The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether to take a medicine based on a measuring data using textile proximity sensor. We developed a proximity sensor of ring type using conductive textile, and acquired a data in accordance with the quantity of each pills. To evaluate our approach, we designed an experimental protocol that is counting pills subtracting the one which contains range of 0 T(Tablet, 4,100mg) from 20 T. And, The experiments were performed a nine times in the same way. In order to remove a noise and smoothen data, data preprocessing were performed using resampling method and moving average filter which has ten points. Then, we calculated a linear trend line equation, and analyzed a correlation between pill quantity and trend line equation. As a results, correlation coefficient was shown at 0.833 through using a Spearman's correlation method and we could be determined that data was continuos decreases when take a medicine.

The purpose of this paper is to obtain new complexity results for a second-order cone optimization (SOCO) problem. We define a proximity function for the SOCO by a kernel function. Furthermore we formulate an algorithm for a large-update primal-dual interior-point method (IPM) for the SOCO by using the proximity function and give its complexity analysis, and then we show that the new worst-case iteration bound for the IPM is $O(q\sqrt{N}(logN)^{\frac{q+1}{q}}log{\frac{N}{\epsilon})$, where $q{\geqq}1$.

As the minimum feature size for making ULSI approaches the wavelength of light source in optical lithography, the aerial image is so hardly distorted because of the optical proximity effect that the accurate mask image reconstruction on wafer surface is almost impossible. We applied the Optical Proximity Correction(OPC) on isolated patterns assuming Attenuated Phase Shift Mask(APSM) as well as binary mask, to correct the widening of isolated patterns. In this study, we found that applying OPC to APSM shows much better improvement not only in enhancing the resolution and fidelity of t도 images but also in enhancing the process margin than applying OPC to the binary mask. Also, we propose the OPC method of APSM for isolated patterns, the size of which is less than the wavelength of the ArF excimer laser. Finally, we predicted the resolution limit of optical lithography through the aerial image simulation.

We report on the improvement of critical dimension (CD) linearity on a photomask by applying the concept of process proximity correction to a laser lithographic process used for the fabrication of photomasks. Rule-based laser process proximity correction (LPC) was performed using an automated optical proximity correction tool and we obtained dramatic improvement of CD linearity on a photomask. A study on model-based LPC was executed using a two-Gaussian kernel function and we extracted model parameters for the laser lithographic process by fitting the model-predicted CD linearity data with measured ones. Model-predicted bias values of isolated space (I/S), arrayed contact (A/C) and isolated contact (I/C) were in good agreement with those obtained by the nonlinear curve-fitting method used for the rule-based LPC.
In this study, we investigated mask errors, photo errors with attenuated phase shift mask and off-axis illumination, and etch errors in dry etch conditions. We propose that total process proximity correction (TPPC), a concept merging every process step error correction, is essential in a lithography process when minimum critical dimension (CD) is smaller than the wavelength of radiation. A correction rule table was experimentally obtained applying TPPC concept. Process capability of controlling gate CD in DRAM fabrication should be improved by this method.

In wireless sensor networks, an estimation method is proposed for distances between nodes within two hops. The method uses only proximity information of nodes without physiccal distance measurements. It drastically improves the performance of localization algorithms based on Proximity information. In addition, it is the first method that estimates distances between nodes exactly in two hops. The distances are estimated from the number of common neighbors under an assumption that the number of common neighbors is proportional to the intersection of two unit disks centered at the two nodes. Simulation analysis shows that the estimation error is roughly from 10 to 20 percent of real distances. Meanwhile, the number of messages required by a distributed algorithm realizing this method is only two times the number of nodes.
Objective: This study examined correlates of residential proximity between parents and non-coresident married children. A majority of existing studies on intergenerational living arrangement has focused on exploring factors that are associated with intergenerational coresidence only, despite an increasing number of parents and children who do not live together but close by. Because residential proximity facilitates frequent contacts and support exchanges between the two generations, it is important to understand its correlates. Method: The data were drawn from first wave of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing (KLoSA, 2006), a nationally representative sample of adults 45 years or older and their spouses. The analytic sample consisted of 3,950 parents with 10,946 non-coresident married children. Both regression with robust standard errors and sibling fixed effects regression models were estimated using the reg and xtreg procedures in STATA. Results: Younger, less depressed, and more physically impaired parents lived closer to at least one of their married children (within a 30-minute distance by public transportation). Fathers (compared to mothers), parents living in cities (compared to those living in rural areas), parents with at least one co-resident child or fewer numbers of married children tended to have at least one married child living nearby. With regard to child characteristics, married children who were less educated, homeowners, and had more children lived closer to their parents. Also, sons (compared to daughters) lived in closer distance to their parents. Conclusion: Overall, findings suggest that intergenerational residential proximity may primarily be motivated by the childcare needs of married children or parents' needs for assistance with functional impairment. Also, the traditional patrilineal norms of intergenerational support may still be a critical factor in residential decisions as observed in the difference between married sons and daughters in proximity to their parents.

In this paper, we proposed a non-contact respiration measurement system with ultrasonic proximity sensor. Ultrasonic proximity sensor approach of respiration measurement which respiration signatures and rates can be derived in real-time for long-term monitoring is presented. 240 kHz ultrasonic sensor has been applied for the proposed measurement system. The time of flight of sound wave between the transmitted signal and received signal have been used for a respiration measurement from abdominal area. Respiration rates measured with the ultrasonic proximity sensor were compared with those measured with standard techniques on 5 human subjects. Accurate measurement of respiration rate is shown from the 50 cm measurement distance. The data from the method comparison study is used to confirm the performance of the proposed measurement system. The current version of respiratory rate detection system using ultrasonic can successfully measure respiration rate. The proposed measurement method could be used for monitoring unconscious persons from a relatively close range, avoiding the need to apply electrodes or other sensors in the correct position and to wire the subject to the monitor. Monitoring respiration using ultrasonic sensor offers a promising possibility of non-contact measurement of respiration rates. Especially, this technology offers a potentially inexpensive implementation that could extend applications to consumer home-healthcare and mobile-healthcare products. Further advances in the sensor design, system design and signal processing can increase the range of the measurement and quality of the rate-finding for broadening the potential application areas of this technology.

In this paper, an iterative boundary element method (IBEM) was proposed to solve for a wing-in-ground (WIG) effect. IBEM is a fast and accurate method used in many different fields of engineering and in this work; it is applied to a fluid flow problem assessing a wing in ground proximity. The theory and the developed code are validated first with other methods and the obtained results with the proposed method are found to be encouraging. Then, time consumptions of the direct and iterative methods were contrasted to evaluate the efficiency of IBEM. It is found out that IBEM dominates direct BEM in terms of time consumption in all trials. The iterative method seems very useful for quick assessment of a wing in ground proximity condition. After all, a NACA6409 wing section in ground vicinity is solved with IBEM to evaluate the WIG effect.
The pseudo relevance feedback suggests that frequent words at the top documents are related to initial query. However, the main drawback associated with the term frequency method is the fact that it relies on feature independence, and disregards any dependencies that may exist between words in the text. In this paper, we propose query expansion based on word graph using term proximity. It supplements term frequency method. On TREC WT10g test collection, experimental results in MAP(Mean Average Precision) show that the proposed method achieved 6.4% improvement over language model.
