Procedural Interface between Freehand Sketch-based Modeling System and Commercial MCAD (프리핸드 스케치 기반 모델링 시스템과 상업용 MCAD의 절차적 인터페이스)

  • Research that reconstructs a 3D model from a freehand 2D sketch has gained attention since 1990s, when data integration in the CAD/CAPP/CAM/CNC chain was an important issue. However, 2D sketches in the conceptual design phase have not been integrated with the downstream CAD/CAPP/CAM/CNC chain. In this paper, we present a method to interface a freehand sketch modeling to commercial CAD systems by mapping a sketch modeling history to the macro parametric history. We use an extended ISO10303-112 standard to represent the modeling history in a gestural modeling system and translate sketch files to neutral macro files. Macro parametric translators are used to translate netural macro files to commercial CAD files.

  • 본 논문에서는 절차적인(procedural) 방법으로 지형을 모델링하고 텍스쳐링 하는 기법을 제안하고 구현하였다. 절차적인 기법에서 널리 쓰이는 노이즈 함수(noise function)를 이용하여 지형 데이터를 생성한다. 동시에 지형 기본적인 텍스쳐 자료를 입력받아 역시 노이즈 함수를 이용하여 텍스쳐를 생성한다. 이렇게 절차적인 기법으로 모델링과 텍스쳐링을 수행할 경우, 데이터를 파일이나 데이터베이스에 따로 저장한 필요가 없으므로, 거대한 또는 무한한 크기의 지형을 손쉽게 생성할 수 있다. 이 기법은 야외 지형을 필요로 하는 3D 온라인 게임(Online Game)에 응용될 수 있다. 또한, 인터넷상에서 가상공간을 구현한 때 지형 데이터를 서버로부터 다운 받을 필요가 없기 때문에 무한한 야외의 공간을 쉽게 구현할 수 있다.

The Influence of Organizational Justice on Employees' Motivation to Participate in Training: A Quality System Perspective on Human Resource Practices

  • This study sought to examine the effect of three (distributive, procedural, and interactional) justice perceptions in predicting employees' motivation to participate in training activities. On the basis of theoretical linkages between the constructs, full mediation and partial mediation models by perceived benefits of training were developed. The models were tested using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) on responses from 302 employees of three wireless operators in the Republic of Korea. The results showed the partial-mediation model is a dominant model. It also confirmed that interactional justice directly influence motivation to participate in training, whereas procedural justice influence the variable through perceived benefits of training. Furthermore, limitations and implications of the current study and directions for future work are discussed.

L-System Based Procedural Synthesis Method to Efficiently Generate Dense, Radial, and Concentric Cracks of Glass (유리의 미세, 방사상, 동심원 균열을 효율적으로 생성하기 위한 L-System 기반의 절차적 합성 방법)

  • We propose a complex crack generation technique which is represented when impact is applied to glass. The crack patterns expressed when external forces are applied to the glass are classified into dense, radial, and concentric cracks, and we use procedural methods to efficiently represent crack patterns. Based on the input external force, we synthesize the crack example and apply the L-system based on this example to model the propagation shape of the crack in real time. Although physics based crack generation can analyze and model accurate cracks, it has a disadvantage of slow computation because of its high computational cost, and procedural methods have a relatively fast rate of continuity, but are not sufficient to capture accurate crack characteristics. We modeled cracks in glass using L-system to achieve both of these advantages. As a result, it realistically represented the microscopic crack patterns of glass in real time.

GPU-based modeling and rendering techniques of 3D clouds using procedural functions (절차적 함수를 이용한 GPU기반 실시간 3D구름 모델링 및 렌더링 기법)

  • This paper proposes a GPU-based modeling and rendering of 3D clouds using procedural functions. The formation of clouds is based on modified noise function made with fbm(Fractional Brownian Motion). Those noise values turn into densities of droplets of liquid water, which is a critical parameter for forming the three different types of clouds. At the rendering stage, the algorithm applies the ray marching technique to decide the colors of cloud using density values obtained from the noise function. In this process, all lighting attenuation and scattering are calculated by physically based manner. Once we have the clouds, they are blended on the sky, which is also rendered physically. We also make the clouds moving in the sky by the wind force. All algorithms are implemented and tested on GPU using GLSL.

  • Virtual reality, one of the core technologies of the 4th industrial revolution, is entering a new phase with the spread of low-cost wearable devices represented by Oculus. In the case of disaster evacuation drills, where practical training is almost impossible due to the risk of accidents, virtual reality is becoming a new alternative that enables effective training. In this paper, we propose a smoke modeling method that can be applied to fire evacuation drills implemented with virtual reality technology. In the event of a fire, smoke spreads along the aisle, and the density of the smoke changes over time. The proposed method models the smoke by applying a procedural function that can reflect the density of smoke calculated through simulation to the model in real-time. Implementation results in the background of the factory show that the proposed method produces models that can express the smoke according to the user's movement.

  • This study is about development of Feature-based Solid Modeling system in integrated CAD/CAM environment. Parasolid modeling kernel and HOOPS/3D graphics library was used to develop this system in PC level. System feature library was defined using both procedural and declarative approach method. The raw stock is created by boolean operator using design primitives, and a part is designed that pre-defined feature is removed from the raw stock. This method is called "DSG(Destructive Solid Geometry)" and basic constructive operator of this system. This is not complete system and only the first step to develop Feature-based Solid Modeling System using Parasolid. We will add more powerful functionality and flexible GUI in Windows.n Windows.

  • It is known that certain convolution sums can be expressed as a combination of divisor functions and Bernoulli formula. In this article, we consider relationship between fifth-order combinatoric convolution sums of divisor functions and Bernoulli polynomials. As applications of these identities, we give a concrete interpretation in terms of the procedural modeling method.

  • In this paper, we developed object-oriented analysis method for electric power system. It was applied to fault diagnosis, power system stability analysis and service restoration system in emergency state. Objectoriented programming(OOP)is a more flexible method than procedural programming. We proposed flexible modeling method for power system analysis.

The Influence of Perceived Organizational Justice on Innovation Resistance among Instructors in Sport Centers: The Mediating Effects of Organizational Trust (스포츠센터 지도자들의 조직공정성 인식이 혁신저항에 미치는 영향: 조직신뢰의 매개효과 분석)

  • This study investigated the effects of perceived organizational justice on innovation resistance among instructors in sport centers and examined the mediating effects of organizational trust on these relationships. Total 274 sport instructors participated in this study. The data were analyzed by structural equation modeling, and the results of this study were as follows: First, distributive justice had a negative effect on psychological resistance, while distributive justice had no significant effect on behavioral resistance. Second, procedural justice had a negative effect on psychological resistance and behavioral resistance. Third, both distributive justice and procedural justice had a positive effect on organizational trust. Fourth, organizational trust had a negative effect on psychological resistance and behavioral resistance. Fifth, organizational trust had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between distributive justice and psychological resistance and a full mediating effect on the relationship between distributive justice and behavioral resistance. Also, organizational trust had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between procedural justice and innovation resistance.
