  • A pseudo-random sequence generated by using a primitive polynomial, trace function, and Legendre symbol has been researched in our previous work. Our previous sequence has some interesting features such as period, autocorrelation, and linear complexity. A pseudo-random sequence widely used in cryptography. However, from the aspect of the practical use in cryptographic systems sequence needs to generate swiftly. Our previous sequence generated by utilizing a primitive polynomial, however, finding a primitive polynomial requires high calculating cost when the degree or the characteristic is large. It’s a shortcoming of our previous work. The main contribution of this work is to find some relation between the generated sequence and irreducible polynomials. The purpose of this relationship is to generate the same sequence without utilizing a primitive polynomial. From the experimental observation, it is found that there are (p - 1)/2 kinds of polynomial, which generates the same sequence. In addition, some of these polynomials are non-primitive polynomial. In this paper, these relationships between the sequence and the polynomials are shown by some examples. Furthermore, these relationships are proven theoretically also.

  • An integrated process planning system can determine desirable operation sequences even if they have little experience in the design of multistage cold forging process. This system is composed of seven major modules such as input module, pre-design module, formability check module, forming sequence design module, forming analysis module, FEM verification module, and output module which are used independently or in all. The forming sequence for the part can be determined by means of primitive geometries such as cylinder, cone, convex, and concave. By utilizing this geometrical characteristics(diameter, height, and radius), the part geometry is expressed by a list of the primitive geometries. Accordingly, the forming sequence design is formulated as the search problem which starts with a billet geometry and finishes with a given product one. Using the developed system, the sequence drawing with all dimensions, which includes the dimensional tolerances and the proper sequence of operations for parts, is generated under the environment of AutoCAD. Several forming sequences generated by the planning system can be checked by the forming analysis module. The acceptable forming sequences can be verified further, using FE simulation.

  • This paper deals with an automated forming sequence design system by which designers can determine desirable operation sequences even if they have little experience in the design of cold forging process. The forming sequence design in the cold forging is very important and requires many kinds of technical and empirical knowledge. They system isproposed, which generates forming sequence plans for the multistage cold forging of axisymmtrical solid products. Since the process of metal forming can be considered as a transformation of geometry, treatment of the geometry of the product is a key in planning process. To recognize the geometry of the product section, section entity representation and primitive geometries were used. Section entity representation can be used for the calculation of maximum diameter, maximum height, and volume. Forming sequence for the part can be determined by means of primitive geometries such as cylinder, cone, convex, and concave. By utilizing this geometrical characteristics (diameter, height, and radius), the product geometry is expressed by a list of the priitive geometries. Accordingly the forming sequence design is formulated as the search problem which starts with a billet geometry and finishes with a given product one. Using the developed system, the sequence drawing with all dimensions, which includes the proper sequence of operations for the part, is generated under the environment of AutoCAD. Based on the results of forming sequence, process variables(strain, punch pressure, die inner pressure, and forming load) are determined.

  • Games gave the calculation method for the crosscorrelation function of a Kasami sequence and a No sequence that have been generated by the same primitive polynomial. In this paper, we calculate the crosscorrelation function of a Kasami sequence and a No sequence that have been generated by the same primitive polynomial with the periodic crosscorrelation function of two base sequences. Our method is different from the Games's method.

  • Detection of anomalous events from video streams is a challenging problem in many video surveillance applications. One such application that has received significant attention from the computer vision community is traffic video surveillance. In this paper, a Lossy Count based Sequential Temporal Pattern mining approach (LC-STP) is proposed for detecting spatio-temporal abnormal events (such as a traffic violation at junction) from sequences of video streams. The proposed approach relies mainly on spatial abstractions of each object, mining frequent temporal patterns in a sequence of video frames to form a regular temporal pattern. In order to detect each object in every frame, the input video is first pre-processed by applying Gaussian Mixture Models. After the detection of foreground objects, the tracking is carried out using block motion estimation by the three-step search method. The primitive events of the object are represented by assigning spatial and temporal symbols corresponding to their location and time information. These primitive events are analyzed to form a temporal pattern in a sequence of video frames, representing temporal relation between various object's primitive events. This is repeated for each window of sequences, and the support for temporal sequence is obtained based on LC-STP to discover regular patterns of normal events. Events deviating from these patterns are identified as anomalies. Unlike the traditional frequent item set mining methods, the proposed method generates maximal frequent patterns without candidate generation. Furthermore, experimental results show that the proposed method performs well and can detect video anomalies in real traffic video data.

  • This paper describes interactive computer procedures for design the forming sequences in cold forging. This system is implemented on the personal computer and its environment is a commercial AutoCAD system. The programming language. AutoLISP, was used for the configuration of the system. Since the process of metal forming can be considered as a transformation of geometry, treatment of the geometry of the part is a key in process planning. To recognize the part section geometry, the section entity representation, the section coordinate-redius representation and the section primitive geometru were adopted. • An action-selection-mechanism(ASM) has been proposed to work as a fully connected finite state machine to deal with sequential behaviors as well as to allow a state in the task program to migrate to any state in the task, in which a primitive node in association with a state and its transitional conditions can be easily inserted/deleted. Also, such a primitive node can be learned by a shortest path-finding-based reinforcement learning technique. Specifically, we define a behavioral motivation as having state-dependent value as a primitive node for action selection, and then sequentially construct a network of behavioral motivations in such a way that the value of a parent node is allowed to flow into a child node by a releasing mechanism. A vertical path in a network represents a behavioral sequence. Here, such a tree for our proposed ASM can be newly generated and/or updated whenever a new behavior sequence is learned. To show the validity of our proposed ASM, experimental results of a mobile robot performing the task of pushing- a- box-in to- a-goal(PBIG) will be illustrated.

  • The primitive polynomial on GF(q) is used in the area of the scrambler, the error correcting code and decode, the random generator and the cipher, etc. The algorithm that generates efficiently the primitive polynomial on GF(q) was proposed by A.D. Porto. The algorithm is a method that generates the sequence of the primitive polynomial by repeating to find another primitive polynomial with a known primitive polynomial. In this paper, we propose the algorithm that is improved in the A.D. Porto algorithm. The running rime of the A.D. Porto a1gorithm is O($\textrm{km}^2$), the running time of the improved algorithm is 0(m(m+k)). Here, k is gcd(k, $q^m$-1). When we find the primitive polynomial with m odor, it is efficient that we use the improved algorithm in the condition k, m>>1.

  • This paper presents a parallel processing searcher structure for the initial synchronization of a direct sequence ultra-wideband (DS-UWB) system, which is suitable for the digital implementation of baseband functionalities with a 1.32 Gsample/s chip rate analog-to-digital converter. An initial timing acquisition algorithm and a data demodulation method are also studied. The proposed searcher effectively acquires initial symbol and frame timing during the preamble transmission period. A hardware efficient receiver structure using 24 parallel digital correlators for binary phase-shift keying DS-UWB transmission is presented. The proposed correlator structure operating at 55 MHz is shared for correlation operations in a searcher, a channel estimator, and the demodulator of a RAKE receiver. We also present a pseudo-random noise sequence generated with a primitive polynomial, $1+x^2+x^5$, for packet detection, automatic gain control, and initial timing acquisition. Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed parallel processing searcher employing the presented pseudo-random noise sequence outperforms that employing a preamble sequence in the IEEE 802.15.3a DS-UWB proposal.
