  • The optimal condition for hydrolysis of oyster was evaluated with proteases using response surface methodology(RSM). Among 11 commerical proteases, APLTM 440 was selected as the suitable protease for producing oyster hydrolysate on the basis of cost per unit enzyme activity. The effect of autolysis on degree of hydrolysis in oyster was negligible comparing to that of APL 440 protease treatment. From RSM and ridge analysis, the conditions favoring the highest degree of hydrolysis were pH 9.95, 61.1$^{\circ}C$, 2.64 hr reaction time, 49.2% substrate, and 0.35% enzyme/substrate ratio. Oyster hydrolysate prepared under optimal conditions shwoed virtually 51.98% of hydrolysis.

  • Kimura's disease is a chronic inflammatory condition producing subcutaneous tumor-like nodules mainly head and neck regions. Elevated serum Ig E levels and peripheral blood eosinophilia are common. Kimura's disease represents and aberrant immune reaction to an as yet unknown stimulus. This case presented is 27 year old female whose chief complaint were painful swelling on Rt cheek and temporal area and diagnosed as Kimura's disease. We preformed surgical excision of the mass on Rt. cheek and temporal area and reconstructed with temporal flap and about 100 cc of free fat graft on the defect of Rt. cheek.

  • The conception of the passive lossless snubber with the simpler is presented. Thus a necessity condition of the passive lossless soft switching converter with the simplest topology is directed. A novel passive regenerative snubber called soft snubber applied to a hard switching converter is proposed. The passive snubber consists of a snubber inductor, two snubber rectifiers, and a snubber capacitor. The losses are reduced by inserting a snubber inductor in the series path of the rectifier during it's turn off. It is so simple that can make energy reset or capacitor discharged directly without producing any current circulation. To show the superiority of this converter is verified through the experiment with a 640W, 100kHz prototype converter.

  • The transient heat transfer characteristics in the radiant heating panel were predicted by numerical analysis. Thermal behaviors of panel, such as temperature distributions in panel and convective and radiative heat fluxes in panel surface with respect to time were obtained. Heating hours per day, rate of energy supplied and maximum temperature differences at panel surface were also compared for several important parameters. The performance and thermal comfort of heating panel were studied and compared for various operating and design conditions such as pipe pitch, pipe location, pipe diameter and flow rate of hot water for the purpose of producing useful data, which can be used for the test and decision of efficient operating condition of the conventional heating systems or the optimal design of the new panel heating systems.

  • In this paper the gas leakage controller in processing chamber for semiconductor manufacturing is proposed. A pressure sensor is connected between the final valve and the numeric valve. A pressure sensor signal and a numeric valve signal are controlled by a proposed digital circuit module. Gas leakage condition, producing by 2nd plasticity in semiconductor process, display at LED. The proposed controller module is useful for monitoring the gas flow for preventing the critical process gas leakage.

  • A split-phase induction motor with asymmetrical magnetizing reactance axes develops starting torque and its efficiency can be high under certain conditions. In this paper, one method of producing the asymmetry of magnetizing reactance axes is described. The grain-oriented silicon steel core is used to produce the asymmetric axes instead of non-oriented silicon steel core which is used in general motors. The optimum design method for the motor is suggested and analyzed. To verify this suggestion, the permanent capacitor run type induction motors are designed to be driven at balanced condition by its asymmetrical effect, and then the oscillating torque due to the asymmetry of motor structures are analyzed. Tests of the sample motor have shown good performance comparable to ordinary types. This motor structure can be used where high effciency and reliability are required, and also the amount of core materials can be reduced due to its high permeability.

  • Recently, greater attention has been paid to the high-speed generator for its many merits, such as ease of installation, high efficiency and high power density. However, due to their high fundamental frequency, careful consideration needs to be given to both electromagnetic and mechanical design issues. This paper deals with the comparison of two types of permanent magnet high-speed machines. Specifically, the effect of the permanent magnet magnetization pattern on the rotor losses is investigated. On the basis of analytical field analysis and the 2-D finite element method, this paper predicts the flux harmonics and rotor losses under the no-load condition. It is shown that the Halbach magnetization is superior to parallel magnetization in terms of producing rotor losses.

  • This study attempts to develop a rational approach to flexural concrete beam analysis with crack growth. In order to develope analytical solutions, several simplification and assumption are made and the Hillerborg fictitious crack model is adapted for new rational approach to the flexural concrete beam. To provide desired results, the concrete beams with various conditions(more than 126 beam conditions) are analyzed. Before producing the results, these assumptions are founded to be justified by comparison with a FE analysis. The results for each condition of the beams are presented in terms of crack lengths, the strength and cracking stability of concrete beams. And also size effects in a flexural concrete beam is studied using a new flexural cracking model.

  • Namhae chemical is one of the largest fertilizer manufacturing company in Korea which company has operating 4 unit agitator gear boxes and producing variety kinds of fertilizer production. The gearbox operating temperature of agitator is approximated in $55^{\circ}C{\sim}90^{\circ}C$ and required to keep operating continuous without stopping. The system required high performance oil and longer oil drain interval as limited workforce in maintenance team. It was lubricated by mineral gear oil of ISO VG 320 and also need to change to new oil frequently. Namhae Chemical would expect to keep stable operating condition without shut down and consider, lower cost of operation and equipment protection.
