Design of a Meander Type Microstrip Antenna in the 5GHz Band (5GHz 대역 미앤더 형태 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper, a meander-type microstrip patch antenna for application in 5GHz-hand is designed and fabricated To obtain enough bandwidth in VSWR≶2, the foam is inserted between substrate and ground plane, the coaxial probe source 1S used Antenna is simulated varing the length and width of meander line, the position of probe feeding and the thick of airgap. Later antenna is fabricated with optimizated antenna parameter. The measured result of Fabricated antenna obtained IGHz(l7.5%) bandwidth in VSWR≶2, the gain of 7.3-9.5dBi, Unidirectional pattern.

  • In this paper, we introduce a robot-assisted medical diagnostic system that enables remote ultrasound (US) imaging to be applied to the conventional telemedicine, which has been possible only with interviewing or a visual exam. In particular, a master-slave robot system is developed that ultrasonic diagnosis specialist can control the position and orientation of US probe in the remote place. The slave robot is designed to be compact, lightweight, and hand-held so that it can easily transfer to the remote healthcare center. Moreover, 6-degree-of-freedom (DOF) probe motion is possible by the robot design based on Stewart platform. The master device is also based on a similar structure of the slave robot. To connect master and slave system in the wide area network (WAN) environment, a hardware CODEC was developed. In this paper, we introduce the detail of each component and the results of the recent experiments conducted in the remote sites by the developed robotic ultrasound imaging system.

  • Wireless network is one of the 2010's most important security issues. As smartphone is popularize, the number of Wireless Internet users is really growing and wireless AP spring up everywhere. But most wireless AP haven't being managed properly in terms of security, Wireless Internet users also don't recognize important of security. This situation causes grave security threats. This paper design and analyze a new cyber attack whose it circulates malware via QR code and activates Mobile AP to induce service charge. The new vulnerability we suggest forces to activate Mobile AP of smartphone based on Android and responds to all Probe Request are generated around, and brings induction of service charge and communication problems in its train.

  • In this paper, we designed microstrip patch antenna to enhance the weak point of general microstrip patch antenna that has narrow bandwidth and analyzed that. To reduce reactance in probe feed antenna, capacitive gap added to the patch. Using single patch and auxiliary wire, makes dual frequency resonant. So bandwidth is improved and gain also becomes higher. To verify with experiment, PCS band antenna is designed, fabricated. For PCS band antenna, bandwidth is 180 MHz in VSWR<1.5 and gain is 8.6 dBi.

  • A new probing mechanism and an active compliance control algorithm have been developed for the in-circuit test of a PCB( printed circuit board ). Commercially available robotic probing devices are incapable of controlling contact force generated through rigid probe contacts with a solder joint, at high speed. The uncontrollable excessive contact force often brungs about some defects on the surface of the solder joint, which is plastically deformable over some limited contact force. This force also makes unstable contact motions resulting in unreliable test data. To overcome these problems, we propose that a serially connected macro and micro device with active compliance provide the best potential for a safe and reliable in-circuit test. This paper describes the design characteristics, modeling and control scheme of the newly proposed device. The experimental results clearly show the effectiveness of the proposed system.

Utilizing Natural and Engineered Peroxiredoxins As Intracellular Peroxide Reporters

  • It is increasingly apparent that nature evolved peroxiredoxins not only as $H_2O_2$ scavengers but also as highly sensitive $H_2O_2$ sensors and signal transducers. Here we ask whether the $H_2O_2$ sensing role of Prx can be exploited to develop probes that allow to monitor intracellular $H_2O_2$ levels with unprecedented sensitivity. Indeed, simple gel shift assays visualizing the oxidation of endogenous 2-Cys peroxiredoxins have already been used to detect subtle changes in intracellular $H_2O_2$ concentration. The challenge however is to create a genetically encoded probe that offers real-time measurements of $H_2O_2$ levels in intact cells via the Prx oxidation state. We discuss potential design strategies for Prx-based probes based on either the redoxsensitive fluorophore roGFP or the conformation-sensitive fluorophore cpYFP. Furthermore, we outline the structural and chemical complexities which need to be addressed when using Prx as a sensing moiety for $H_2O_2$ probes. We suggest experimental strategies to investigate the influence of these complexities on probe behavior. In doing so, we hope to stimulate the development of Prx-based probes which may spearhead the further study of cellular $H_2O_2$ homeostasis and Prx signaling.

  • The importance of fast and accurate body temperature measurement with a portable thermometer is increasing. In order to reduce the temperature measurement response time of the infrared ear thermometer, it is very important to develop a structure for a thermometer having an efficient heat transfer path. Most of the existing ear thermometers are single structures that do not consider thermal efficiency, which may delay measurement time and reduce measurement accuracy. Therefore, in this study, the upper part of the thermometer in contact with the ear is made of a thermally conductive material, and the lower part of the thermometer is made of a thermal barrier material so that heat can be concentrated on the infrared sensor of the thermometer by blocking the upper part of the heat. For the efficiency of production, it was intended to be manufactured through the double injection process, and for this purpose, in this paper, the optimal process parameters were derived through the double injection process analysis.

  • The previous KRISS profilometer design used an aluminum profile structure to which a bar-type reference mirror subsystem and the measurement subsystem are mounted. The earlier design suffers from low stiffness as shown from the first resonance mode of 45.1 Hz. The improved mechanical design we describe in this study replaces the aluminium profile structure with a granite structure of $1340{\times}220{\times}230$ in dimension. The finite element analysis results for the revised design show 0.001 degree in probe contact angle variation. The first resonance mode was computed to 91.2 Hz that is much better than 45.1 Hz from the previous design. We describe the improved design, structural analysis results and how these results would satisfy the form accuracy requirement of 1 ${\mu}m$ PV.

High-Frequency Modeling of Printed Spiral Coil Probes for Radio-Frequency Interference Measurement (무선주파수 간섭 측정을 위한 Printed Spiral Coil (PSC) 프로브의 고주파 모델링)

  • In this paper, a new high-frequency equivalent circuit model of printed spiral coils (PSCs) for radio-frequency interference (RFI) measurement has been proposed. To achieve high-frequency modeling, the proposed model consists of distributed components designed based on the design parameters of the PSCs. In addition, an analytic model for PSCs based on T-pi conversion has been proposed. To investigate the feasibility of the proposed model for RFI measurement, the transfer function between a microstrip line and a PSC has been extracted by combining the proposed model and mutual inductance. The self-impedances of the proposed model and the transfer function have been successfully validated using three-dimensional field simulation and measurements, revealing noticeable correlations up to a frequency of 6 GHz. The proposed model can be employed for high-frequency probe design and RFI noise estimation in the gigahertz range wireless communication bands.
