  • Recently, industrial environments have been drastically changed. Customers require cheaper, better, stronger products more than ever. Thus companies have to satisfy the requirements of customers to be survived in this kind of industrial environments. To cope with these requirements from customers, engineers in industries must accept new paradigm and use some special tools for developing new product. This study has applied a Concurrent Engineering which would be good for shortening of product development period in developing of Full Logic Deck mechanism using in car audio. In this paper, a real case of systematic approach and successful story of Concurrent Engineering application in developing Full Logic Deck mechanism is illustrated.

  • Opportunistic scheduling provides the capability of resource management in wireless networks by taking advantage of multiuser diversity and by allowing delay variation in delivering data packets. It generally aims to maximize system throughput or guarantee fairness and quality of service (QoS) requirements. In this paper, we develop an extended proportional fair (PF) scheduling policy that can statistically guarantee three kinds of QoS. The scheduling policy is derived by solving the optimization problems in an ideal system according to QoS constraints. We prove that the practical version of the scheduling policy is optimal in opportunistic scheduling systems. As each scheduling policy has some parameters, we also consider practical parameter adaptation algorithms that require low implementation complexity and show their convergences mathematically. Through simulations, we confirm that our proposed schedulers show good fairness performance in addition to guaranteeing each user's QoS requirements.

  • The continuing demand for quality products requires better understanding and improved control of the production process. And, in recent year requirements for flatness control in strip rolling have become increasinglysevere because of the control for flatness of cold rolled strip is essential for further down stream processing. Also a speeds of rolling mills to meet productivity requirements puts a demanding requirement on the control of flatness of rolled strip. The demands on a total flatness control system therefore are a measuring and indication system consisting of a measuring roll that is robust, accurate, reliable and require a minimum of maintenance. The critical prt of any control system is the quality of the information being provided by the measurement instrument or device. It is therfore of utmost importance to have an accurate, repeatable and reliable measuring system. So, in this paper, The measuring roll for automatic flatness control system of contact type has been investigated.

  • Customer satisfaction is an ever-growing concern of management throughout the world. To find the way to increase customer satisfaction, we must understand customer requirements. Kano distinguishes between three types of product requirements(must-be, one-dimensional, attractive requirement) which influence customer satisfaction in different ways when met. Timko has developed customer satisfaction(CS) coefficient based on Kano model. The CS coefficient is indicative of how strongly a product feature may influence satisfaction. In this paper, potential customer satisfaction improvement(PCSI) index was developed using Kano model and CS coefficient. The PCSI index represents how much a product feature can increase the degree of customer satisfaction when the product feature is fully fulfilled. In order to explain the meaning of PCSI index, a case study for cellular phones is done. It is also discussed how to use the index strategically.

  • This part of ISO 1940 gives recommendations for determining unbalance and for specifying related quality requirements of rigid rotors; it specifies a) a representation of unbalance in one or two planes; b) methods for determining permissible residual unbalance; c) methods for allocating it to the correction planes; d) methods for identifying he residual unbalance state of a rotor by measurement; e) a summary of errors associated with the residual unbalance identification. This part of ISO 1940 is also intended to facilitate the relations between manufacturer and user of machines. Detailed consideration of errors associated with the determination of residual unbalance is covered in the 2nd part of ISO 1940 (ISO 1940-2 will deal with these errors).

  • Supporting quality of service (QoS) guarantees for diverse multimedia services are the primary concerns for WiMAX (IEEE 802.16) networks. A scheduling scheme that satisfies QoS requirements has become more important for wireless communications. We propose a downlink scheduling scheme called adaptive priority-based downlink scheduling (APDS) for providing QoS guarantees in IEEE 802.16 networks. APDS comprises two major components: Priority assignment and resource allocation. Different service-type connections primarily depend on their QoS requirements to adjust priority assignments and dispatch bandwidth resources dynamically. We consider both starvation avoidance and resource management. Simulation results show that our APDS methodology outperforms the representative scheduling approaches in QoS satisfaction and maintains fairness in starvation prevention.

  • This paper investigates the relative effect of each ISO 9001 : 2000 quality management system's requirement and business performance. The empirical tests are conducted in ISO 9001 certification companies. As a result, the $1^{st}$, it shows the requirements positively affect performance of financial. The $2^{nd}$, also it shows the requirements positively affect non-financial performance. The $3^{rd}$ also it show the non-financial performance positively effect performance of financial performance.

  • The ISO 9000 family of international quality management standards were revised on 15 December 2000. The ISO 9001:2000 standard is used for certification/registration and contractual purposes by organizations seeking recognition of their quality management system(QMS). We summarize key contents changed in ISO 9000:2000 family standards. To comply with ISO 9001:2000, we analyze the current QMS for steel outfit industry, using audit results from ISO 9001:1994 for seven steel outfit firms during last three years. We investigate statistical relationships between ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 9001:1994 requirements from a three dimensional contingency table with audit results. We observe that the importance of requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 sections makes a difference between companies.

  • The downlink rate scheduling problem is considered for CDMA networks with multiple users carrying packets of heterogeneous traffic (voice/audio only, bursty data only or mixed traffic), with each type having its own distinct quality of service requirements. Several rate scheduling algorithms are developed, the common factor of which is that part of the decision on which users to serve is based on a function of the deadline of their head-ofline packets. An approach of Andrews et al., in which the basic Earliest-Deadline-First algorithm is studied for similar systems, is extended to result in better performance by considering a more efficient power usage and by allowing service of more than one user per timeslot if the power resources permit it. Finally, the performance of the proposed schemes is compared through simulations.
