In this work, simultaneous measur of space charge and conduction current was c out in LDPE with air gap by Pulsed-Electro-Aco Method. Also, effect of long time charging at con electric field on the formation of space charge conduction was investigated. From the experim results. we knew that the homo space charge formed near the dielectric surfaces and moving the bulk of dielectric as the electric field elevated. This was related with the deep traps b carriers and de trapping by Poole-field lowering conduction current was coincident with the Pool emission. From the long time charging experimen obtained the results that the negative space was moving into the dielectric bulk as the cha continued and the positive space charge accumulated at upper surface of LDPE.

The electrically assisted brazing of a ferritic stainless steel with nickel-based filler metal is experimentally investigated. During electrically assisted brazing of a lap joint, the temperature of the joint is first rapidly increased to a brazing temperature and held nearly constant for a specific period using a pulsed electric current. Microstructural analysis results strongly suggest that the electric current during electrically assisted brazing enhances diffusion between the filler metal and the ferritic stainless steel, thus inducing significantly thicker diffusion zones compared with induction brazing. The mechanical test results show that the strength of the electrically assisted brazing joint is comparable to or even superior to those of the joint fabricated by induction brazing, while the process time of the electrically assisted brazing is significantly shorter than that of induction brazing.
The pulsed electro-acoustic method was used as a nondestructive measurement technique of spare charge distribution in dielectric materials. In our work presented here, we measured simultaneously the space charge distribution and conduction current in the low-density polyethylene samples with elevated temperatures up to $80^{\circ}C$ and electric field up to 20kV/mm. In the temperature less than $50^{\circ}C$, homocharges are mainly accumulated close to the electrodes under DC bias and after grounding. At the temperature exeeds $50^{\circ}C$, heterocharges are accumulated near the opposite electrode under DC bias. However after grounding the upper electrode, this charges immediately disappeared. The conduction current in LDPE at $20^{\circ}C$ and $30^{\circ}C$ was reduced slowly with increasing interval of applied voltage. But as temperature increased, the conduction current tended to increase slowly with the time and the degree of increase is enlarged.
A low energy large aperture(LELA) pulsed electron beam generator of a cold cathode type has been developed for environmental applications, for example, waste water cleaning, flue gas cleaning, and pasteurization etc. The operational principle is based on the emission of secondary electrons from cold cathode when ions in the plasma hit the cathode, which are accelerated toward exit window by the gradient of an electric potential. We have fabricated the LELA electron beam generator with the peak energy of 200keV and beam diameter of 200mm and obtained the large aperture electron beam in air. The electron beam current density has been investigated as a function of glow discharge current, accelerating voltage and radial distribution in front of the exit window foil. The plasma density and electron temperature have been measured in order to confirm the relation with the electron beam current density. We are going to upgrade the LELA electron beam generator in the electron energy, electron beam current and stability of operation for various applications.

Both Cu and Cu-oxide nanopowders have great potential as conductive paste, solid lubricant, effective catalysts and super conducting materials because of their unique properties compared with those of commercial micro-sized ones. In this study, Cu and Cu-oxide nanopowders were prepared by Pulsed Wire Evaporation (PWE) method which has been very useful for producing nanometer-sized metal, alloy and ceramic powders. In this process, the metal wire is explosively converted into ultrafine particles under high electric pulse current (between $10^4$ and $10^{ 6}$$A/mm^2$) within a micro second time. To prevent full oxidations of Cu powder, the surface of powder has been slightly passivated with thin CuO layer. X-ray diffraction analysis has shown that pure Cu nanopowders were obtained at $N_2$ atmosphere. As the oxygen partial pressure increased in $N_2$ atmosphere, the gradual phase transformation occurred from Cu to $Cu_2$O and finally CuO nanopowders. The spherical Cu nanopowders had a uniform size distribution of about 100nm in diameter. The Cu-oxide nanopowders were less than 70nm with sphere-like shape and their mean particle size was 54nm. Smaller size of Cu-oxide nanopowders compared with that of the Cu nanopowders results from the secondary explosion of Cu nanopowders at oxygen atmosphere. Thin passivated oxygen layer on the Cu surface has been proved by XPS and HRPD.
ZnO Varistor is an electronic ceramic device for controlling the surge voltage from low level to high. In this study, the puncture mechanism occurring in ZnO varistor is investigated, and the simulation for restraining the puncture by formulating the relation between the applied voltage and the increase of the inside temperature of grain is applied. In order to simulate the cause of the current localization which is the primary factor causing the puncture, the localization phenomenon and the temperature distribution induced by the localized current, the Voronoi network is applied, which can realize the structure of the practical varistor better than the established simple network. Using the current through each grain and the voltage applied to the grain boundary obtained from that simulation, the Joule heating energy is calculated and the phenomenon that the puncture occurs can be analyzed quantitatively by simulating the electric and thermal characteristics according to the externally applied pulsed voltage.

Recently, an electric vehicle (EV) has been become a huge issue in the automotive industry. The EV has many electrical units: electric motors, batteries, converters, etc. The DC distribution power system (DPS) is essential for the EV. The DC DPS offers many advantages. However, multiple loads in the DC DPS may affect the severe instability on the DC bus voltage. Therefore, a voltage bus conditioner (VBC) may use the DC DPS. The VBC is used to mitigate the voltage transient on the bus. Thus, a suitable control technique should be selected for the VBC. In this research, Current controller with fixed switching frequency is designed and applied for the VBC. The DC DPS consist of both a resistor load and a boost converter load. The load variations cause the instability of the DC DPS. This instability is mitigated by the VBC. The simulation results by Matlab simulink and experimental results are presented for validating the proposed VBC and designed control technique.

This paper focuses on the control of bidirectional power flow in the electric shipboard power systems, especially in the Medium-Voltage Direct Current (MVDC) shipboard power system. Bidirectional power control between the main MVDC bus and the local zones can improve the energy efficiency and control flexibility of electric ship systems. However, since the MVDC system contains various nonlinear loads such as pulsed power load and radar in various subsystems, the voltage of the MVDC and the local zones varies significantly. This voltage variation affects the control performance of the bidirectional DC-DC converters as exogenous disturbances. To improve the control performance regardless of uncertainties and disturbances, this paper proposes a novel controller design method of the bidirectional DC-DC converters using $L_1$ control theory and intelligent optimization algorithm. The performance of the proposed method is verified via large-scale real-time digital simulation of a notional shipboard MVDC power system.

The phase transition between amorphous and crystalline states in chalcogenide semiconductor films can controlled by electric pulses or pulsed laser beam; hence some chalcogenide semoconductor films can be applied to electrically write/erase nonvolatile memory devices, where the low conductive amorphous state and the high conductive crystalline stale are assigned to binary states. AST(AsSbTe) used to phase change material by applying electical pulses. Thickness of AST chalcogenide thin film have about 100nm. Electrodes are made of ITO and Al. $T_c$(Crystallization temperature) of AST system is lower than that of the GST(GeSbTe) system, so that the current pulse width of crystallization process can be decreased.
