The skin color of a human being is the important memory color influencing image quality for color display. Therefore, in this paper, the preferred skin color axis is defined on HSV color space by analyzing some previous research, and the preferred skin color reproduction algorithm is performed by rotating the center axis of skin distribution of an input image to the preferred skin color axis.

Decision support system (DSS) has been expected to be a powerful tool for aiding the decision making processes in business organizations. But it's contribution has turned to be somewhat doubtful, In this paper, an intergrated systems design apporach is suggested, which integrates DSS and expert system (ES) for the enhancement of performance of DSS, after carefully reviewing both DSS and ES.

Although the picture quality of today's displays is very good already, a continuous improvement is desirable as the new larger display sizes increase the visibility of artifacts. A contributing factor for picture quality enhancement through smart video processing and algorithm design is the information gathered from video statistics. Interesting parameters gathered from video statistics are e.g. the image- and display load, the usage of the color gamut, the estimated power consumption and the occurrence of static image parts. Examples of applications that can benefit from video statistics are power calculations, color gamut mapping algorithms, dynamic backlight control for LCD panels and LED backlights for LCD panels.

For Near-field Scanning Optical Microscopy measurements, the fiber tip is glued on the side of one of the tuning fork prongs vertically to its extended direction. Higher Q-factor is attainable in this geometry than in the arrangement with the fiber tip parallel to the prong. A simple mechanical design is applied to hold the fiber tip above the gluing point. The overall tuning fork-fiber tip assembly gives another advantage of the flexible Q-factor enhancement. With this treatment, Q-factor higher than 3000 is easily achievable. As an operating instance, a grating is scanned for its one dimensional topographical image.

The purpose of this study is to identify (1) the successful quality management activities of domestic enterprises contribute to enhancing both corporate and national competitiveness and that the corporate and national competitiveness are related each other; (2) and to have the government and the citizens as well as enterprises re-recognize the importance of quality management and encourage them to make aggressive investments on quality management. It was found in this study that the enterprises with quality management scheme showed better performance that those without quality management activities. It was also found that quality competitiveness is a key factor for the enhancement of the national competitiveness, and that although quality improvement is normally realized through efforts of private enterprises (a conventional paradigm), active government support and participation are absolutely necessary for the competitiveness of the nation and industries. Accordingly, the quality management should be recognized not only as part of business improvement activities, but as nationwide activities where public sectors including government enterprises, hospitals, schools, regional governments, media companies and citizens groups are involved. In order to build a high-quality nation in the 21st century, the quality improvement should be realized through concerted efforts of the people, enterprises and the government.

본 연구는 혈류에 의한 조영제 peak time을 산출하는 새로운 방법을 개발하여 기존의 수식에 의한 부작용을 최소화 하고, 대체할 수 있는 새로운 검사법을 제시하고자 하였다. 시험적조영제주입법을 이용하여 CE MRA를 검사한 환자 127명을 대상으로, 기존의 수식에 의해 산출된 조영제 peak time이 조영제 주입 후 혈류에 의한 영상화 범위의 어느 뇌혈관 측정값과 일치하는지 각 뇌혈관의 조영제 inflow time과 peak time을 측정하였다. 연구결과, 유의수준 0.05에 대한 4개의 집단 간 차이가 존재하였으나 집단 1에서 수식에 의해 산출된 조영제 peak time과 S상 정맥동의 조영제 inflow time이 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없어 일치하였으며, Bland Altman plot를 시행한 결과 일치도가 상당히 높은 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구의 혈류에 의한 새로운 방법을 적용한다면, 부작용 가능성을 최소화하고, 영상의 질은 유지하면서, 쉽고 빠르게 적용할 수 있어, 기존의 수식에 의해 산출된 조영제 peak time을 대체 할 수 있으리라 사료된다.

Purpose: This study was designed to identify whether organizational characteristics of Korean companies can make differences in innovative capability and Malcolm Baldridge management quality standard. In addition, based on the results and by verifying the influence of the innovative capability to management quality activity, it was to investigate the relations between the two factors. Methods: The subjects of this study were workers at major companies and small-and-medium sized companies. T-test was used to identify differences in innovative capabilities of industrial and age, position classifications, and regression analysis was employed to verify the influences of the innovative capability to the management quality activity. Results: The size of company caused some differences in market innovative sector regarding innovative capability. Management quality activity showed differences because of the sizes of companies and their supply types, while innovative capability influenced on all sectors of management quality activity. Conclusion: In this study Malcolm Baldridge management quality standard was applied to Korean companies. The results verified the meaningful influence of innovative capability to management quality activity. This means that the management quality activity can make a better performance when the innovative capability is good enough. Thus, the enhancement of management quality activity requires the boost of innovative capabilities of organization members.

The quality prediction of the semiconductor industry has been widely recognized as important and critical for quality improvement and productivity enhancement. The main objective of this paper is to predict the final quality of semiconductor chips based on fail bit count information obtained from probe tests. Our proposed method consists of solving the data imbalance problem, non-parametric variable selection, and adjusting the parameters of the model. We demonstrate the usefulness and applicability of the proposed procedure using a real data from a semiconductor manufacturing.

The heat transfer characteristics of refrigerant-oil mixture for horizontal in-tube evaporator have been investigated experimentally. A smooth copper tube and a micro-fin tube with nominal 9.5 mm outer diameter and 1500 mm length were tested. For the pure refrigerant flow, the dependence of the axial heat transfer coefficient on quality was weak in the smooth tube, but in the micro-fin tube, the coefficients were 3 to 10 times greater as quality increases. Oil addition to pure refrigerant in the smooth tube altered the flow pattern dramatically at low mass fluxes, with a resultant enhancement of the wetting area by vigorous foaming. The heat transfer coefficients of the mixture for low and medium qualities were increased at low mass fluxes. In the micro-fin tube, however, the addition of oil deteriorates the local heat transfer performance for most of the quality range, except for low quality. The micro-fin tube consequently loses its advantage of high heat transfer performance for an oil fraction of 5%. Results are presented as plots of local heat transfer coefficient versus quality.

SK Telecom에서 현재 서비스중인 EVRC 보코더는 유선전화 수준의 음질을 제공하는 우수한 음성 부호화기이나, 약전계에서 급격한 음질 저하를 보인다. 본 논문에서는 실제 서비스 상황에서 발생하는 EVRC 보코더의 음질 저하 현상 및 그 원인을 분석하였고, 해결책으로 피치 예측과 점진적 복원 기법을 제안하였다. 다양한 전파환경에 대한 음질 평가방법으로 선호도 실험을 수행하였고, 제안한 방법이 효과적임을 확인하였다.
