Rheological Characterization of Hydrogen Peroxide Gel Propellant

  • An experimental investigation on the rheological behavior of gelled hydrogen peroxide at different ambient temperature (283.15, 293.15 and 303.15 K) was carried out in this study. The gel propellant was rheologically characterized using a rheometer, in the shear rate ranges of 1 to $20s^{-1}$, and 1 to $1000s^{-1}$. Hydrogen peroxide gel was found to be thixotropic in nature. The apparent viscosity value with some yield stress (in-case of shear rate 1 to $20s^{-1}$) drastically fell with the shear rate. In the case of the shear rate range of 1 to $20s^{-1}$, the apparent viscosity and yield stress of gel were significantly reduced at higher ambient temperatures. In the case of the shear rate range of 1 to $1000s^{-1}$, no significant effect of varying the ambient temperature on the gel apparent viscosity was observed. The up and down shear rate curves for hydrogen peroxide gel formed a hysteresis loop that showed no significant change with variation in temperature for both the 1 to $20s^{-1}$ and the 1 to $1000s^{-1}$ shear rate ranges. No significant change in the thixotropic index of gel was observed for different ambient temperatures, for both low and high shear rates. The gel in the 1 to $20s^{-1}$ shear rate range did not lead to a complete breakdown of gel structure, in comparison to that in the 1 to $1000s^{-1}$ shear rate range.

감마선 조사가 비트(Beta vulgaris L.)의 물리화학적 특성 및 Betalain 색소 안정성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Gamma Irradiation on Physicochemical Properties of Red Beet and Stability of Betalain in the Red Beet (Beta vulgaris L.))

  • 감마선 조사가 비트의 품질특성 및 비트의 주요 색소인 betalain에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 비트에 2.5kGy, 5kGy, 10kGy 및 30kGy로 감마선 조사를 실시하였다. 조사에 따른 betalain추출량에는 차이가 없었으며 betacyanin과 betaxanthin은 5kGy의 조사선량에서 높은 optical density 값을 나타내었다. 조사선량이 증가할수록 비트의 명도, 적색도 그리고 황색도는 감소하였으며 pH는 조사에 따른 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 10kGy이상의 감마선 조사는 물성에 나쁜 품질을 나타내었으며 항산화효과는 감마신 조사에 의한 유의적인 변화(p<0.05)를 보이지 않았다. 따가서 천연색소 및 물성 측면에서 볼 때 비트에 대한 10kGy 이상의 감마선 조사는 바람직하지 않은 것으로 생각한다.

나선형 구조의 PBG를 적용한 도허티 전력증폭기의 선형성 개선 (Design of a Doherty Power Amplifier Using the Spiral PBG Structure for Linearity Improvement)

  • 본 논문에서는 도허티 전력증폭기의 출력 정합단에 새로운 광전자밴드갭(PBG) 구조를 적용하여 높은 효율을 유지하면서 선형성을 개선시키도록 하였다. 제안된 나선형 PBG 구조는 비평면 제조 공정을 요구하지 않는 유전체 판 위에 패턴을 뜬 2차원의 규칙적인 격자이다. 실험결과를 통해서 보면, 이 구조는 접지 평면에 세 개의 셀을 식각시킨 기본적인 PBG 구조보다 더 넓은 저지대역과 더 높은 저지 특성을 갖는다. 또한 더욱 가파른 스커트 특성을 갖는다. 이 새로운 PBG 구조는 선형성 개선을 위하여 도허티 전력증폭기에 적용되어 질 수 있다. 나선형 PBG 구조를 적용한 도허티 전력증폭기의 3차 혼변조 왜곡(IMD3)은 코드분할 다중접속(CDMA) 응용에서 -33dBc이다. 제안된 PBG 구조가 없는 도허티 전력증폭기와 비교했을 때, PAE는 유지하면서 IMD3은 -8dBc 개선되었다. 더욱이 나선형 PBG 구조는 기본적인 PBG 구조보다 물리적인 크기가 줄어서 전력증폭기의 전체 크기를 줄일 수 있었다.

친환경 효소가공에서 플라즈마 전처리가 염색성과 태에 미치는 영향 (The Study on the Effect of Plasma Pre-treatment on the Dyeing Properties and the Handle in the Environment Friendly Enzyme Finishing)

  • Cotton, wool, cotton/wool blended (80:20) and tencel fabrics were treated with low temperature oxygen plasma, enzymes (cellulase or protease), or oxygen plasma-enzyme and they were examined for dyeing and handling properties for environment friendly finishing. The appropriate conditions for cellulase treatment were enzyme concentration of 3g/l, pH of 5, and $60^{\circ}C$ for one hour, and for protease treatment were enzyme concentration of 4g/l, pH of 8, and $60^{\circ}C$ for one hour. The equilibrium uptake of a direct dye on cotton changed with plasma treatment and plasma-cellulase treatment, and the rate of dyeing slightly decreased. When wool was dyed with acid dye, the equilibrium dye uptake did not change with plasma, protease treatment nor plasma-protease treatment, however, the rate of dyeing had increased with plasma-protease treatment. From these results, it is assumed that plasma attacks the surface of the fiber, and enzyme mainly affects the inner part of the fiber. Plasma treatment did not affect mechanical properties related to the handling of fabrics. The handling test showed increased extension at maxmum load(EM), tensile energy(WT) with decreased tensile resilience (RT), and the fabrics became softer but resilience decreased slightly with enzyme treatment. The bending recidity(B), hysteresis of bending moment(2HB), and hysteresis of shear force at five degrees(2HG5) decreased, however, shear stiffness(G) increased. I knew the plasma pre-treatment made fabrics softer with lower koshi(stiffness). The handling of plasma pre-treated fabrics was better than that of enzyme-treated fabrics. When we pre-treated fabrics, the handling test showed decreased coefficient of friction(MIU), geometrical roughness(SMD), while the surface of fabrics became smoother and numeri increased. Even though compression resilience(RC) increased, fukurami(bulky property) and compressive elasticity, decreased due to the linearity of compression-thickness curve(LC) and compression energy(WC).

감물을 이용한 천염염색과 염직물 특성 (Natural Dyeing and Dyed Fabrics Properties with Persimmon Juice)

  • The natural dyeing of fabrics with persimmon juice(astringent persimmon, sweet persimmon, astringent and sweet persimmon mix) was investigated. After dyeing of cotton and silk fabrics with persimmon juice, we evaluated the dyeability of persimmon juice, the observation of fabric surface with high magnification video microscope, physical properties and color fastness with the conditions of repeating times of dyeing and variables of mordants. The results obtained from this study were as follows: The fabrics dyed with astringent persimmon have shown the highest color difference, while the fabrics dyed with sweet persimmon and the fabrics dyed with astringent and sweet persimmon mix have shown similar color differences. With the increase of repeating times of dyeing, the brightness of fabric decreased. However, $a^*$ value increased gradually, so that it became dark brown color. The $a^*$ and $b^*$ values of dyed fabrics with Fe-mordant have dropped significantly, so that they have shown achromatic colors. But the fabrics treated with other mordants have shown yellowish brown colors. On the surface of the fabrics, threads were bonded together by the viscosity of persimmon juice. Regardless of the types of persimmon juice, stiffness was increased after dying, while crease resistance was decreased. The water repellency of silk fabrics were improved than cotton fabrics after dyeing with sweet persimmon juice, but in case of cotton, it hasn't changed. Washing fastness was improved with the EM(Effective Microorganism)-fermented liquid treatment, and rubbing fastness of two fabrics was better in dry condition than in wet condition.

  • 본 연구에서는 전하 조절층을 이용하여 녹색 인광 유기발광다이오드의 효율의 향상을 나타냈다. 양극성의 4,4,N,N'-dicarbazolebiphenyl (CBP)를 호스트와 전하 조절층으로 사용하여 발광층 내에서 전하의 이동을 원활하게 할 수 있다. 게다가 전하 조절층의 삽입으로 엑시톤을 효과적으로 발광층 내에 제한하여, 삼중항-삼중항 소멸 현상을 억제할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 발광층의 전체 두께는 유지하고, 전하 조절층의 변화를 준 다섯 개의 소자를 제작하여 최적화된 전하 조절층의 두께를 이용한 Device D는 외부 양자 효율 16.22%와 휘도 효율 55.76 cd/A의 성능을 보였다.

  • In the previous experiment, it was found that OCC pre-treatment with Hobat mixer at 20-25% consistency for 3 hrs or more followed by the application of the equal refining time, caused the increase of tensile strength, burst strength, compressive strength and tear resistance, compared to the no pre-treated. Four completely different fibers, which were Hw-BKP, Sw-BKP, White ledger, and OCC were selected for this experiment to investigate the effect of mechanical pre-treatment process on different fibers. From the experiment, it was found that the mechanical pre-treatment did not decrease fiber length at all, but decreased freeness, compared to the no pre-treated, when the same refining time was applied WRVs of the pre-treated fibers were higher than the no pre-treated at the same freeness level. It was speculated that the mechanical pre-treatment induced only hydrophilic nature of fibers without damaging fiber length by delaminating fiber walls. The fiber surface area and the physical strength differences of handsheets will be discussed in the next publication.

  • This study is a continuation of the previous experimental analysis and is mostly focused on handsheet strength properties. Four completely different fibers, which were Hw-BKP, Sw-BKP, white ledger, and OCC, were selected to investigate the effect of mechanical pre-treatment by Hobart mixer on handsheet strength properties. After equal time mechanical pre-treatment, the fibers were refined with laboratory valley beater for 10, 20 and 30 minutes, and handsheets were prepared from the fibers for physical strength comparison. Handsheets from SW-BKP and OCC showed 5-30% increase of breaking length, burst index, tear index, and compression index while handsheets from HW-BKP and white ledger no Increase except tear index. In Hobart mixer pre-treatment, HW-BKP and white ledger fibers were easily attached to the wall of the mixer bowl and mechanical action was not effectively applied. The fiber length of Hw-BKP and white ledger were 0.837mm and 1.591 mm, respectively, while SW-BKP and OCC were 2.744 mn and 2.033 mm, respectively, in weight weighted length. The effective mechanical pre-treatment seems to be related to the fiber length. Tear indexes of the pre-treated furnish were much higher than no pre-treatment at the same breaking length level.

아스파라거스 분말을 첨가한 스펀지 케이크의 품질 특성 및 항산화 활성 (Quality and Antioxidant Characteristics of Sponge Cake with Asparagus (Asparagus officinals L.) Powder)

  • Asparagus, which was known to be a good source of dietary fiber and vitamins, has been reported to possess various medical actions such as antioxidant and blood pressure regulating effects. In order to examine the quality and antioxidant characteristics of asparagus, asparagus sponge cakes were prepared with different ratios of freeze dried asparagus powder (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, w/w) in this study. With the increase of asparagus powder content in the sponge cakes, the specific gravity and baking loss increased while the dough yield decreased significantly. The moisture contents of the sponge cakes were not significantly different between the control and the cakes prepared with asparagus powder. The pH of the sponge cakes decreased significantly with increased amounts of asparagus powder. Furthermore, the pH of the sponge cake containing 8% asparagus powder was the lowest at 7.49. With the increase of asparagus powder content in the sponge cakes, lightness (L) and redness (a) decreased, whereas yellowness (b) increased. In texture analysis, the hardness and chewiness of the sponge cakes increased as the asparagus powder content increased, while the cohesiveness of the sponge cakes with asparagus powder decreased. Both total polyphenol content and DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl) radical scavenging activity increased significantly with increased levels of asparagus powder content in the sponge cakes. In a sensory evaluation using a scale of 1-7, the sponge cake containing 8% asparagus powder had the lowest sensory preference scores. Therefore, the results of this study suggest that sponge cake prepared with 6% asparagus powder is the most appropriate product for quality characteristics.

Hybrid Noc 시스템을 위한 재구성 가능한 스위치 설계 (Design of a Dynamically Reconfigurable Switch for Hybrid Network-on-Chip Systems)

  • 본 논문은 다양한 멀티미디어 어플리케이션을 수행하는 hybrid NoC 시스템을 위한 새로운 동적 재구성 가능한 스위치를 제안한다. 기존의 고정된 스위치와 job 분배 알고리듬을 사용하는 hybrid NoC 구조는 효과적인 동작을 위하여 해당 NoC 시스템에서 수행될 어플리케이션을 정확히 예측해야 한다. 본 논문은 NoC 시스템에서 수행되는 다양한 멀티미디어 어플리케이션에 대하여 버퍼 오버플로우를 최소화할 수 있는 재구성 가능한 스위치 구조를 제안한다. 제안된 시스템의 검증을 위하여 임베디드 시스템에서 사용되는 다양한 멀티미디어 어플리케이션 중 MPEG4 동영상 재생, MP3재생, GPS 위치 계산, OFDM 복조를 대상으로 실험하였다. 버퍼 오버플로우는 단일구조의 서브 클러스터로 mesh 토폴로지와 star 토폴로지를 갖는 NoC와 비교하여 각각 평균 41.8%와 29.0%의 감소를 보인다. 전력 소모에서는 고정된 스위치를 사용한 hybrid NoC 구조와 비교하여 평균 2.3%의 증가를 보인다. 면적에서는 서브 클러스터의 구조에 따라 -0.6% ${\sim}$ 5.7% 의 증가를 보인다.
