Robots are expected to expand their scope of application to the military field and take on important missions such as surveillance and enemy detection in the coming future warfare. Swarm robots can perform tasks that are difficult or time-consuming for a single robot to be performed more efficiently due to the advantage of having multiple robots. Swarm robots require mutual recognition and collaboration. So they send and receive vast amounts of data, making it increasingly difficult to verify SW. Hardware-in-the-loop simulation used to increase the reliability of mission verification enables SW verification of complex swarm robots, but the amount of verification data exchanged between the HILS device and the simulator increases exponentially according to the number of systems to be verified. So communication overload may occur. In this paper, we propose a digital twin-based communication optimization technique to solve the communication overload problem that occurs in mission verification of swarm robots. Under the proposed Digital Twin based Multi HILS Framework, Network DT can efficiently allocate network resources to each robot according to the mission scenario through the Network Controller algorithm, and can satisfy all sensor generation rates required by individual robots participating in the group. In addition, as a result of an experiment on packet loss rate, it was possible to reduce the packet loss rate from 15.7% to 0.2%.
Recently, artificial intelligence parking control systems have increased the recognition rate of vehicle license plates using deep learning, but there is a problem that they cannot determine vehicles with fake license plates. Despite these security problems, several institutions have been using the existing system so far. For example, in an experiment using a counterfeit license plate, there are cases of successful entry into major government agencies. This paper proposes an improved system over the existing artificial intelligence parking control system to prevent vehicles with such fake license plates from entering. The proposed method is to use the degree of matching of the front feature points of the vehicle as a passing criterion using the ORB algorithm that extracts information on feature points characterized by an image, just as the existing system uses the matching of vehicle license plates as a passing criterion. In addition, a procedure for checking whether a vehicle exists inside was included in the proposed system to prevent the entry of the same type of vehicle with a fake license plate. As a result of the experiment, it showed the improved performance in identifying vehicles with fake license plates compared to the existing system. These results confirmed that the methods proposed in this paper could be applied to the existing parking control system while taking the flow of the original artificial intelligence parking control system to prevent vehicles with fake license plates from entering.

Exercise is necessary for a healthy life, but it is recommended that it be conducted in a non-face-to-face environment in the context of an epidemic such as COVID-19. However, in the existing non-face-to-face exercise content, it is possible to recognize exercise movements, but the process of interpreting and providing feedback information is not automated. Therefore, in this paper, to solve this problem, we propose a method of creating a formalized rule to track the contents of exercise and the motions that constitute it. To make such a rule, first make a rule for the overall exercise content, and then create a tracking rule for the motions that make up the exercise. A motion tracking rule can be created by dividing the motion into steps and defining a key frame pose that divides the steps, and creating a transition rule between states and states represented by the key frame poses. The rules created in this way are premised on the use of posture and motion recognition technology using motion capture equipment, and are used for logical development for automation of application of these technologies. By using the rules proposed in this paper, not only recognizing the motions appearing in the exercise process, but also automating the interpretation of the entire motion process, making it possible to produce more advanced contents such as an artificial intelligence training system. Accordingly, the quality of feedback on the exercise process can be improved.
The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics and types of errors in the conceptual image of Korean language learners according to the types of terms in mathematics that are the basis for solving mathematical word problems, and to prepare basic data for effective teaching and learning methods in solving the word problems of Korean language learners. To do this, a case study was conducted targeting four Korean language learners to analyze the specific conceptual images of terms registered in curriculum and terms that were not registered in curriculum but used in textbooks. As a result of this study, first, it is necessary to guide Korean language learners by using sufficient visualization material so that they can form appropriate conceptual definitions for terms in school mathematics. Second, it is necessary to understand the specific relationship between the language used in the home of Korean language learners and the conceptual image of terms in school mathematics. Third, it is necessary to pay attention to the passive term, which has difficulty in understanding the meaning rather than the active term. Fourth, even for Korean language learners who do not have difficulties in daily communication, it is necessary to instruct them on everyday language that are not registered in the curriculum but used in math textbooks. Fifth, terms in school mathematics should be taught in consideration of the types of errors that reflect the linguistic characteristics of Korean language learners shown in the explanation of terms. This recognition is expected to be helpful in teaching word problem solving for Korean language learners with different linguistic backgrounds.

This study empirically identified and sought implications for the degree of desire by film crews to participate in overseas production and the factors affecting them, based on the recognition that the active participation of skilled film crews in overseas production and joint ventures can be an alternative to the poor treatment of domestic film industry sites and the reduction of job losses due to problems with career barriers. In order for respondents to verify research questions, binomial logistic and marginal effects analysis using SPSS and STATA, the data obtained by surveying 402 film crews operating in various areas. The notable findings are as follow: First, about 65%(263 people) of the respondents expressed their desire to participate in overseas activity, indicating that a considerable number of film crews are looking forward to opportunities with overseas productions. Second, major factors that have a positive effect on film crews' need to participate in overseas activities have been found to be professionality, artistic identity, Korean Wave persistence, and career barriers. In other words, the higher the professionality, the more clearly the identity of the artist, the more positive expectations of the possibility of the Korean Wave continuing, and the more serious the problem of career disability, the clearer was the desire to participate in overseas production and joint-work activities.

Background and objective: The Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (SNUBH) implemented ward-based clinical pharmacy system with designated pharmacists in 10 general wards. Designated pharmacists conduct inpatient medication review, medication intervention, and medication consultation, and provide drug information for health care providers. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical pharmacy services and to examine the perception and expectations of health care providers on the services provided by the designated pharmacists in general wards. Methods: A survey was constructed to include questions on the health care providers' recognition, satisfaction, and perceived needs of designated pharmacists. We determined the frequency and type of interventions of ward pharmacist and their acceptance rate through a retrospective observational study using electronic medical records. Results: A total of 59 health care providers responded the questionnaire and 79.7% of the respondents reported moderate to high levels of satisfaction. Satisfaction with the services was positively associated with clinical interventions and nutrition support team (81.4%). Of 59 respondents, 88.1% agreed that preventing drug-related problems by designated pharmacists' activities were effective. The most common interventions included inadequate dosage (27.4%), omission and additional prescription (14.6%) and inadequate drug form (9.6%). The acceptance rate of intervention was 91.5%, and 151 potentially serious risks and 523 significant risks were prevented by the intervention. Conclusion: Positive results were confirmed in the awareness, satisfaction, and perceived needs of the health care providers for designated pharmacists. Expansion of the ward-based clinical pharmacy system with designated pharmacists to other wards may be considered.

In this study, we investigated the change in science core competency perception of high school students and the reason for change when science inquiry classes were conducted using eight 'skills' of the 2015 revised science curriculum. Fifteen first-year high school students in Jeollanam-do participated in the science inquiry class of this study, and the class was conducted for 20 hours (5 hours a day for four days). The inquiry activities used in the class consisted of four activity stages (research problems, research methods, research results, and conclusions) and each stage was constructed to include at least one 'skill (Problem Recognition, Model Development and Use, Inquiry Design and Performance, Data Collection, Analysis and Interpretation, Mathematical Thinking and Computer Application, Conclusion and Evaluation, Evidence-based Discussion and Demonstration, and Communication)'. As a result of the study, students' perception of the five science core competencies increased statistically significantly at the significance level of 0.01 through inquiry classes and more than 93% of students recognized that their science core competencies improved through the classes. However, since the class of this study was conducted for a small number of students, it is difficult to generalize the effect of the class, and so it is necessary to conduct a quantitative study for many students.
Determination of sound source characteristics such as: sound volume, direction and distance to the source is one of the important techniques for unmanned systems like autonomous vehicles, robot systems and AI speakers. There are multiple methods of determining the direction and distance to the sound source, e.g., using a radar, a rider, an ultrasonic wave and a RF signal with a sound. These methods require the transmission of signals and cannot accurately identify sound sources generated in the obstructed region due to obstacles. In this paper, we have implemented and evaluated a method of detecting and identifying the sound in the audible frequency band by a method of recognizing the volume, direction, and distance to the sound source that is generated in the periphery including the invisible region. A cross-shaped based sound source recognition algorithm, which is mainly used for identifying a sound source, can measure the volume and locate the direction of the sound source, but the method has a problem with "blind spots". In addition, a serious limitation for this type of algorithm is lack of capability to determine the distance to the sound source. In order to overcome the limitations of this existing method, we propose a QRAS-based algorithm that uses rectangular-shaped technology. This method can determine the volume, direction, and distance to the sound source, which is an improvement over the cross-shaped based algorithm. The QRAS-based algorithm for the OSSD uses 6 AITDs derived from four microphones which are deployed in a rectangular-shaped configuration. The QRAS-based algorithm can solve existing problems of the cross-shaped based algorithms like blind spots, and it can determine the distance to the sound source. Experiments have demonstrated that the proposed QRAS-based algorithm for OSSD can reliably determine sound volume along with direction and distance to the sound source, which avoiding blind spots.

After participating in the Second Boer War in 1899, the Australian Army participated in world wars such as World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. To overcome the decline in the social recognition of soldiers and the continuous shortage of troops caused by the protracted war, the status and role of female personnel were expanded. The use of female manpower, which started as medical support during the Second Boer War, expanded to combat support missions such as communications, maintenance, driving, secret document management, and radar surveillance during World War II. After the Vietnam War, the Chiefs of Staff of the Australian Army, Navy and Air Force established a committee to expand women's participation in the military, improved service conditions for female personnel and supplemented regulations so that they were treated as soldiers, not women, and reached a turning point in expanding the role of female personnel in the Australian military. As a result, all combat positions, including special forces, were opened to women in 2014, and a plan was established to increase the proportion of women in each service by 2030. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in deep learning-based animal pose estimation, especially in the areas of animal behavior analysis and healthcare. However, existing animal pose estimation techniques do not perform well when body parts are occluded or not present. In particular, the occlusion of dog tail or ear might lead to a significant degradation of performance in pet behavior and emotion recognition. In this paper, to solve this intractable problem, we propose a simple yet novel framework for pet pose estimation where pet pose is predicted on an outpainted image where some body parts hidden outside the input image are reconstructed by the image inpainting network preceding the pose estimation network, and we performed a preliminary study to test the feasibility of the proposed approach. We assessed CE-GAN and BAT-Fill for image outpainting, and evaluated SimpleBaseline for pet pose estimation. Our experimental results show that pet pose estimation on outpainted images generated using BAT-Fill outperforms the existing methods of pose estimation on outpainting-less input image.
