  • Let R be a commutative ring with identity and S a multiplicative subset of R. First, we introduce and study the u-S-projective dimension and u-S-injective dimension of an R-module, and then explore the u-S-global dimension u-S-gl.dim(R) of a commutative ring R, i.e., the supremum of u-S-projective dimensions of all R-modules. Finally, we investigate u-S-global dimensions of factor rings and polynomial rings.

  • In this note all are commutative rings with identity and all modules are unital. Let R be a ring. An R-module M is called a multiplication module if for every submodule N of M there esists an ideal I of R such that N = IM. Clearly the ring R is a multiplication module as a module over itself. Also, it is well known that invertible and more generally profective ideals of R are multiplication R-modules (see [11, Theorem 1]).

  • In this paper, the projectivity of finitely generated flat modules of a commutative ring are studied from a topological point of view. Then various interesting results are obtained. For instance, it is shown that if a ring has either finitely many minimal primes or finitely many maximal ideals then every finitely generated flat module over it is projective. It is also shown that if a particular subset of the prime spectrum of a ring satisfies some certain ascending or descending chain conditions, then every finitely generated flat module over this ring is projective. These results generalize some major results in the literature on the projectivity of finitely generated flat modules.

  • In this paper, the notions of strong Connes amenability for certain products of Banach algebras and module extension of dual Banach algebras is investigated. We characterize χ ⊗ η-strong Connes amenability of projective tensor product ${\mathbb{K}}{\hat{\bigotimes}}{\mathbb{H}}$ via χ ⊗ η-σwc virtual diagonals, where χ ∈ 𝕂* and η ∈ ℍ* are linear functionals on dual Banach algebras 𝕂 and ℍ, respectively. Also, we present some conditions for the existence of (χ, θ)-σwc virtual diagonals in the θ-Lau product of 𝕂 ×θ ℍ. Finally, we characterize the notion of (χ, 0)-strong Connes amenability for module extension of dual Banach algebras 𝕂 ⊕ 𝕏, where 𝕏 is a normal Banach 𝕂-bimodule.

  • The so-called Ding-Chen ring is an n-FC ring which is both left and right coherent, and has both left and right self FP-injective dimensions at most n for some non-negative integer n. In this paper, we investigate the classes of the so-called Ding projective, Ding injective and Gorenstein at modules and show that some homological properties of modules over Gorenstein rings can be generalized to the modules over Ding-Chen rings. We first consider Gorenstein at and Ding injective dimensions of modules together with Ding injective precovers. We then discuss balance of functors Hom and tensor.
