The professional alliance between disciplines of architecture and furniture design in the interwar years as displayed in the prominent architectural exhibitions of the era is interesting in the context of professionalization of American architecture. The way furniture design gradually became part of the architectural shows not only reflected but provided the practical field in which the architectural institution sought, under the new social order since the mid 1910s, a new professional cast-departing from the former milieu in the realm of high-art by the Beaux-Arts Movement. Exhibitions held by the Architectural League of New York in the 1920s revealed that the early impetus for reformation toward efficiency had been subsumed by the system of Beaux-Arts. By contrast, "The Architect and the Industrial Arts" show of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in which the most prominent architects of the era exercised their professional expertise in the design of "Moderne Style" interior furnishings, clearly shows how architects, in the milieu of expanding commercial market, sought to align their profession as industrial designers.

The rapid advances in genetic knowledge and technology raise various, sometimes unprecedented, ethical dilemmas in the scientific community as well as the public realm. To deal with these dilemmas, the international community has prepared and issued ethical standards in various formats. In this review, seven international standards regarding genetics and genomics will be briefly introduced in chronological order. Critical reflections on them will not be provided in this review, and naturally, they have their own problems and shortcomings. However, a common set of the principles expressed in them will be highlighted here, because they are still relevant, and many of them will be more relevant in the future. Some of the interesting contents will be selected and described. After that, the morality of one recent event related to whole-genome sequencing and person-identifiable genetic data will be explored based on those international standards.

This paper suggests a genealogy of romance in Chang-rae Lee's Native Speaker, A Gesture Life, and The Surrendered. A flexible textual performance and literary strategy spanning issues of beauty and love, romance in Lee registers the writer's distinctive diasporic negotiation with sites of departure and arrival, in particular with traumatic histories of the m/other country. Native Speaker resolves the crisis of public immigrant love within the compromise in the domestic melodrama. As Lee turns to the scenes of historical trauma in the twentieth century transpacific, romance becomes a key strategy through which his aestheticized framing and deframing of comfort woman is performed and the Korean War finds odd comfort in the aesthetic energy of perverse care in Italy. Through the dehistoricizing movement outside of the historical into the realm of myth and nostalgia, Lee's diasporic romance breaks away from mandates of representation and works within the excess of mistranslation.

The Office of Korean National Railroads announced a design competition for Kwangyang Station and sought design proposals in October of 2002. The authors collaborated on a landscape design for Kwangyang Station and earned first prize in the competition. The Office decided to construct outdoor public spaces of Kwangyang Station for railroad users, visitors and staff, and local residents. The landscape design covers the following: site inventory and analysis; integration of design program and site analysis; evaluation of design concept; selecting a winning design alternative; schematic design including circulation form and spatial form; and design development including subarea design. In the design process, the authors focused on the integration and interpretation of site conditions as related to the Kwangyang Station building. They also collectively analyzed and considered the physical development of the outdoor spaces of Kwangyang Station. The following are some of the major areas in the design of the outdoor spaces of Kwangyang Station: 1) a plaza for waiting, 2) an entry area for passengers, 3) a train cafeteria, 4) a cultural plaza, 5) an image wall, and 6) a symbolic pond. The plaza for waiting is created as a place for users to wait and rest. The entry area for passengers provides an area for pedestrians approaching, passing and strolling. The train cafeteria features trains, lawns, grasses and trees. The cultural plaza is a main area representing the regional characteristics of Kwangyang. This plaza also provides an area for various public events. The image wall is meant to be an exhibition space for displaying the advancements of Korean National Railroads in sculptural image forms. The symbolic pond consists of an area with symbolic water features and several sculptures with artistic value. In the authors' design, the outdoor spaces of Kwangyang station are created as a new type of public realm with function, regional quality, original identity, cultural context, symbolic meaning and images, and beauty. The designed spaces would be one of the most representative places of interest and attraction in Kwangyang.

본 연구는 18년간의 보수당 정권 하에서 영국의 사회주택정책이 겪은 변화의 주요 내용과 결과를 고찰함으로써 그 성격을 파악하고 무리 나라에 유용한 정책적 합의를 획득하려는 목적을 갖는다. 연구자는 연구를 위하여 1년 동안 영국에 머물면서 주제와 관련된 1,2차 자료들은 물론, 현지 학자들의 의견에 직접 접할 기회도 활용하였다. 사회주택정책의 변화는 70년대 경제 위기 이후의 영국 복지국가 재편작업의 일환으로 추진되었다. 보수당 정부는 시영주택의 대규모 매각 등 민영화와 시장화 정책을 정열적으로 추진하였으며, 공공지출의 삭감과 보조금 제도의 개혁 등을 통하여 이를 뒷받침하였다. 정책변화의 결과 주거유형의 분포와 지방정부의 역할 등에서 가시적인 변화가 나타났으며, 사회정책적으로는 주택부족, 공공부문의 잔여화 현상, 주거비 부담의 증대, 보조금 배분의 역진성, 의존의 증가 둥 부정적 현상이 두드러졌고, 목적했던 공공지출의 삭감도 달성하지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 결국 복지국가 위기에 대한 신자유주의적 대응은 국가역할의 철폐가 아닌 재 정향으로 나타났으며, 이에 따를 복지국가의 변화된 모습 둥은 우리나라 사회주택정책의 정립과 복지국가 모델의 형성을 위해 시사하는 바가 크다.

조직의 업무와 관련되어 주고받는 이메일은 기록화하고 보존해야하는 조직의 자산이다. 그러나 현재 대부분의 공공기관에서 이메일기록에 관한 정책이나 지침이 마련되어 있지 않고, 이메일관리의 당위성에 대한 인식조차 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 이메일기록 관리의 당위성을 설명하고 우리나라 공공기관에서 효과적인 이메일기록 관리 방안을 기록관리학적 측면에서 모색하는 데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이메일기록의 특성을 파악하기 위한 문헌연구와 함께 기록관리 선진국의 이메일기록관리 정책 및 지침을 분석하였다. 이러한 지침들은 형태가 구성요소와 다르기 때문에 공통적인 구성요소를 추출하여 주요 범주화하여 나누고, 세부사항을 비교해 볼 수 있도록 해체하여 분석하였다. 분석으로 도출된 이메일 관리 필수 요소를 중심으로 공공기관에서 실무 지침으로 삼을 수 있는 이메일기록 관리 방안을 모색하였다. 그리고 전자정부 시대에 적합한 이메일기록 관리 모형을 제시하고자 하였다.

In Asiacrypt 2003, Al-Riyami and Paterson proposed the notion of certificateless cryptography, a technique to remove key escrow from traditional identity-based cryptography as well as circumvent the certificate management problem of traditional public key cryptography. Subsequently much research has been done in the realm of certificateless encryption and signature schemes, but little to no work has been done for the identification primitive until 2013 when Chin et al. rigorously defined certificateless identification and proposed a concrete scheme. However Chin et al.'s scheme was proven in the random oracle model and Canetti et al. has shown that certain schemes provable secure in the random oracle model can be insecure when random oracles are replaced with actual hash functions. Therefore while having a proof in the random oracle model is better than having no proof at all, a scheme to be proven in the standard model would provide stronger security guarantees. In this paper, we propose the first certificateless identification scheme that is both efficient and show our proof of security in the standard model, that is without having to assume random oracles exist.

This research worked on the cooperative case by Marc Jacobs, who was involved in innovative collaboration in the field of fashion, and the analysis on imbedded values. With assessment of it, this paper aims at providing the theoretical ground on prevalence of fashion collaboration for creative innovation and presenting the basic material in establishing the design and marketing in the fashion industry. In methodology, the review was followed up about literature regarding Marc Jacobs and collaboration and his cases in 2001 through 2012. Results showed that his collaboration cases could be divided into those with modern artist, those with fashion brand or designer, those with other field brand than fashion, and those with the public star. They were processed into such a form as development of new product and collection, shop display, and exhibition event. The value could be drawn from this case examination of Marc Jacobs' fashion collaboration, which includes the design innovation through reinterpretation of tradition, innovation of maximized brand value, and transboundary innovation toward a vast extension of realm. Namely, the collaboration of Marc Jacobs would be the driving force for design innovation and the creative process for both parties concerned through endless cooperation and would generate the innovative value for fashion field.

Language and letter are represented by a combination of its signifier and signified. All symblos are commonly calling direct attention to people who are living in the physical world. However, in cyberspace, the image takes control once inhabited by the language. Cyberspace with anonymity and deoent physical nature has something with physical laws. In this space the statue transcends the imaginary realm. Ideology gives a greater connotation by giving a series of regulation to images floating in cyberspace. Even if various media have the same image, the meaning of the image changes depending on which ideology is used. The impact of this on the public is great. In this study, I discuss the ideology in cyberspace where is supposedly wide open to who visits and spreads all the thoughts without suppression and the human body. The main ideas would be who owns the ideology and what does it want to control and how the people would react to the ideology. This paper would eventually head the prototype that visualizes above ideas. Though the interactive media it will also show the subject in the real world is accept the images floating in the cyberspace without any doubts.

The primary purpose of this study was to analyze assessment factors by identifying and prioritizing live fire shooting area requirements using the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) technique. Derived assessment factors for candidate sites were divided into six categories. Of these, four categories (base-to-range distance, weapon danger area, range terrain, and size) were in the realm of physical geography while the remaining two (land use and proximity to habitation) fell under the general heading of human geography. A case study was also conducted to select several alternative firing ranges using derived factors. The optimal location was analyzed by evaluating the candidate site using each assessment factor. As a result, it was found that assessment factors applying to GIS (Geographic Information System) were able to effectively analyze a suitable location for relocation of the focal training facility, taking into consideration public-safety issues, training requirements, and residents' past and likely future complaints. Through this process, it can prevent the waste of time and effort in determining an optimal location for a live fire shooing range.
