Objectives : The aim of this study is to understand neuroprotection therapy of glaucoma with both Korean and western medicine.Methods :　 We searched Pubmed on the title "glaucoma" and "neuroprotection" and also searched CNKI(China National Knowledge Infrastructure) and OASIS(Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System) on the title "glaucoma".Results : The results are as follows. 1. In western medicine, excitotoxicity inhibition, immunomodulation, oxidative stress suppression, supplement of NTFs and stem cell therapy are studied with neuroprotection therapy of glaucoma. 2. Treatment of glaucoma in TCM and Korean medicine are associated with liver(肝) and kidney(腎).Conclusions : Korean medical approaches on neuroprotection therapy of glaucoma can be significant, and further studies are needed to research.

Objective : We investigated relationship between tinnitus and temporomandibular disorder(TMD) and tried to find approach possibility in oriental medicine. Method : We searched Pubmed, Scopus, The Cocharane library and additional sources for published and unpublished trials. Search word was "Tinnitus and TMD" Result : We investigated 18 studies. We divided these studies into three parts, epidemiological studies, mechanical studies and treatment studies. In many epidemiological studies. there was significant relationship between tinnitus and TMD. The mechanism was not clear but in recently several studies proposed neurological approach. TMD treatment showed significant improvement in tinnitus accompanied by TMD. Conclusion : In tinnitus accompanied by TMD, TMD treatment can be available to resolve or reduce tinnitus. Especially in oriental medicine acupuncture can be applied to treat this.

Objective: To summarize and evaluate various urinary markers for early detection, diagnosis and follow-up of human bladder cancer. Methods: A MEDLINE and PUBMED search of the latest literature on urinary markers for bladder cancer was performed. We reviewed these published reports and made a critical analysis. Results: Most urinary markers tend to be less specific than cytology, yielding more false-positive results, but demonstrating an advantage in terms of sensitivity, especially for detecting low grade, superficial tumors. Some tumor markers appear to be good candidates for early detection, diagnosis, and follow-up of human bladder cancer. Conclusion: A number of urinary markers are currently available that appear to be a applicable for clinical detection, diagnosis, and follow-up of bladder cancer. However, further studies are required to determine their accuracy and widespread applicability.

Objectives : Xiaochaihutang(小柴胡湯) is a famous herbal prescription in the Traditional Korean Medicine, and its components include Bupleuri Radix(柴胡), Scutellariae Radix(黃芩), Ginseng Radix(人蔘), Pinelliae Tuber(半夏), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma(甘草), Zingiberis Rhizoma Crudus(生薑), Zizyphi Fructus(大棗). Methods : In this study, we reviewed the effects of xiaochaihutang by searching Pubmed. And we connected with Korean Standard Classification of Diseases (KCD) and the effects of xiaochaihutang. Results and Conclusion : The effects of xiaochaihutang was related with B18, C22, C34, C56, J30, J45, K70, K74, K76, F32, F33, F34, F41 as indicated by KCD. In clinics, the medical doctors almost use the KCD code for insurance. This review give us the scientific clue of Xiaochaihutang's effect in KCS system.

Background: The consequences of disordered breathing patterns are not only distressing to the patient but also expensive to our health care systems if they are not diagnosed and treated. So we performed this study to investigate clinical significants trough gigong, yoga and hyperventilation in oriental medicine and westen medicine Objective: To review the relationship of electrogastrography with autonomic nervous system and to study its clinical application. Method: We investigate the research results through internet search engine, Pubmed. Conclusion: Electrogastrography is a reliable, non-invasive method for recording gastric myoelectrical activity and is used for objectification of diagnosis related to gastric peristalsis. Gastric myoelectrical activity seem to involve autonomic nervous system, especially parasympathetic nervous system. The study should be continuing about relationship between electrogastrography and autonomic nervous system.

Background and Objectives: Nocturnal enuresis is a common problem that can be troubling for children and their families. Treatment options include nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic measures. Various nonpharmacologic treatments have been shown to have a positive effect on bed-wetting in small studies but have not been extensively evaluated (generally weak strength of evidence). This study was undertaken to determine if there is any evidence for the clinical efficacy of acupuncture for treatment of nocturnal enuresis. Methods : Author conducted a computerized literature search in following database: Medline(via Pubmed), NDSL. There were no restrictions on the language of publication. The data were extracted in a standardized, predefined manner and assessed critically. Results : 4 article was selected. Acupuncture is composed of general acupuncture, electro, laser. Acupuncture treatment of the children had significantly more dry night than before treatment Conclusion : Alternative, nonpharmacological approach using acupuncture works in children with monosymptomatic nocturnal enuresis.

Objectives The study was conducted to evaluate the recent treatment and study trends of tic disorder by reviewing domestic and international randomized controlled studies. Methods The acupuncture treatment on tic disorder randomized control study articles (published by June 10th, 2016) were selected from seven academic literature archives; NDSL, OASIS, KTKP, Pubmed, J-STAGE, CNKI, and CINAHL. Results Ten articles were identified after searching. These studies were analyzed by year, diagnostic criteria, intervention, evaluation criteria, treatment points, treatment effect, treatment duration, and 'Risk of Bias' assessment. Conclusions According to the articles, acupuncture was effective in treating tic disorder. However, additional well-designed randomized controlled studies will be required to justify the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment on tic disorder.

본 논문에서는 텍스트 형태로 구성된 특정 생물에 대한 문헌 데이터에서 해당 생물의 주요 단백질간의 이진(binary) 관계를 추출하여 이들을 특징별로 계층적으로 군집화 함으로써 특정 현상을 나타내는 단백질간의 주요 관계를 추출하는 방법을 제시한다. 텍스트 데이터에서 단백질간의 이진관계는 기본적인 데이터마이닝 기법을 사용하여 연관규칙(association rule)의 형태로 추출하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 실험을 위해 PUBMED에서 추출한 Yeast의 주요 단백질간의 관계를 포함하고 있는 논문 데이터인 MEDLINE Abstract와 몇몇 공개 데이터베이스를 사용하였다. 실험 결과 SH3와 같이 기존에 알려진 단백질간의 단일 관계를 추출하는 것 이외에 이러한 관계들을 이용하여 클러스터링을 행한 결과 공통 현상에 작용하는 주요 단백질간의 관계들이 서로 군집화 됨을 확인 할 수 있었다. 또한 단순 이진관계가 아닌 클러스터링을 이용한 보다 상위 단계에서 단순 규칙들 간의 관계를 살펴봄으로써 단백질간의 이진관계를 추출하기 위한 데이터로 사용한 문헌 데이터에 나타나 있지 않은 1차 이상의 관계를 고찰 해 볼 수 있었다. 논문에서는 규칙 추출의 전체 과정과 함께 사용된 추출 시스템의 각 부와 데이터에 대한 설명을 다룬다.

Although very rare, a few cases of intradural extramedullary (IDEM) spinal tumor migration have been reported since Tomimatsu first reported a mobile schwannoma of the cervical cord in 1974. Schwan noma is a neurogenic tumor which originates from nerve sheath that it is relatively well-marginated tumor with little attachment or adhesion to surrounding tissue. Mobility of tumor in spinal canal sometimes can result in negative exploration at the expected area. We found three interesting cases in which different tumor locations observed in repeated magnetic resonance image (MRI) findings. All tumors were intradural and extramedullary schwannoma. We reviewed the literature about moving tumor in the spine through PUBMED search.

Objects : The aim of this study is to introduce latest research trend of cholinergic urticaria and consider results in view of Korean medicine.Methods : We investigate research papers, Chinese and Korean medicinal papers about Cholinergic Urticaria through Pubmed, CNKI(China National Knowledge Infrastructure) and OASIS(Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System).Results : The pathogenesis of cholinergic urticaria is supposed to correlate with sweating, considering that many cholinergic urticaria patients are complicated with anhidrosis or hypohidrosis and have sweat hypersensitivity. And on the basis of those outcomes, diverse therapies on cholinergic urticaria are conducted recently.Conclusion : Korean medicinal approaches and treatment on cholinergic urticaria can be significant, accounting that sweating plays a important role in pathogenesis of cholinergic urticaria.
