The Janus Concept -A Completely New Calendering Technology to Meet Future Market Requirements

  • At Present, high-quality paper finishes are obtained by the exclusive un of supercalenders and softcalenders. Experience has shown that both calendering processes will not always k able to meet future requirements of increased efficiency combined with improved paper finish. The answer to these challenges is the development of a new technology, a synergy of supercalender and soft-calender called the “Janus concept”. This paper outlines the rationale behind this new development as well in the technical characteristics providing for the successful online integration irrespective of production speed. Laboratory results are included ta demonstrate that the Janus Concept enables a high-quality SC finish even at PM or CM speeds.

  • In order to find out the customer requirements and to develop new products more effectively, the Kano model and QFD(Quality Function Deployment), AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) developed and applied. But, Many companies difficult to select the CTQ(Critical to Quality) of new product. Especially the life cycle of cell phone is very short. In this thesis, the Kano model and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) for finding the CTQ(Critical to Quality) for customer satisfaction are suggested. It is explained and discussed with the example of cell phone.

An 18-Pulse Full-Wave AC-DC Converter for Power Quality Improvement

  • In this paper, a novel delta/double-fork transformer based 18-pulse full-wave AC-DC converter is designed, modeled, simulated and developed to feed isolated DC varying loads. The proposed AC-DC converter is used for low voltage and large current DC loads in applications such as electrowinning, where isolation is required mainly for stepping down the supply voltage. The proposed converter improves power quality at AC mains and meets IEEE-519 standard requirements at varying loads.

  • The aim of this study is to improve quality system through mutual understanding for the opinion gap among interested parties such as owner, designer, constructor and supervisor in construction industry. The survey to the owners, designers, constructors, and supervisors who are in charge of quality of the 183 architectural projects being constructed has been performed for investigating the importance and actual level of quality and quality factors. Questionnaires are based on the quality factors shown in ISO 9001:2000 international quality management system requirements. There are distinct opinion gaps for quality among owner, designer, constructor, and supervisor who working for the same architectural projects.

초우량 조직을 위한 품질경영혁신 도전 -한국과 중국의 비교- (Excellence for Organization Quality Management Innovation Challenge -Comparison of Korea and China-)

  • Purpose: Quality Innovation Managements recently focus on developing relationship with customers to meet their requirements and enhance loyalty in the competitive environments in Countries. The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of innovation, quality, satisfaction and customer loyalty. Methods: After reviewing the literatures, the structural equation modeling (SEM) was conducted test the research model. The data was collected from Quality Leader by the questionnaire In Korea and China. Results: The results of SEM show that hardware innovation quality have a positive effect on customer satisfaction. Customer Satisfaction have a positive effect on customer satisfaction. Conclusion: The authors demonstrate that the hardware innovation quality is related positively to customer satisfaction. And customer satisfaction has a positive effect on customer loyalty. A number of notable findings are reported including the empirical verification that hardware innovation quality, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty may all be directly related to business performance.

  • 국제표준은 소프트웨어의 일반적인 특성과 공통성을 토대로 구축된 것이다. 따라서 특정한 지식정보보안 제품에 적용하기 위해서는 제품의 특성을 최대한 고려하고 관련 표준을 적용하여 평가 방법을 최적화하는 과정이 필수라 할 수 있다. 아울러, 소프트웨어 분야의 급격한 발전으로 인해 국제표준의 변화도 불가피하기 때문에 표준의 구성이나 내용이 지속적으로 변화되어 왔고 이러한 변화를 수용한 평가방법의 구축도 필요한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 지식정보보안 제품 중 침입차단시스템(Firewall)의 품질수준을 평가하여 개선방향을 도출함으로써 품질향상을 지원할 수 있는 평가모델을 개발하였다. 이를 위해 침입차단시스템의 동향 및 기술적인 요소들을 조사 분석하고 침입차단시스템의 특성을 고려하여 일반 품질 요구사항과 고유한 품질 요구사항을 도출하고 품질평가 모델과 평가 방법을 제시하였다.

품질경영활동이 중소기업 경영성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of QM Activities on the Management Results of Small and Medium sized Enterprises in South Korea)

  • In this study, a correlation between execution of quality management activities and their results was verified by applying the Malcolm Baldrige model (hereafter referred to as the MB model) as a quality management performance measurement indicator for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in South Korea. To achieve this goal, we need to determine whether the categorical requirements in the MB model are recognized consistently in SMEs, as a prerequisite. To this end, factor analysis was conducted for measurement variables in each category, which revealed that the process indicator was made up of six factors and the outcome indicator was made up of five factors, like those configured in the MB model. This result can be interpreted to mean that the requirements in each category of the MB model were well produced and recognized consistently throughout SMEs in South Korea. In addition, the analysis of causality between the process indicator (quality management activities) and the outcome indicator (management results) showed high causality between them. Although the quality management levels of SMEs in South Korea are inferior to those of conglomerates or other national quality award-winning companies, this study is significant in that the causality between quality management activities and results was verified, since this study targeted SMEs in South Korea as the target of investigation. Thus, it is empirically proven that the MB model can contribute to improved management results for SMEs in Korea.

품질기능전개(QFD)를 이용한 중앙행정기관의 기록관 서비스 품질개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement for Archives Service Quality of Central Government Agencies Using QFD)

  • 공공기관의 기록관은 업무 수행과정에서 생산되는 가치 있는 기록물을 수집 보존하고 동시에 이용자에게 적극적으로 서비스해야 할 책임이 있는 기관이다. 본 연구에서는 품질기능전개(QFD) 기법을 활용하여 기록관이 설치된 공공기관을 대상으로 기록관 서비스의 품질을 측정하고 이를 개선하기 위한 우선순위를 도출하고자 한다. QFD의 구성요소를 규명하기 위하여 중앙행정기관 6곳의 기록관 내부이용자를 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였고, 문헌연구와 기록연구사와의 면담을 수행하였다. 이후 도출된 이용자 요구사항의 중요도와 기술특성을 기반으로 품질의 집(HoQ)을 구축하여 기록관 서비스 기술특성의 중요도와 우선순위를 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 중앙행정기관의 기록관 서비스는 내부이용자의 기록 이용 가능성을 높이는 서비스에 중점을 두어야 하고, 특히 기록물의 검색, 열람, 대출서비스 지원을 강화해야 함을 확인할 수 있었다.
