  • This study investigated whether there were statistical differences in the three categories of cosmetics brand preference- brand preference, gift brand preference, and preference for purchasing expensive cosmetics by the consumers' residence. For the data analysis, the types of cosmetics include basic and color, the cosmetics brands include domestic and imported cosmetics. The consumers' residence include metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas. The study collected the data from 477 surveys from adult women ranging from the age groups of 20s to 50s and above in 2011. Using SPSS Version 18.0 the data was analyzed by Frequency analysis, t-test. The study results were as follow: There were significant differences in the three patterns of cosmetics brand preference depending on the consumers' residence. The three patterns of preferences were in the similar trends. The results revealed while the non-metropolitan residents showed a higher level for the domestic brands, a lower level in the three categories of preferences for imported brands compared to their metropolitan counterparts in both types of basic and color. In contrast, compared to the non-metropolitan counterparts, the metropolitan residents showed a lower level of preferences in all of the three categories of cosmetics brand preference for domestic in both types of basic and color.

  • The author tried to verify the mediating effect of the variable, perceived behavioral control, in the relationship between the independent variables(cosmetics-related variables, consumer's preference, advice & inducement), and the dependent variable(purchasing behavior), through AMOS structural equation modeling. As a result of analyzing the mediating effect in the impact relationship between latent variables, it was found that PBC(perceived behavior control) plays a mediating role in the impact relationship between CQ(cosmetics quality) and PB(purchasing behavior). Author found that the higher the quality of cosmetics and the greater the perceived behavior control in domestic cosmetics purchasing behavior, the more likely it will lead to purchasing behavior. In this context, while efforts are being made to improve cosmetic quality, measures to increase perceived behavior control, which can be said to be autonomy in purchasing behavior, should be sought.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to analyze and investigate why and how these 4 factors (the images of country of origin, imported luxury brand, objective products' characteristics and Projective consumer's peculiarity) impact product preferences & purchasing intention of consumers who plan to buy "Imported Luxury Branded goods". For this study the research directions are: 1. To find each impact of Country of Origin and Brand image which influence "the preference of imported luxury brand items". 2. To analyze the difference of "the effects of Country or Origin" which impacts product preference when consumers buy imported luxury branded goods, which have different purchasing risks. 3. To verify the difference of products' characteristics that have different purchasing risks through comparing the image of country of origin and brand. 4. To analyze and compare "the purchasing behavior of Korean consumers" for achieving research universality. In order to verify that those 4 factors (the images of country of origin, imported luxury brand, objective products' characteristics and prospective consumer's peculiarity) impact on product preferences & purchasing intention of consumers, the linear structural equation model was developed. According to this research model, 9 hypotheses were designed.

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate actual use, design preference, and purchasing behaviors of bedding among married women in their 30s to 60s, and to determine the differences by age groups on these variables. The subjects were 623 married women and the research method was survey. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, cross tab analysis, multiple response analysis, ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple range test, using SPSS program. The results were as follows. First, on the actual use of bedding, the possession quantity of the bed cover and mattress was 2~4 while bedclothes and pillow was 7~8. The period of use of bedding was about 2~4 years and the frequency of washing was about 2~3 times a month. Second, married women generally preferred white and pastel tones, floral patterns, cotton fabrics, and a clean and comfortable image on bedding designs. Third, on the purchasing behaviors of bedding, married women considered functional damage and health & sanitary aspects as important purchase purposes. The most important selection criterion was fabric. Price, tactility, functionality, and manageability were also important criteria. Married women generally used the internet and store displays as important information sources, and considered bedding specialty stores as important purchase places. They generally spent about 200,000~300,000 won a year to purchase bedding. Fourth, the actual use, design preference, and purchasing behaviors of bedding showed many differences by age group. Therefore, it is needed to establish product development and marketing strategy of bedding, considering customers'age variable.

The respondents were 343 Chinese women living in Henan. The collected data was analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Duncan's multiple range of verification. The key results of this study are herein summarized. The brands examined, listed in order of preference, are Ochirly, Only, Zara, Uniqlo, La Chapelle, H&M, Peace bird, Vero Moda, JNBY, and The Basic House. The five most preferred brands were then selected and further analyzed. • In this study, differences of texture image and preference for men's suit fabrics according to mechanical properties, hand and fabric information were investigated. 55 subjects evaluated texture image and preference of 12 kinds of wool blended fabrics. For statistical analysis, t-test and pearson correlation coefficients were used. The results were as follows: Most of mechanical properties effected on texture images, and bending property and shearing property were effected on tactile preference and purchasing preference. For hand, objective hand values showed correlations with subjective texture images and preferences, but THV had almost no correlations. In sensory images according to presence of fabric information, fabrics were evaluated thinner, lighter, more pliable and smooth by cognition of wool blending ratio. For sensibility images, fabrics were evaluated more refined, intellectual, dignified and less practicable after recognize of wool blending ratio. In preferences, tactile preference was increased and purchasing preference was decreased after recognize fabric information. Therefore, significant differences of texture image and preference were observed according to presence of fabric information.

  • The purpose of this study was to obtain and offer useful information on innerwear industry through an analysis of consumer purchasing behavior and preference of their between the 20's and 60's. From 310 questionnaires that were distributed, 308 with usable data were coded for further statistical analysis including descriptive statistics(frequency and chi-square test), by using SPSSWIN 10.0. The results were as follows.: It was found that the innerwear for men in their 20's should be developed in an attempt to place greater emphasis on improving functions as an outwear such as impact absorption and protection articulation required for outdoor activities such 3s mountain climbing and in-line skating, rather than the function of thermal insulation. In addition, the development of new materials that improves the hygroscopicity and rapid dryness is needed. For men in their 30's and 40's, the results suggest that innerwear should be designed as thinly as possible without compromising the silhouette of the outwear. For those in their 50's and 60's, it is recommended to intensify the aspects of health and hygiene of the innerwear, while maintaining the function of thermal insulation. Given that a large number of women purchase men's innerwear for their partners, it is important to strengthen the designs and marketing strategy specifically tailored to women's purchasing power.
