A Study in Preparation of $^{113m}In$ colloid as Scanning Agent and it's Organ Distribution in Rats (주사용(走査用) $^{113m}In$ 교질(膠質)의 조제(調製) 및 흰쥐에서의 장기분포(臟器分布)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • The newly developed diagnostic method with application of $^{113}Sn-^{113m}In$ cow system ($^{113}Sn:\;T\frac{1}{2}$ 118 days, $^{113m}In:\;T\frac{1}{2}$ 1.7 hrs, 390 Kev, Single ${\gamma}$) has the remarkable advantages such as increased diagnostic ability by single large dose administration of $^{113m}In$ with no subsequent radiation hazard and shortened examining time. We reformed the research of following scope with the use of developed $^{113}Sn-^{113m}In$ cow (25 mCi) generator: The sizes of particles produced under various conditions were investigated, and possibility for application to the scannings of various organs such as brain, liver, lung, bone marrow and blood pool etc. were studied. Results: $^{113m}InCl_3$ solution eluted from diluted HCl solution (pH 1.5) passed through $^{113}Sn-^{113m}In$ generator, and there can be produced various sized particles of colloidal indium. And there observed the state of distribution of $^{113m}In$ in each organ which showed many differences according to the particle sizes of colloidal indium. The results are stated as follows: 1. The adjustment of pH is the most important factor in making the desirable particle size of colloidal indium. The colloid for blood pool showed the highest level as 7.1%/gm blood, at pH 1.7, the colloid of pH 3.5 for liver scanning showed the highest level, 88.4%, in the liver, the colloid pH 6 showed the highest level, 3.1%, in the spleen, and the colloid of pH 11.0 showed the highest level, 85.3%/gm, in the lung. 2. The colloid for liver scanning made with NaCl-NaOH system showed the highest liver uptake at pH 7.2, and at either higher or lower pH than 7.2 showed decrease of liver uptake more or less. 3. The activity of $^{113m}In$ eluted through $^{113}Sn-^{113m}In$ generator indicated over 90% in the initial 4 ml, and particularly 88.1%-86.0% in the initial 2 ml. 4. The incubation time, tempertaure and mechanical irritation related to colloid formation and coating of colloid were not the definite condition of influence.

Survey on the Manufacturing Process of Traditional Meju for and of Kanjang(Korean Soy Sauce) (한국 전통간장 및 메주 제조공정에 관한 조사 연구)

  • Meju is a basis for manufacturing Kanjang, Meju was traditionally prepared at home by different types of process depending on the regional area. It is necessary to standardize and simplify the process of Meju-preparation for Kanjang of good quality. For these purposes, the process of Meju and Kangjang making as well as analysis of commercial Kanjang, were compared. Generally, traditional Meju was prepared by steeping and dehulling the whole soybean. After steeping for 24hr. soybean absorbed water up to 110~120% of its weight. The soaked soybeans were steamed for 2hr. and cooled to 5$0^{\circ}C$. Cooked soybeans were crushed down to the size of 10~15 mesh and molded. Molded soybeans were dried for 2 days in the air, hung up by rice straw and fermented for 20~30 days under natural environmental condition. On the other hand, commercial soybean koji was made of defatted soybean. Defatted soybeans were steeped in water and steamed for 15~30min at 0.7~1.2 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$. Steamed and defatted soybean was cooled to 4$0^{\circ}C$. Separately, wheat power was roasted at 200~30$0^{\circ}C$ by wheat roaster. Mixture of steamed defatted soybean and roasted wheat powder (5/5 to 7/3) were inoculated with 0.1~0.2% Aspergillus sojae and incubated for 2 days at 3$0^{\circ}C$ with occasional stirring. Chemical analysis showed that traditional soy sauces contained the following composition: NaCl, 20.12~25.42%; total nitrogen, 0.64~0.91%; pure extract, 9.47~11.20%; color, 2.34~4.01; pH, 4.92~5.12. Commercial products contained: NaCl, 15.20~17.19%; total nitrogen, 1.25~1.40%; pure extract, 18.17~21.47%; color, 5.41~21.12; pH, 4.51~4.66 and ethalnol. 2.97~3.12%. Organoleptic test on taste, color and flavor of traditional and commercial soysauce indicated that most of the consumers prefer commercial products to traditional products. Preferrable formulation of Kanjang based on organoleptic test of soy sauces was assumed as containing; NaCl, 16.0%; total nitrogen, 1.40%; pure extract, 19.97%; color, 12.98; pH, 4.61 and ethanol, 2.96.

An Retrospective Analysis of 1549 patients under the Cooperative Medical Care consulted to the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in a Korean medical hospital (한방병원 침구과로 협진의뢰된 한양방 협진 환자 1,549명에 대한 후향적 분석)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study is to give a statistical basis for the characteristics of patients who received cooperative medical care after being referred from Western medical departments to the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in a Korean medical hospital. Methods : The request records were searched for cooperative medical treatment at the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in a Korean medical hospital between September 1st, 2011 and August 31, 2016, based on the Order Communication system(OCS). The records were reviewed and retrospectively analyzed according to the patient's general characteristics, the chief diagnosis code based on the 7th Korean standard classification of diseases(KCD-7) before and after the cooperative medical care in the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, and the actual treatment measures which patients received as a result of the cooperative medical care. Results : Among the 2702 records, 1549 patients were included in the analysis. The male to female ratio was 1 : 1.17. Sexagenarians formed the highest age group and the number of patients whose age was over 50 was 1176(75.92 %). The surgery department requested the cooperative care from the department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion for the highest number of patients, 1194(77.08 %). When analysing specific medical departments, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Neurology, Otorhinolaryngology, and Physical medicine and rehabilitation followed. The frequency of chief diagnosis code used before the cooperative medical care was in the order of I, C, G, S, and M code, from highest to lowest. The order of the codes after the cooperative medical care was the same. Acupuncture treatment was the most frequently-used measure after the cooperative medical care. Following were infrared, moxibustion, transfer, herbal acupuncture, cupping, electroacupuncture, and so on. Conclusion : This study provides a statistical basis for the demands placed on the Department of Acupunture and Moxibustion for cooperative medical care with the Western medical department. Based on the present condition of cooperative medical care, more preparation and effort is required for its activation.

  • The Yttria Partially Stabilized Zirconia powder was prepared by spontaneous precipitation method using $ZrOCl_2{\cdot}8H_O-YCl_33{\cdot}6H_2O$ solution as a starting materials. The optimal experimental conditions such as concentration and pH of starting solutions, the amounts of stabilizer $Y_2O_3$ used, and sintered temperature were carefully studied. The best condition for synthesizing $ZrO_2$ was experimentally selected and applied throughout this study for the preparation of the 3 mole% $Y_2O_3$ partially stabilized zirconia, 3YSZ. The physical properties of 3YSZ was examined by XRD, Raman, DT A, and SEM. The structural transition from pure monoclinic high temperature $ZrO_2$ to tetragonal room temperature 3YSZ was made possible by the added amount of $Y_2O_3$ in the $ZrO_2+Y_2O_3$ system. All Raman Spectrum band appeared in the lower wave numbers rather than in higher wave numbers as structure changes from monoclinic to tetragonal.

  • Perovskite-type oxide $La_{1-x}Sr_xCo_{1-y}Fe_yO_{3-{\delta}}$ sols were prepared by sol-gel method using $La(NO_3)_3{\cdot}xH_2O$, $Sr(NO_3)_2$, $Co(NO_3)_2{\cdot}6H_2O$ and $Fe(NO_3)_3{\cdot}9H_2O$ as starting materials. The properties of the perovskite-type oxide sols were investigated by viscometer, FT-IR, TG-DTA and XRD. The prepared sols showed 1.16 cp in average viscosity, and a strong acidic condition of pH 0.5, irrespective of composition of the starting materials. The viscosity of sols at the same volume decreases, but the gelation time of sols, at which the sol viscosity increases rapidly, increases when increasing La concentration in composition of starting materials.

  • The aim of this study is to produce cokes which can be used for the production of ferroalloy, for this purpose, domestic anthracite mixed with plastic was sintered at various condition. The combustion and physical properties of anthracite and plastic, coal separation, and the influence of factors on the strength of coke were investigated. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The three kinds of anthracite from the Samcheok region contained 25 to 30% ash of $100{\mu}m$ over size, and have the caloric value of 5,205 cal/g(TaeAn), 4,893 cal/g(JangSung), 4,873cal/g(KyongDong). 2. The recommendable conditions for heavy-fluid separation of the Samcheok coal are to set the specific gravity of heavy fluid to 2.4 and control the size of coal to $35{\sim}140mesh$. 3. It is concluded that phenolic resin powder, liquefied phenolic resin, SAN, and melamine resin can be used as a binder for the anthracite cokes, from the thermal analysis of various plastics. Especially, the liquefied phenolic resin was considered as the most suitable binder as it would simplify the process.

  • The dnrF gene, responsible for conversion of aklavinone to $\varepsilon$-rhodomycinone via C-11 hydroxylation, was mapped in the daunorubicin gene cluster of Streptomyces peucetius subsp. caesius ATCC 27952, close to drrAB, one of the anthracycline resistance genes. To characterize the enzymatic properties of the aklavinone 11-hydroxylase, the dnrF gene was overexpressed in Escherchia coli. The pET-22(+) plasmid which has the T7 promoter under the control of lacUV5 gene was used for the overexpression of the dnrF gene, and the recombinant plasmid pET213 that contains the dnrF gene linked to the T7 promoter of pET-22b(+) was introduced into the E. coli BL2l. When the expression of the dnrF gene was induced by IPTG at the final concentration of 1 mM, the induced protein could be detected in SDS-PAGE only in insoluble precipitate. The insoluble protein was electroeluted from the gel and used for the preparation of antiserum in mice. Various culture conditions were tested to maximize the expression of the aklavinone 11-hydroxylase in soluble form. The enzymatic activity was checked by the bioconversion experiment, and the protein was confirmed by the SDS-PAGE and the Western blot analysis. From the analysis of the data, it was concluded that the culture induced with IPTG at the final concentration of 0.02 mM at 37$^{\circ}C$ yielded the best productivity of active form of enzyme.

Effects of Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) Seed Powder on Bone Resorption in Ovariectomized Rats (난소적출 흰쥐에서 홍화(Carthamus tinctorius L.)씨 분말이 골흡수에 미치는 영향)

  • Safflower has been cultivated in Korea and thought to have excellent effects on bone in oriental medicine and folk remedy and has been taken for a long time. Safflower is thought to be helpful for the development and sustenance of bones according to the result of recent assay of its components. Otherwise, any reliable experimental data have not been suggested so far. We have carried out this study to examine the prophylactic effects of safflower-seed-powder on the prevention of osteoporosis induced by the ovariectomy 12 Weeks-old Sprague-Dawley rats weighing about 230 g was kept in the experimental condition and used in this study. Animals were taken 0.3 g of safflower-seed-powder once a day for 1, 3, 5, and 7 weeks after ovariectomizing both ovaries and observed the fine structure of tibia. Tissues were fixed with traditional SEM preparation methods and decalcified for 10 hours with 10% nitric acid and dehydration, drying, and gold-coating were followed by the routine procedures and observed with scanning electron microscope (Hitachi, S-450). Loss of bone was started just after ovariectomy and thickness of bone from the medullary cavity to the compact bone was reduced and the extension of medullary cavity was serious in the control group of 7 weeks. Experimental groups taken safflower-seed-powder showed similar findings from 1 week to 7 weeks. These results suggest that the safflower-seed-powder is thought to be efficient for the prevention of osteoporosis owing to the deficiency of female sex hormone.

Preparation of PZT Powders by Hydrothermal Synthesis : Effects of Starting Materials and the Agitation of Substrate on Powder Characteristics (수열합성법에 의한 PZT 분말제조 : 출발물질과 기질의 교반이 분말특성에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study PZT powders were prepared with shapes of cubic by hydrothermal synthesis with various starting materials, and the sintering characteristics of the powders were investigated. The particle shapes were cubic regardless of starting materials, but the mean size of particles formed using $Pb(NO_3)_2$, $Ti(OC_4H_9)_4$ and $Zr(OC_4H_9)_4$ was relatively smaller than that of particles prepared from other starting materials. Agitation of the feedstock during hydrothermal reaction results in decreasing the required reaction temperature for the formation of nuclei, and in increasing the size of product particles. XRD results showed that the major phase of PZT crystal powders was a tetragonal phase at the Zr to Ti ratio of 40 to 60, or a rhombohedral phase at its ratio of 60 to 40. The density of a sintered body made from the hydrothermal powders in PbO surrounding varied with sintering temperatures and with periods of sintering time. The experimental results also showed that the optimum sintering condition was at $1150^{\circ}C$ for a 2hr sintering, and that the density of a sintered body was $7.6g/cm^3$.

Preparation Condition and Product Quality of Precooked Redbean Porridge (즉석팥죽 제조를 위한 가공조건 및 제품의 품질)

  • Precooked powder of redbean porridge (RP) was prepared by the series of process extrusion, drying, milling and blending with a mixture of whole redbean flour and corn starch and others. The optimum process and quality of products for RP were investigated. After extrusion under the moisture content 24 to 26%, twin screw speed 350 rpm, extrusion temperature 150 to $155^{\circ}C$ and feed rate 60 kg/hr, the product had a higher quality with its natural redbean flavor/color. During the extrusion process, extrusion temperature and specific mechanical energy increased from 150 to $198^{\circ}C$ and from 134 to 144 kwh/ton respectively, as the amount of addition water decreased from 6 to 2 kg/hr. By the hot air drying of redbean extrudate (RE). it could be dried below to 4% moisture content, of which level considered as an optimal moisture content for anti-caking of the powdered product, at $80^{\circ}C$ for 4hrs and at $100^{\circ}C$ for 1.5 hrs respectively. In the sieve analysis of extrudate powder, when the product milled through a mesh size of 0.5 mm or 1.0 mm, about 80% or 65% of the feed was passed a 65 mesh screen respectively. Moisture absorption of final blended products was formed a cake under 100% of relative humidity after 13 hrs of storage. As the amount of RE powder reduced, the flavor score of products decreased by sensory evaluation of products prepared by the different ratio of RE powder, corn starch and sugar.
