliability of containment structures. The cause and mechanism of corrosion is first clarified and the reliability assessment method has been established. By introducing the equivalent normal distribution, the procedure of reliability analysis which can determine the failure probabilities has been established.

  • This study has been conducted to describe the establishment of national measures to reduce world energy consumption and $CO_2$ Emission. Particularly, Reductions in energy consumption from building operation is the most important part to achieve these national objectives. Element to evaluate the quantitative effects of these systems by having rationalized regulation and operation is essential, when planning for building energy reduction design. USGBC(US Green Building Council) have operated sustainable assessment method called LEED, which introduces baseline performance and evaluation direction for building simulation techniques. This research analyzed Quantitative assessments of the building energy consumption and analyzed baseline figures to provide comparative analysis with standard building settings.

  • It become increasingly important to design user interface to carry low complexity. The cognitive limitations of users severely restrict utility of highly intelligent but complex modern systems. Since humans are known to use schemas to reduce cognitive complexity, imposing good consistency to an interface design that may help that user form useful schemas will provide powerful control over the complexity. This present a research effort to develop a quantitative method for evaluating interface complexity that the user would experience planning his or her course of action. Taking into account the user's potential schemas, a quantitative measure based on information theory was develped to assess the navigational complexity. This approach does not rely on the subjective judgment of the researcher as most schemes dealing with user schemas do. The proposed method may benefit the rapid prototyping approach to design a better user interface by allowing handy assessment of the design.

  • Zanthoxyli Fructus has been used in traditional medicine for the treatment of analgesic, gastric disorder, rheumatism etc. In order to evaluate the quality of Zanthoxyli Fructus, the method of isolation and quantitative determination of xanthoxylin as a standard compound has been developed. The HPLC method, using the mobile phase of acetonitrile-water (4:6), showed that the amount of xanthoxylin wεre in the rangε of 0.01 to 2.67%.
