As industry of a semiconductor and LCD industry have been rapidly growing, precision technologies of machining such as etching and 3D measurement are required. Stylus has been important measuring method in traditional manufacturing process. However, its disadvantages are low measuring speed and damage possibility at contacting point. To overcome mentioned disadvantage, non-contacting measurement method is needed such as PMP(Phase Measuring Profilometry), WSI(white scanning interferometer) and Confocal Profilometry. Among above 3 well-known methods, WSI started to be applied to FPD(flat panel display) manufacturing process. Even though it overcomes 21t ambiguity of PMP method and can measure objects which has specular surface, the measuring speed and vibration coming from manufacturing machine are one of main issue to apply full automatic total inspection. In this study, We develop high speed WSI system and algorithm to reduce unknown noise. The developing WSI and algorithm are implemented to measure 3D surface of wafer. Experimental results revealed that the proposed system and algorithm are able to measure 3D surface profile of wafer with a good precision and high speed.

The speed and direction of the earth's fluid motion is measured by a remote sensing method using electromagnetic waves. Using UHF radar and GPS Sonde, the vertical profile of fluid velocity was calculated by the Euler measurement method and the Lagrange measurement method, respectively. Since the wind direction, which is the direction of motion of the atmosphere, is indicated in the direction of the wind blowing, and a circular value of 0° - 360° is used, it is necessary to pay attention to statistical analysis. Errors caused by calculation conditions are provided, and the corrected accuracy of comparison results is improved by 400%.

A new Korean Meteorological Administration (KMA) airborne measurement platform has been established for regular observations for scientific purpose over South Korea since late 2017. CRDS G-2401m analyzer mounted on the King Air 350HW was used to continuous measurement of CO2, CH4 and CO mole fraction. The total uncertainty of measurements was estimated to be 0.07 ppm for CO2, 0.5 ppb for CH4, and 4.2 ppb for CO by combination of instrument precision, repeatability test simulated in-flight condition and water vapor correction uncertainty. The airborne vertical profile measurements were performed at a regional Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Anmyeon-do (AMY) station that belongs to the Total Carbon Column Observing Network (TCCON) and provides concurrent observations to the Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite (GOSAT) overpasses. The vertical profile of CO2 shows clear altitude gradient, while the CH4 shows non-homogenous pattern in the free troposphere over Anmyeon-do. Vertically averaged CO2 at the altitude between 1.5 and 8.0km are lower than AMY surface background value about 7 ppm but higher than that observed in free troposphere of western pacific region about 4 ppm, respectively. CH4 shows lower level than those from ground GAW stations, comparable with flask airborne data that was taken in the western pacific region. Furthermore, this study shows that the combination of CH4 distribution in free troposphere and trajectory analysis, taking account of convective mixing, is a useful tool in investigating CH4 transport processes from tropical region to Korean region in winter season.
This is a study on large-scale rock joint roughness measurements using LIDAR (light detection and ranging) and the Split-FX point cloud processing software. The large-scale rock Joint Roughness Coefficient (JRC) is calculated using the maximum amplitude of joint asperities over the profile length on large-scale Joint surfaces of rock. As the profile length increases, JRC decreases due to scale-effects of rock specimens and is non-stationary. Also JRC shows anisotropy depending on the profile direction. The profile direction is measured relative to either dip or strike of the large-scale joint.
This study presents a new method called the SPMP (Semi-automatic profile measuring program) to efficiently measure body shape in elderly women. SPMP can automatically measure the angle of axis (19 items), surface (17 items), lengths (14 items), heights (16 items), widths (13 items), and depth (6 items). In total these 85 items are automatically measured very quickly, accurately, and easily after manually marking an initial 36 points. The utility of SPMP was evaluated using several tests. When SPMP measuring results were compared with manual methods (using a ruler and protractor) in thirteen elderly women using a paired t-test, there was no significant difference found between them. Furthermore, when measurements from SPMP were compared with actual measurement results in selected items from seven elderly women's measurements, smaller mean differences were found than those defined by ISO 20685, with the exception of the abdominal area which moves easily with breathing. Seven independent measurements of a single elderly woman were made by seven students using SPMP, and the values of coefficient of variation were less than 5% for all but 8 items. Finally, this study analyzed the correlation of all 85 item measurements, and found that the angle from the upper chest to the neck towards the front in the axis curved forward as much as the axis angle from the thigh to the waist (r=-0.876, $^{**}p$ < 0.01) bent backwards in elderly women. This detailed analysis helps to understand age-related changes in body posture, and will be useful in future studies.

Purpose : The examine the reliability and validity of the modified Emory Functional Ambulation Profile(mEFAP) for assessing gait function in chronic stroke patients. Methods : A total of 45 stroke patients, who had a stroke more than 6 months, participated in the study. Reliability was determined by Intra-class Correlation Coefficient($ICC_{3,1}$), including Bland and Altman method (Standard Error of Measurement: SEM, Small Real Differences: SRD). Validity was examined by correlating results to the gait ability(mEFAP, Modified Motor Assessment Scale-Gait(MMAS-G), Scandinavian Stroke Scale-Gait(SSS-G), Functional Ambulation Category(FAC), 10m Waking Test(10m WT)), and Fugl Meyer-Lower/Extremity(FM-L/E), Berg Balance Scale(BBS). Results : Inter-rater reliability for the total mEFAP was High($ICC_{2,1}$=.998), and absolute reliability were excellent (SEM: 1.75, SRD: 4.85). Subjects without assistance factor performed better on all tests than did subjects who had stroke. There were significant correlations between the mEFAP and MMAS-G, SSS-G, FAC(r=-.66~-.79), 10 m WT(r=-.86), and FM-L/E, BBS(r=-.72~-.78), indicating good validity. Increased times on the mEFAP correlated with poor performance on the gait ability, motor function of lower extremity, BBS and slow gait speeds on the 10 m WT in stroke patients. Conclusion : The mEFAP can be administered easily and comprehensively. It is a reliable gait assessment tool for patients with stroke and correlated with known of function, the mEFAP may be a clinically useful measure of ambulation.
We have developed a daytime measuring rotational Raman LIDAR system for temperature measurement. To decrease the background signal from sunlight, we have designed and installed narrow band (0.5 nm) and high rejection ($10^{-6}$) rate band pass filter system using a grating and an interference filter. We calibrated our system by comparing our horizontal temperature profile and KMA (Korea Meteorological Administration) data. We have found that our temperature profile has a good correlation with KMA data within our theoretically expected variance. And we have used these calibration values in obtaining a vertical temperature distribution. To check our system, we also have compared our vertical temperature data with US standard atmospheric temperature profile. We also have compared our temperature profile with sonde data.

Distress data, IRI, etc. are important factors in the evaluation of pavement condition. Recently, the need to consider tire-pavement noise in PMS (pavement management system) is raised. Generally, tire-pavement noise highly depends on the characteristics of pavement texture. Therefore, estimation of texture characteristics may give useful information to predict tire-pavement noise. Measurement of MPD (Mean Profile Depth) by using PLP (Portable Laser Profiler) provide very fast. The texture characteristics by means of MPD can be in a short time. hence, It can be a good alternative to give noise information, if MPD and tire-pavement noise have robust relationship. In this study, MPD and tire-pavement noise were simultaneously collected on the number of asphalt section to evaluate the tire-pavement noise due to the pavement texture characteristics. A set of statistical analysis was performed to propose relationship between tire-pavement noise and MPD for asphalt concrete pavement.
Pulse diagnosis is the one of the most important diagnostic process to traditional medical doctors. Although the pulse diagnosis position, Gwan is apart from Chon or Cheok by 10$\sim$20mm at most, traditional medical doctors applies different indent pressures and even they states different pulse images are felt at Chon, Gwan and Cheok. One the other hand, the education on pulse diagnosis behavior includes tantalizing problem caused by no tool for communication between trainer and trainee. On account of this situation, we tried to develop a system which can measure the hold-down pressure during a pulse diagnosis and compare the hold-down pressure profile of trainer and that of trainee. This system can be divided into three parts - pulse pressure sensing part, signal acquisition part and data storing part. A correction curve was generated by the relation between output voltages and standard weights. Using this system, 3 channel hold-down pressure profile of a oriental medical doctor were recorded three times. In the profile, three period were observed and all period included two process for searching the depth of pulsation and for classifying the pulse feeling into one or more of 28 pulse types. The maximum value of pulse profile was 1.3$kg{\cdot}f$ which was more than reported by previous chinese groups and the mean values of three channel ranged from 240$g{\cdot}f$ to 430$g{\cdot}f$. In frequency domain, each channel has some dominant frequency components - about 10Hz, 35Hz and 75Hz. In further study, we want to collect more profiles from lage number of oriental medicine doctors and hope to develop a measuring system which can measure the hold-down pressure on subject's skin directly.

Velocity profiles of laminar, transition and turbulent boundary layers were investigated by using Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV) measurements on the flat plate at Mach 2.96. The Schlieren visualization and PIV measurements are also used to confirm whether the oblique shock wave generated from the leading edge affects the flow field over the flat plate. The laminar velocity profile measured from the experiment was well matched with the compressible Blasius solution. The velocity profile of the transition boundary layer was well correlated with the theoretical turbulent velocity profile from near the wall and the transition began from Re = $1.41{\times}106$. For the turbulent boundary layer, considering compressibility effects, the Van Driest-transformed velocity satisfies the incompressible log-law. It is found that the log region is extended farther in the wall-normal direction compared to the log region in incompressible boundary layer.
