This paper represents how a muzzle brake affects the dynamic characteristics of the recoil system. A muzzle brake is a device attached to the muzzle for the express purpose of diverting the propellant gas stream from its original path, thereby creating a foreward thrust on the recoiling gun which is in opposition to its rearward motion. In order to obtain the full advantage of a muzzle brake, it is necessary that the recoil system of a gun be designed for the purpose.

The purpose of this study is to estimate teachers' knowledge of mathematics via the concept of function. For the purpose, a survey was done to measure their knowledge of mathematics. The result obtained from the survey was as follows With respect to the knowledge on concept of friction, they understood the function as ordered pairs and graph rather than as relation and expression. This study reached the following conclusions from the result : They have the more static cognition than the dynamic one on the concept of unction.

The generalized Bathe method, proposed by Webb and Fox, which is a method of calculation of dose correction factor for the purpose of heterogeneous tissue, is complex even for a few kind of tissues. The method was modified for the purpose of getting a simple method that divide the multilayer of heterogeneous tissues into some groups of adjacent-tissue pairs. This new method could reduce the number of exponential terms and the time for calculating the dose correction factors by manual and computer calculation.

A study was made of the puff-by-puff delivery of menthol and tar for several commercial brands. The purpose of this study is for the brands constantly to maintain fresh aroma of menthol till the last puff in smoking. The results from this study could be used for development and evaluation of a mentholated cigarette. Prior to the purpose, a straightforward method from extraction through quantitative analysis of 9-menthol contained in cigarettes has been developed.

This paper presents a general purpose data acquisition system based on the microprocessor system with M 6800. instrument and lograrithmic amplifiers and A/D converters are used to implement a signal conditioner for a various kinds of signals. The proposed system has a function such that the processor may select the one of the input signals as will and also it is proved that the system may control the control signal and digital converted signal through I/O port of PIA. Practical measurement by the proposed system shows in good results.
