실시간 주문형 비디오 서비스를 수용하는 멀티미디어 셋탑 박스와 서비스 서버간의 서비스 연결의 연속성을 제공하면서 사용자 단말의 추가적인 부담을 줄이기 위해 ATM 액세스 노드 내에 연결성 연동 에이젼트 기능을 구현하였다. 이를 통하여 망 내의 SVC와의 연결성을 사용자 단말에게 제공하는 방안을 제시하고 이를 MPEG-1 VOD 서비스의 연결 설정 및 해제에 적용한다.

In this paper, partially repairable concurrent spare parts requirement determination problem of newly procured equipment systems is considered. “partially repairable” means that a portion of damaged parts can be recover their function and reused after repairs. A mathematical model is derived for making an CSP requirement determination subject to the constraint of satisfying any given operational availability limitation. We assume that the failure of a part follows a Poisson process and the repair time has an exponential distribution. Using the generalized Lagrange multipliers method, the solution procedure is derived.

차세대 이동 멀티미디어 통신망의 IMT-2000에서 음성뿐만 아니라 데이타, 화상, 비디오와 같은 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원하기 위해서는, QoS를 보다 효과적으로 보장할수 있는 방안이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 핸드오프 시에 멀티미디어 서비스의 QoS를 보장하기 위한 방안의 하나로서 이동체 위치 추정에 기반을 둔 채널관리 기법인 FTC+DE를 제안한다. 시뮬레이션 결과에 의하면 제안 방법은 핸드오프 호의 블록킹율을 줄임으로서 멀티미디어 서비스의 QoS를 보다 효과적으로 유지할 수 있음이 확인되었다.

최근 Internet의 가장 보편적이고 저렴한 Backbone Network 기술이다. 이러한 Internet의 전달 능력은 그대로 이용하면서 보안이 우수한 가상 사설망(VPN)을 구축하는 기술에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 MPLS 기반의 터널링을 이용한 VPN망 구축 방안과 광 경로(Lightpath)를 갖는 Optical VPN에서 고려해야할 사항에 대해 제시하였다.

In the microcell- or picocell-based system the frequent movements of the mobile bring about excessive traffics into the networks. A mobile location estimation mechanism can facilitate both efficient resource allocation and better QoS provisioning through handoff optimization. Existing location estimation schemes consider only LOS model and have poor performance in presence of multi-path and shadowing. In this paper we study a novel scheme which can increase estimation accuracy by considering NLOS environment and other multiple decision parameters than the received signal strength.

인터넷의 폭발적인 성장으로 인하여 MAN(Metropolitan Area Network)은 기존 음성 트래픽 전송 중심의 SONET/SDH(Synchronous Optical NETwork/Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) 환경에서 데이터 트래픽을 수용 할 수 있는 MSPP(MultiService Provisioning Platform) 환경으로 변해가고 있다. 이러한 네트워크 환경에서 이종 망간의 스위칭 역할을 수행하는 NG-SDH장비는 각 망간의 OAM을 제공하기 위해 OAM(Operation/Administration/Maintenance)신호에 대한 IWF(InterWorking Function) 기능을 필요로 하게 된다. 본 논문은 이종 망간 OAM 기능 제공을 위한 IWF에 대해 분석, 정의하고 이를 기반으로 NG-SDH 장비 블록 내에서 이종망간 OAM 기능을 제공할 OAM 변환기를 설계하였다.

The wireless communication network is evolving toward the Personal Communication System to provide various multimedia services. In order to accomplish this goal, the effective schemes are required which can dynamically utilize the limited wireless resources based on traffic characteristics of each services. This paper proposes a novel call admission control scheme for the hierarchical macrocell/microcell structured PCS. It is based on the bandwidth reservation procedure performed in the macrocell or neighboring microcell. Its effectiveness is investigated by simulation.
