  • The author observed a case of ectopic erupted maxillary second premolars and impacted mandibular second premolars due to premature loss of the primary second molars. The treatments were done as follows: 1. In the maxilla, the teeth arrangement problem was corrected with removal of the ectopic erupted second premolars. 2. In the mandible, normal dentition was established with surgical removal of the left second premolar and removal of the permanent first molar in right side combined by orthodontic therapy.

  • This report demonstrates a case of tooth autotransplantation into the oroantral fistula site after extraction. Oroantral fistula can be developed when maxillary molar or premolar is extracted in case the root of tooth closed to or inside maxillary sinus. In most of cases, this would heal spontaneously without any interventions. Sometimes, many procedures including flap closure would be used judging from perforating size and previous inflammation. Although fistula size of this case is not that large, closure with tooth autotransplanted has successfully accomplished. So this report will discuss about several clinical aspects.

  • The patient, 21 years and 3 months female, complained of protrusion of lower face. There was severe procumbency of upper & lower anterior teeth. Cephalometric analysis revealed that the anteroposterior jaw relationship was normal, but the teeth was foreward on their respective basal bones, so diagnosed as bimaxillary dental prognathism. The patient underwent extraction of four Ist premolar and was treated with multibanded & direct bonding system. After 14 months, She gained good interdigitation of buccal segment and attractive facial profile.

  • The purposes of this study were to clarify the effect of tooth size and arch size upon the crowding. 175 upper casts were measured and following conclusions were made. 1. Tooth size, intermolar width, 2nd premolar width of crowded group were not significantly different from those of noncrowded groups. 2. Intercanine width, arch length of noncrowded group were significantly larger than crowded group. 3. Multiple regression equations were derived by using tooth size, arch perimeter, arch length, intermolar width.

  • The central odontogenic fibroma is a rare benign neoplasm, and considered to be derived from the mesenchymal tissue of dental origin. It is a poorly defined tumor of the jawbones which has only been infrequently reported in the literature. We report a histologically proven case of simple-type central odontogenic fibroma, which affected the left canine-premolar region of the maxilla in a 52-year-old woman.
