  • The objective of this survey is to characterize personal magnetic field exposure of the general population in Korea. The participants of the survey on magnetic field exposure were selected randomly in some occupations. The participant wore the magnetic field meter for about 25∼28 hours and the data were stored in the meter. Because this is a preliminary for the main survey, it was done with 36 participants only. For the main survey, about 400 subjects by occupation will be done. The statistics of the 24-hour exposure data are the major concern of this survey However the survey provided the opportunity to analyze exposures corresponding to different types of activities. It was analyzed by separating periods of time corresponding to the following activities: entire 24-hour period, in bed, at work and by occupation.

  • Purpose: In this study the time point of effects that repeat exposure to simulation-based nursing training has on stress, interest in learning, and problem-solving abilities were identified. Methods: Participants for this study were 75 nursing college students in Seoul. In a preliminary survey data were collected and measured for the general characteristics, stress, interest in learning, and problem-solving abilities of the students. Then, stress was assessed before performance of each of four-rounds of simulation training scenarios. After each simulation round, interest in learning and problem-solving abilities were assessed. Results: With respect to stress, no significant differences were found when comparing the results of the preliminary survey to those of each of the simulation-based training exercises. For the sub-items of interest in learning, interest in nursing knowledge and interest in clinical training significantly increased between the preliminary survey and the $4^{th}$ survey. Interest in lab training increased significantly at the $1^{st}$ survey. Problem solving abilities showed a significant increase from the preliminary at each of the survey points. Conclusion: Increasing the exposure of nursing students to simulation-based training enhances their interest in learning and problem-solving abilities. Therefore it is necessary to have education strategies that includes various simulation experiences for students.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop the Job Esteem Scale for Korean Nurses (JES-KN) and verify its validity and reliability. Methods: Preliminary items were based on the attributes and indicators elicited from a concept analysis study on Korean nurses' job-esteem. The final preliminary tool for the main survey was confirmed through the content validity test of 10 experts and preliminary survey of 20 hospital nurses. The final preliminary scale was used on 350 hospital nurses in the scale testing phase for the main survey designed to test the validity and reliability of the scale. Results: The final scale consisted of 28 items and 6 factors, these factor explained 66.6% of the total variance. The correlation between the total score and factors ranged from .64 and .84, validating that each sub-factor is suitable to explain job esteem. The correlation coefficient between this scale and the Job Satisfaction Scale for Clinical Nurses ranged from .41 to .70, and the internal consistency for the scale using Cronbach's α for the total items was .94. Conclusion: The JES-KN is a valid and reliable tool that reflects the reality of clinical sites accordingly. The JES-KN may well be used effectively to assess and evaluate the job esteem of Korean nurses.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest complementary measures to the statute legalizing the expansion of living space to balcony, by means of survey on the recognition and preference of preliminary applicants for new apartments. The survey was done on 130 preliminary applicants who visited 3 model houses opened in Cheongju in June to July, 2006. Conclusions are as follows. (1) Most of preliminary applicants knew that the expansion of living space to balcony were legalized, but were not quite aware of legal details, so that more active publicity is needed by the government. In addition, if the government has a plan to impose tax to expanded space, it has to make clear the definition of the balcony space. (2) Preliminary applicants wanted space expansion of living room, main bed room and children's bed room in order, which implies that constructors have to suggest variety of expansion plans overpassing simple space expansion. (3) Preliminary applicants attached importance on the safety of expanded space. The management office is recommended to have the right to superintend its safety after construction.

  • In this study we analyzed the relationship between sensibility image and the needs to purchase, by studying the relations between the brand name of the beer which consumers recognize and the needs to purchase, and by extracting the sensibility image from the consumers about how they feel about the advertisement. For the survey we first chose 30 sensibility related adjectives from the preliminary survey and chose the 6 most selected sensibility related adjectives by showing beer advertisements from the 3 leading companies. In the main survey we used 7 point scale measurement to evaluate the sensibility scale in each advertisement using the 6 sensibility related adjectives we chose from the preliminary survey, such as cleanness, coolness, pleasantness, softness, easiness, and studied why they feel that way about the advertisement. We hope to contribute on establishing the advertising strategy of the company, based on sensibility image which the consumers are in favor of.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a measurement tool for a positive nursing organizational culture and to verify its reliability and validity. Methods: A conceptual framework and construct factors were extracted through an extensive literature review and in-depth interviews with nurses. The final version of the preliminary tool for the main survey was confirmed by experts through a content validity test and a preliminary survey of 40 nurses. Subsequently, the final tool was developed using a validity and reliability test containing 43 preliminary items. The final version of the tool was used with 327 hospital nurses in the testing phase for the main survey to assess validity and reliability. Results: From the factor analysis, 4 factors and 26 items were selected. The factors were positive leadership of the nursing unit manager, pursuit of common values, formation of organizational relationships based on trust, and a fair management system. The entire determination coefficient was 67.7%. These factors were verified through convergent, discriminant, and concurrent validity testing. The internal consistency reliability was acceptable (Cronbach's α = .95). Conclusion: Both the validity and reliability of the scale were confirmed demonstrating its utility for measuring positive nursing organizational culture. It is expected to be used for education, research, and practical performance policies regarding the nursing organizational culture.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a standardized scale to diagnostic life planning in late adolescence. A preliminary 32 item scale was developed through a literature review & a survey. 896 people responded to an online survey using the preliminary scale. A series of test, such as test-retest, item-to-total correlation, factor analysis and Cronbach' ${\alpha}$ reliability were conducted using the survey data and a scale comprising 31 items was constructed finally. The diagnostic scale for life planning in late Adolescence consisted of seven factors : (1) complete growth minds (2) life- plan (3) variety experiences (4) close relationships (5) management of healthy body (6) practical finance-plans (7) active preparation of future job. The scale is useful as a guideline for managing life of the late Adolescence. And it is helpful to them to make plan for the better life.

  • This study aims to design a humanities model for preliminary universities using an online platform to develop and expand humanities thinking of preliminary university students. P University Expert Focus Group Interview and student surveys are conducted, and based on the analysis results, a preliminary university model suitable for the humanities field is proposed. Expert FGI suggested the necessity of human resources education to build an online platform-based preliminary university model and improve humanities capabilities. As a result of the student survey, it was found that a majority of the respondents had high interest in humanities and recognized the need for a humanities preliminary university. This study proposes a humanities-based preliminary university model that enables interactive communication in virtual space using the cross-platform Photo Server. The implication of this study is that it contributes to strengthening the humanities capabilities of preliminary university students by presenting an online platform preliminary university model that can respond to changes in the external environment. Since this study has a limitation in that it does not present examples of preliminary universities, it is necessary to verify the educational effect of platform-based ppreliminary university management in the future.
