In this study, an optimization for the production of water emulsion was designed by adding an extract of wheat sprout, which is known to contain a large amount of antioxidants. The central composite design of reaction surface analysis method (CCD-RSM) was used for the optimization process. The amount of emulsifier, emulsification time, and added amount of wheat sprout extract were selected as independent variables based on our preliminary experiments. The mean droplet size (MDS), viscosity, and emulsion stability index (ESI) were set as the responses to evaluate the stability of the emulsion. For each independent variable, the P-value and coefficient of determination were evaluated to verify the reliability of the experiments. From the result of CCD-RSM, optimum conditions for the emulsification were determined as 23.6 min, 7.7 wt.%, and 3.9 wt.% for the emulsification time, amount of emulsifier, and amount of sprout, respectively. From the optimized condition obtained, MDS, viscosity, and ESI after 7 days from reaction were estimated as 252.3 nm, 616.7 cP, and 88.7%, respectively. The overall satisfaction was 0.9137, which supported the validity of the experiments, and the error rate was measured at 0.5% or less by advancing the experiments. Therefore, an optimized process for producing an emulsion by adding the malt extract was designed by the CCD-RSM.
A C-46 transport aircraft, which can be thought of as a large cultural heritage item from the modern period, was subjected to paint analysis and conservation treatment in preparation for its exhibition. The C-46 is the first aircraft ever dispatched to overseas combat zones by the Korean Air Force and carried out missions during the Vietnam War. The aircraft is mainly made of aluminum and shows signs of corrosion on its surface, including pitting and etching, as well as gray and white powdery attachments. In the analysis of the paint, diatomite(SiO2·nH2O) was confirmed in the red paint, titanium dioxide(TiO2) was identified in the white paint, black iron oxide(Fe3O4) was detected in the black paint, and colcothar(Fe3O4) mixed with putty was confirmed in the blue paint. Infrared spectroscopy revealed the use of alkyd resin in the paint on the main body and nitrocellulose in the Taegeuk pattern. During the conservation treatment, mechanical cleaning, such as sanding, was conducted to remove paint and varnish from the surface. Corrosion was removed by sanding and cleaning with chemical solvents, and new paints and varnishes were applied. Through the paint analysis and conservation treatment, the aircraft was made available for exhibition in a stable condition.
A chimi(a roof ridge decoration) excavated from the Busosan Temple Site in Buyeo was restored in 1978 at the Buyeo Museum. The gypsum restoration material had deteriorated over time and part of it was seriously damaged and unable to bear the weight of the chimi. The chimi features traces of emergency treatment revealing that the inside of the body and some portions of the tail were reinforced several times using epoxy resin. A condition survey performed in preparation for its transfer for an exhibition found the lower body and wings of the chimi to be highly vulnerable and it was determined that the chimi needed further restoration. The dismantling of the chimi for restoration revealed several elements that provide clues to the production techniques applied by its makers, so they were subjected to inspection. This study explores the production techniques used in the chimi from the Busosan Temple Site that were revealed during the process of dismantling it for restoration. The chimi was inspected using 3D scanning and its rigid vertical shape was restored to a natural form based on the production techniques identified during the dismantling process. The existing restoration material was replaced to improve durability. 3D printed elements were produced based on 3D modelling and were joined to the original chimi to correct its shape and fill in the missing parts, restoring the chimi to its original appearance.

In order to increase the electrochemical performance of thermal battery anode, LIFT anode having the same weight but a larger lithium content in electrodes was fabricated by mixing lithium, iron and titanium. By applying these electrodes, a single cell and a thermal battery were prepared, and the effect of LIFT anode on electrochemical performance was evaluated. The LIFT-applied single cell presented a better cell performance than LIFe-applied single cell at 500℃ and 550℃. The discharge performance of LIFT-applied single cell, which included the operating time (787s), specific capacity (1,683 Asg-1), and electrode utilization (80.7%), was improved collectively compared to the LIFe applied single cell (736s, 1,245 As g-1, and 74.6%) at 500℃. As the discharge progressed, the internal resistance of LIFT anode decreased, because the lithium migration path was formed due to the presence of large titanium particles among iron particles. These results were analyzed in terms of the microstructure of electrode using SEM. Energy density of LIFT-applied single cell also increased by 10% to 142.1 Wh kg-1 compared to that of LIFe-applied single cell (127.4 Wh kg-1). In addition, the LIFT-applied single cell presented a stable discharge performance for 6,500s without a short circuit which could occur by molten lithium under an open circuit voltage condition with a high pressure (4 kgf cm-2). As observed in the high temperature thermal battery performance tests, the voltage and specific capacity of LIFT-applied thermal battery are superior to those of LIFe-applied thermal batteries, indicating that the energy density of LIFT-applied thermal batteries should remarkably increase.

An eVTOL aircraft, which is required to operate with low pollution/low noise in urban environments, mostly use battery-powered electric propulsion systems as power sources, not traditional propulsion systems such as reciprocating or turbine engines. Accordingly, certification preparation for the electric propulsion system and securing the safety of the electric propulsion system, are important issues. In the U.S., special technical standards equivalent to FAR Part 33 were issued to certify electric engines, and in Europe, various special conditions were established to certify electric propulsion systems. Thus, in Korea, the technical standards for the electric propulsion system for eVTOL aircraft must also be prepared in line with the U.S. and Europe. In this paper, SC E-19, the technical standard of the electric/hybrid propulsion system (EHPS) in special conditions, was analyzed. Additionally, securing the safety of the electric propulsion system of the aircraft are proposed, through the collaboration of SC E-19 technical standards with the existing aircraft safety evaluation procedure ARP 4761. Finally, through a case study of the Ehang 184 electric propulsion system, it has been confirmed that the proposed safety assurance method is applicable at the aircraft level.
In this experiment, an α-Al2O3 ceramic hollow fiber was used as a support, and a hydrogen membrane plated with Pd and Pd-Ag was manufactured through electroless plating. The Pd-Ag membrane was annealed at 500℃ for 10 h to form an alloy of Pd and Ag. It was confirmed that it became a Pd-Ag alloy through EDS (Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy) analysis. Also, the thickness of the Pd, Pd-Ag plating layer was measured to be about 8.98 and 9.29 ㎛ through SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) analysis respectively. Hydrogen permeation experiment was performed using the H2 gas and mixed gas (H2 and N2) in the range of 350~450℃ and 1-4 bar using the prepared hydrogen membrane. Under the H2 gas condition, the Pd and Pd-Ag membrane has a flux of up to 21.85 and 13.76 mL/cm2·min and also separation factors of 1216 and 361 were obtained in the mixed gas at 450℃ and 4 bar conditions respectively.

In this study, we evaluated the targeting of prostate cancer (PCa) using [18F]Florastamin in non-clinical study, for the purpose of therapeutic monitoring of [177Lu]Ludotadipep, a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical for PCa, [18F]Florastamin/[177Lu]Ludotadipep was co-administered to a single-individual prostate tumor bearing mouse model, mimicking clinical condition. Considering the difference in half-life of the two isotopes (18F or 177Lu), image scan of whole-body autoradiography was performed at 24 or 48 h after preparation of frozen section, respectively. Then, it was confirmed whether they showed the same targeting efficiency for the area of tumor. A tumor xenograft model was prepared using PSMA-overexpressing PC3-PIP prostate cancer cells. [18F]Florastamin [111 MBq (3 mCi) in 100 µL]/177Lu]Ludotadipep [3.7 MBq (100 µCi) in 100 µL] was co-administered through the tail vein, and 2 hours after administration, the mice were frozen, and after freezing for 24 hours, whole-body cryosection was performed at 24 h after freezing. Image scanning using cryosection was performed after 24 or 48 hours after freezing, respectively. In the scan image after 24 hours, tumor uptake of [18F] Florastamin/[177Lu]Ludotadipep were simultaneously observed specific uptake in the tumor. In the scan image after 48 hours in the same section, signal of 18F was lost by decay of radioisotope, and specific uptake image for [177Lu]Ludotadipep was observed in the tumor. Uptake of [177Lu]Ludotadipep was specific to the same tumor region where [18F]Florastamin/[177Lu]Ludotadipep was uptake. These results suggested that [18F]Florastamin showed the same tumor uptake efficiency to PCa as [177Lu]Ludotadipep, and effective therapeutic monitoring is expected to be enable using [18F]Florastamin during [177Lu]Ludotadipep therapy for PCa.
We investigated the intake trends of street foods for middle school, high school and colleges students through the survey study. In addition, the factors affecting the students' consumption of street foods and their perception toward hygiene status of street vendor were studied. The levels of total aerobic bacteria, coliform groups and enterobacteriaceae in Kimbab, eomuk, and eomuk-kukmul were counted using 3M petrifilms. More than ninety seven % of the respondents had experienced street foods. All the respondents ate street foods 1 to 5 times a month. Forty percent of the respondent stated that 'good taste' and 'time-saving convenience' were their reason for eating the street foods. Their favorite foods were ddokbokgi and various fried foods. All the students responded that frying oil, drinking water, and soy sauce as well as the street vendors' attire and their cooking tools in street vendor were unsanitary. Forty percent of the respondents ranked frying oil as the most unsanitary substance. Eighty percent of the respondents responded that an enforcement of hygiene should be imposed on the street foods vendor. There were significant differences (p<0.001) among the student's age in the opinion related to the reasons of eating street foods, hygiene enforcement, existence of street foods and interest of hygiene status of street foods. High correlation (p<0.05) between the frequency of street foods and snack intakes was shown, regardless of student's age. The result shows that those who eat snacks more than once a day tend to eat street foods more frequently. Aerobic plate counts in Kimbab in 5 different vendors exceeded 10$^5$/g and contamination levels of enterobacteriaceae or coliform in Kimbab exceeded more than 10$^3$/g, which did not satisfy the microbiological standards. In conclusion, although the respondents thought that the sanitation of street foods was poor, most of them want the street food vendor to be maintained with better hygiene condition. This indicated that the regulation for safe street foods should be enforced and educational information about the preparation and serving for safe street foods should be provided to street food vendor.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the accuracy of digital mounting with occlusal scans in the interocclusal record for a full-mouth fixed prosthetic treatment condition. Materials and Methods: The entire maxillary teeth were prepared in a dentiform model and attached to an articulator in maximum intercuspation. Temporary crowns were fabricated and occlusion was adjusted. After scanning the arch with tooth preparation, digital mounting was performed using an occlusion scan of the anterior or posterior teeth areas. The accuracy of the positioned jaw relation was evaluated three-dimensionally through positional deviation and angular error of the occlusal plane. Afterwards, the same procedure was repeated on the partially edentulous model to evaluate the accuracy of digital interocclusal record. Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney U test were used for statistical analysis, and the significance level was set at 0.05. Results: There was no significant difference in the positional error at the center of the arch in the digitally established jaw relation depending on the scan area used and remaining tooth conditions (P = 0.53). The angular error of the occlusal plane was larger when the anterior teeth were used as the overlapping area, and a smaller error value was observed when both posterior teeth were used as the overlapping area (P < 0.001). Conclusion: The use of bilateral posterior occlusal scans is recommended when digitally mounting the jaw relation established with temporary teeth during full-mouth fixed prosthetic treatment.

This work studies the synthesis of birnessite (${\delta}-MnO_2$), a catalyst of oxidative-coupling reactions, from the powder of spent alkaline manganese batteries (SABP, <8 mesh) and evaluate its reactivity for 1-naphthol (1-NP) removals. Manganese oxides using commercial reagents ($MnSO_4$, $MnCl_2$) and the acid birnessite (A-Bir) by McKenzie method were also synthesized, and their crystallinity and reactivity for 1-NP were compared with one another. 96% Mn and 98% Zn were extracted from SABP by acid leaching at the condition of solid/liquid (S/L) ratio 1:10 in $1.0M\;H_2SO_4+10.5%\;H_2O_2$ at $60^{\circ}C$. From the acid leaching solution, 69% (at pH 8) and 94.3% (pH>13) of Mn were separated by hydroxide precipitation. Optimal OH/Mn mixing ratio (mol/mol) for the manganese oxide (MO) synthesis by alkaline (NaOH) hydrothermal techniques was 6.0. Under this condition, the best 1-NP removal efficiency was observed and XRD analysis confirmed that the MOs are corresponding to birnessite. Kinetic constants (k, at pH 6) for the 1-NP removals of the birnessites obtained from Mn recovered at pH 8 (${Mn^{2+}}_{(aq)}$) and pH>13 ($Mn(OH)_{2(s)}$) are 0.112 and $0.106min^{-1}$, respectively, which are similar to that from $MnSO_4$ reagent ($0.117min^{-1}$). The results indicated that the birnessite prepared from the SABP as a raw material could be used as an oxidative-coupling catalyst for removals of trace phenolic compounds in soil and water, and propose the recycle scheme of SAB for the birnessite synthesis.
