Usually, propagation attenuation of millimeter wave occurs by rainfall, snowfall, temperature, effect of pressure of air. In 60GHz wave band wireless communication network, temperature change becomes big factor of propagation loss department. Also, temperature change causes disturbance of 60GHz frequency at transceiver. In this study, we used 60GHz transceiver and found propagation loss of wireless path and operating frequency disturbance characteristics. In transceiver that there is no temperature compensated device, operating frequency of TX changed by 60.865GHz at temperature of $-5^{\circ}C$, and appeared by 60.730GHz when is $50^{\circ}C$. Therefore, operating frequency change width by temperature change are about 100MHz, greatly. But, in transceiver that there is temperature compensated device, operating frequency of TX changed by 60.830GHz at temperature of $-5^{\circ}C$, and appeared by 60.710GHz when is $50^{\circ}C$. Therefore, operating frequency change width by temperature change are about 20MHz. According to these result, we constructed between buildings examination wireless site for point to point wireless communication using 60GHz band transceivers who have do temperature compensated device, and investigated data transmission characteristics about ambient temperature change. Therefore, if use transceiver that have temperature compensated device, may overcome the wireless transmission error in 60GHz band wireless communication LAN networks despite of ambient temperature change.
It is necessary to measure pressure, temperature, chemical equilibrium and the shape of flame in order to understand the combustion process in a combustion chamber. In particular, the flame formulation and combustion process of divided combustion chamber are different from those of a single chamber, And the variable diameter of a jet hole can effect not only physical properties like ejection velocity, temperature and time of combustion but also a chemical property like the reaction mechanism. Accordingly temperature is one of the most important factors which influence the combustion mechanism. This paper observed shape of flame by using the schlieren photographs and measured the pressure in a combustion chamber and the reaching time of the flame by ion probe By doing these, we investigation the formulation of the flame and the process of propagation. These measurement methods can be advanced in understanding the combustion process and process and propagation of flame.
Fourier heat conduction law becomes invalid for the situations involving extremely short time heating, very low temperatures and fast moving heat source(or crack), since the wave nature of heat propagation becomes dominant. For these conditions, the modified heat conduction equation with the finite propagation speed of heat in the medium could be applied to predict heat flux and temperature distributions. In this study, temperature distributions at the vicinity of a very fast moving heat source are investigated numerically. Thermal fields are characterized by thermal Mach numbers(M) defined as the ratio of moving heat source speed to heat propagation speed in the solid. In the transonic and supersonic ranges($M{\ge}1$), thermal shocks are shown, which separate the heat affected zone from the thermally undisturbed zone.
The present study deals with the propagation of Love wave (a type of surface wave) in crustal layer having temperature dependent inhomogeneity. It is assumed that the inhomogeneity in the crustal layer arises due to linear temperature variation in rigidity and density. The upper boundary of the crustal layer is traction free. Numerical results for Love wave are discussed by plotting analytical curves between phase velocity against wave number and stress against depth in the presence of inhomogeneity and temperature parameters. The effects boundary condition on the Love wave propagation in the crustal layer is also analyzed. The results presented in this study would be useful for seismologists and geologists.
The purpose of this study is to predict the behavior of fatigue crack propagation as one of fracture mechanics on the compressive residual stress. We got the following characteristics from fatigue crack growth test carried out in the environment of room temperature and low temperature at $25^{\circ}C$, -6$0^{\circ}C$, -8$0^{\circ}C$, and -10$0^{\circ}C$ in the range of stress ratio of 0.3 by means of opening mode displacement. There is a difference between shot peened specimen and unpeened specimen. Fatigue crack growth rate of shot peened specimen was lower than that of unpeened specimen. Shot peening is improve the resistance of crack growth by fatigue that make a compressive residual stress on surface. That is the constrained force about plasticity deformation was strengthened by resultant stress, which resulted from plasticity deformation and compressive residual stress in the process of fatigue crack propagation. Temperature goes down, fatigue crack growth rate decreased.
The fatigue crack propagation tests were performed in triangular and holding-time stress waveforms at $650^{\circ}C$. The behavior of fatigue crack propagation was investigated according to waveform. The analysis of high temperature fatigue crack propagation by the stress intensity factor range ${\Delta}K$, elastic fracture mechanics parameter, was not available. The behaviors of high temperature fatigue crack propagation by the J-integral(${\Delta}J_f$, J' and ${\Delta}J_c$), elasto-plastic fracture mechanics parameter, were investigated in a number of stress waveforms. The fast-fast waveform exhibited cycle-dependent(fatigue type), the slow-fast and the hold time with 500sec waveforms appear to be time-dependent(creep type) and the fast-slow and the hold time with 5, 25sec waveforms exhibited conbined behavior of both types(fatigue-creep conbined type).
The effect of temperature, frequency and microstructure on fatigue crack propagation property of Ti-6A1-4V alloy has been investigated. The temperatures employed were room temperature, 20$0^{\circ}C$ and 40$0^{\circ}C$. The frequencies were 20Hz and 8 Hz. The microstructures tested were equiaxed and bimodal microstructures. Mechanical properties and fatigue crack growth rates were measured in different test conditions. From the experimental results, following conclusions were obtained. Bimodal microstructure showed superior fatigue crack growth resistance to equiaxed microstructure. Under all test conditions, fatigue crack growth rate increased with test temperature. Wine the frequency decreasing from 20Hz to 8Hz, fatigue crack growth rate increased.
We got the following characteristics from fatigue crack growth test carried out in the environment of room temperature and low temperature at $25^{circ}C$, $-60^{circ}C$, $-80^{circ}C$, and $-100^{circ}C$ in the range of stress ratio of 0.3 by means of opening mode displacement. And there is a difference between shot peened specimen and unpeened specimen. The purpose of this study is to predict the behavior of fatigue crack propagation as one of fracture mechanics on the compressive residual stress. Fatigue crack growth rate of shot peened metal was lower than that of unpeened metal. The compressive residual stress made an impact on tension and compression of the plasticity deformation in fatigue crack plasticity zone. That is. the constrained force about plasticity deformation was strengthened by resultant stress, which resulted from plasticity deformation and compressive residual stress in the process of fatigue crack propagation.
A numerical simulation of flame propagation in a micro combustor was carried out. Combustor has a sub -millimeter depth cylindrical internal volume and axisymmetric one-dimensional was used to simplify the geometry. Semi-empirical heat transfer model was used to account for the heat loss to the walls during the flame propagation. A detailed chemical kinetics model of $H_2/Air$ with 10 species and 16 reaction steps was used to calculate the combustion. An operator-splitting PISO scheme that is non-iterative, time-dependent, and implicit was used to solve the system of transport equations. The computation was validated for adiabatic flame propagation and showed good agreement with existing results of adiabatic flame propagation. A full simulation including the heat loss model was carried out and results were compared with measurements made at corresponding test conditions. The heat loss that adds its significance at smaller value of combust or height obviously affected the flame propagation speed as final temperature of the burnt gas inside the combustor. Also, the distribution of gas properties such as temperature and species concentration showed wide variation inside the combustor, which affected the evaluation of total work available of the gases.
An efficient shear deformation theory is developed for wave propagation analysis of an infinite functionally graded plate in the presence of thermal environments. By dividing the transverse displacement into bending and shear parts, the number of unknowns and governing equations of the present theory is reduced, and hence, makes it simple to use. The thermal effects and temperature-dependent material properties are both taken into account. The temperature field is assumed to be a uniform distribution over the plate surface and varied in the thickness direction only. Material properties are assumed to be temperature-dependent, and graded in the thickness direction according to a simple power law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of the constituents. The governing equations of the wave propagation in the functionally graded plate are derived by employing the Hamilton's principle and the physical neutral surface concept. There is no stretching.bending coupling effect in the neutral surface-based formulation, and consequently, the governing equations and boundary conditions of functionally graded plates based on neutral surface have the simple forms as those of isotropic plates. The analytic dispersion relation of the functionally graded plate is obtained by solving an eigenvalue problem. The effects of the volume fraction distributions and temperature on wave propagation of functionally graded plate are discussed in detail. It can be concluded that the present theory is not only accurate but also simple in predicting the wave propagation characteristics in the functionally graded plate. The results carried out can be used in the ultrasonic inspection techniques and structural health monitoring.
